Starker, greedily:”let me see if any scrolls or books survived the sudden animation and even more sudden de-animation of the bookcase. Then, I recall that to find this place we needed celestial navigation by way of the ceiling in the temple outside. Let me examine this ceiling for similar constellations/guidance. Also, are any of the figured sconces related to the key constellations that led us here?”
The books and scrolls from the bookcase were well scattered and shredded in the brief fight. What was not physically torn apart burned from the coals scattering from the animated braziers. Little that is intelligible is recovered.
The patterns of stars on the ceiling do appear to be grouped into constellations. They depict creatures that mirror the braziers found around the floor: a dragon, a winged snake, hyena, squid, demon, sphere, the crystal creature and a scorpion.
There appears to be a background contrast seen in the three constellations of the demon, the crystal being and the sphere surrounded by filaments.
The wraith emerges from the floor on the far side of the room, sheathed in flames. It casts Confusion, targeting Trolkarl, Chadwick and Starker. Starker fails the save.
The wraith fails his save, taking 6 radiant damage. Mind Sliver has expired, it lasts for one round.
Starker remains Confused as the wraith maintains concentration.
Yartol shows off his 4.1 40 yd time and closes on the wraith. His strikes out with his short sword……again with his short sword….another swing with his scimitar…..all miss. 😕
Starker, does not move or take an action. He fails his next attempt to save and remains Confused.
Kragen points The Judge at the Wraith "feel Tyr's power vile Wraith!" Flame-like radiance descends on the creature, engulfing it.

The wraith succeeds at its concentration save after one beam from Trolkarl's Eldritch Blast hits.
Trolkarl presses the attack with swords. Admantine Short Sword, to hit = 15 for 10 piercing, plus 4 Force for Dreadful Strikes, plus 2 force for Hunter's Mark. The cold flames surrounding the wraith burst out at Yartol, inflicting 2 cold damage. He strikes a second time with advantage, to hit = 18 for 6 piercing damage, taking another 10 cold damage from the flames surrounding the wraith. He then hits with the Scimitar, to hit = 21 for 6 slashing damage while taking another 8 cold damage. The wraith shrieks a cry from beyond the grave and begins shrinking, smaller and smaller. Its cry become more and more hollow until it becomes a point and disappears with a puff of black smoke.
Starker is now himself.
The room is quiet and still.
Yartol turns to you, rime highlighting his hair and armor, "Let's not bring out another of those. Okay?"
The ceiling is domed, rising 50’ or more above you. Frescoes are painted and cover the ceiling in vivid colors accenting dismal scenes. You see familiar scenes of alien landscapes with what appear to be weird vegetation, reptilian creatures with wings, a dragon with multiple heads obscured by smoke and fog, demons and devils performing acts of evil upon the souls of mortals, signs and sigils of power and all revolve around the central depiction of a collection of stars at the apex of the ceiling. This collection of stars does not look familiar to anyone.
There were eight braziers, now six, set equidistant around the opening of the shaft. Each is fashioned of brass and depict a magical creature holding up a bowl: dragon, demon, winged snake, squid like creature, two-headed scorpion, hyena like creature, bipedal collection of crystals and a central sphere with multiple fine filaments surrounding it in a cloud. The hyena and squid shaped braziers were destroyed after being animated by the wraith.
Beyond the circle of braziers are four areas set equidistant apart from each other. You see an alchemical workbench covered in vials and alembics among other items, a desk with writing instruments and books scattered about, and an altar with a gold disc standing on edge depicting a skull with ruby eyes and garnets cut into the shape of drops of blood surrounding the skull. The splintered remains of a bookcase previously filled with tomes and scrolls lie scattered about.
At the periphery of the room are three spiral staircases that climb upwards. They appear to be carved from the stone of the mountain. Each is decorated with skulls, bones and the visages of demons.
Starker:”That was very unpleasant. Confusion cripples the core of my identity, and now my fury knows no bounds. The best was to sate my hunger to harm the architect of my discomfiture is to kill it and wrest my staff from its cold dead claws. I suggest we light the braziers associated with those three symbols that have a different sheen on the ceiling.”
<points to the three constellations of the demon, the crystal being and the sphere surrounded by filaments.>
”Any objections?”

Trolkarl’s second attack hits and destroys the animated brazier. It collapses and its flames extinguish.
There is an eerie quiet in the chamber.
Yartol readies himself with his swords, “The wraith is still about. Be ware.”
Starker to act.
Open for anyone’s action until the wraith returns.
