Jornan offers up the names of several ships, “All reputable with capable crews and captains.” To the rest of your questions he seems to be out of his league.
Starker:” Let me compose a note to our erstwhile companion Serethia. I will then give if to Xymox for adding a few flourishes and we can srnd it off with a clever lical courrier to find her and deliver the note.”
writes:
“Serethia,
Your saviors, The Company, to whom you owe so much, are in Neverwinter at Tyr’s Temple. Make haste to join us that you might work off an infinitesimal fraction of that debt by serving as a local guide and advisor.
Starker, Cager of Menlor the Coward”
Hands to Xymox: perhaps you can slightly improve it. Maybe add a rhyming couplet using lines ending in saviors and behaviors? Or debt and oubliette?
Yartol interjects, "I am no wizard and only have knowledge of the magic that Silvanus and the natural world provides, but, is it wise to show and talk about the staff so dangerous that Starker was specifically instructed not to attune to it to every stranger we come across? I know we are in your temple, Kragen and Chadwick. But I have met plenty of not-so-honorable priests and monks in my travels." He waits for a moment for his words to sink in and then continues, "I would like for us to get rid of this thing as soon as possible and then kill a dragon. I do not see the benefit in asking multiple people along the way what they think of it."

Xymox: "Mage Starker, your idea of using another circle to quickly get us to Waterdeep is well reasoned. Let us see is we can enquire about an escourt to that location. Our sizable donation should be enough gain favor with the mage's guild here in Neverwinter."
Yartol interjects, "I am no wizard and only have knowledge of the magic that Silvanus and the natural world provides, but, is it wise to show and talk about the staff so dangerous that Starker was specifically instructed not to attune to it to every stranger we come across? Xymox's nods at Yartol in agreement. "We need to keep a lower profile in these bigger cities. Too many ears and eyes that may take interest in our business. The sooner we rid ourselves of this staff, the better." Then to Kragen, "Let’s not get too comfortable here. By ship or Circle, we should book our passage immediately."
Starker:”I seek only to get to Xagyg as quickly as possible, and during any down time to learn ehatvI can about the Staff in case we should in a moment of peril have to have me attune to it.”
Starker:”Circle, boat, or on horseback, in order of preference. If we invest a day or two in trying to find a Circle, my priors and marginal likelihoods make it a reasonable investment based on a simple application of the Cleric Bay’s method of updating assessment of probability based on new evidence.”
Starker:”Suddenly I recall that the knowledge required for using teleportation circles is tightly guarded. This changes my prior such that my updated probability assessment suggests we should get on a Waterdeep bound ship as soon as possible.
“As for the question of giving Serethia the scroll she requests, I am indifferent, or perhaps inclining slightly against; but I will defer to the wisdom of The Company.”
Starker:”As regards the scroll: I am no expert in conjuration, but if I recall a lecture in a class I thought of as lntroduction to Schools Less Useful than Evocation, this spell required fresh blood from a dead humanoid. If that is the case, I think we do not need two. I would like to transcribe one into my spell book on the principal that it never hurts to have options, but I don’t imagine Father Kragen or Sir Chadwick giving one to a relative stranger.
”Friends, I remind you that we often find ourselves with many gallons of fresh humanoid blood handy. I pledge never to kill a being merely to obtain the material component of this spell if I am allowed to transcribe it into my spellbook.”
Serethia is equally assuring, "The blood has already been spilled in the making of both of these scrolls. Transcribing for future....options.....if the material component were to be made available as a coincidence would be useful."
OOC/ I've been occupied with other activities today like drinking and violating most of the commandments (I lost count) so pardon the late interaction.
Assume Chadwick did all the appropriate instructions, greetings etc.
When Kragen mentions the staff in a very un-Chadwick like way he tries to talk over him and discounts the need to investigate anything in an abrupt and aggressive way. As soon as possible he pulls him to the side.
"Keep that thing under wraps and don't mention it again." He hisses.
"Remember the stories of (mentions a famous betrayal within the temple). We can't trust anyone (he softens at this point with a hand on his friends shoulder) we don't even know if we can even trust Xagyg.
"I fear with the bards recounting of our quest word has spread about this infernal thing, including to the ears of those that it would best not to reach.
When we meet up with wizard the first thing I plan on doing is using my divine sense and if I pick up anything, anything at all, I'm cleaving that staff in two."
In a tone that chills the marrow: "If the staff won't cleave, I know wizard flesh cuts as easily as any man's."
He pauses a moment, thoughts clear on his face.
"I fear it may have been a mistake to not just have the storm giants undo it when we had the chance...and that soul stealing sword."

"If those bound to Tyr have been untrue, Tyr will see justice served!" Looks at Yartol with flat stare.
"However your words hold wisdom, i to want to see this wand removed from my person. I was hoping to have some additinal context on its design so we know better what this Xygag has in store. I will certainly ask him, when we are together. I have let him know that we will not just "hand it over" without some understanding of intent."

Kragen looks at Chadwick with a flat stare. We are speaking with a Priest of Tyr. If he betrays our trust and confidence, Tyr will see Justice served, and so will I! returns to discussing transport options with Jornan.
Master Trolkarl, i am not sure i am best suited for negotiations, however would you accompany me to the docks to procure our transport to Waterdeep? Assuming Trolkarl accompanies him, Kragen heads to the docks and seeks out those whom Jornan had recommended. Let's Trolkarl lead in negotiating an amicable rate.
Xymox: "My understanding was that we could use the circles for a price of roughly 5gp per person."
That is the price for showing up. Here. You need to know the destination sigil sequence to go somewhere else. That’s information you do not have.
/OOC Yes. That is why Xymox was enquiring if someone in the mages guild here in Neverwinter could be compensated for 'porting us to Waterdeep. I'm assuming that someone here in NW has knowledge of that circle. But, never mind. We can just take a ship.

"You two sort it out. We leave as soon as possible after we finish with our debriefing."

"Master Jornan, please lead the way."
