Stirling calls for protection again to use warding Flare and ducks the devastating blow (Striling thinks thank Lathander I'd be dead if I took both of those hits.)
Stirling throws himself at the cut throat tring to slip his dagger into the dieing man.
Krackle would pause for a moment before reaching down to pick up his dagger. His eyes moving from the corpses to the other henchmen that were watching the fight... waiting to see if they join in. If they don't, he would join in with Zed in looking for anything of value on the bodies... prioritizing coin, food, or anything of value that is small and easy to fit inside his bag before moving next to the others. "Should... Should we keep going?" He would ask with a weary eye up towards the circling dragon. "I... I don't want to fight that one..."
May this man find forgiveness in your morning light and thank you fir your protection in this trial.
Stirling cleans off his dagger and puts it back on his hip and pulls out the crossbow and takes a deep breath and smiles though his eyes show disapproval in the looting.
That was intense. What about the other guy? Live and let live? We should press to the keep Krackle makes a good point longer we are out here more likely wevare targeted with the protection of thick walls.
Once the loot is divvied up between the party members, they continue on heading south then taking the western road that ends at the foot of the hill where the Keep is located. To reach the Keep's Entrance you can go around the hill as the entrance is on the western side of the of the hill.
Let me know if you want to travel clockwise or counterclockwise around the hill to reach the entrance.
Grabbing up what he can Zeds is at first prepared to take all the coin himself but then Krackle shows up. Ok, fine, Zeds is prepared to split it with him again but then Stitling is there, and the showy elf not far…
Ok, fine. Zeds makes three piles. Each pile gets 4 gold and 11 silver, Zeds pocketing his own share as he goes doing his best sleight of hand to make it seem all are getting an equal share (SoH 21).
Zeds hurriedly grabs the bits and pieces of the studded leather he needs to upgrade his plain leather, making haste as he’s not liking being out in the open. He has no interest in the weapons or carrying around spares though.., they could be gold later but for now he figures he doesn’t want to be weighted down with excess baggage.
“Leaving is good,” Zeds agrees. “I’m good with leaving…”
Krackle would quickly scoop up the coins and stuff them into his small bag before tucking it into his cloak. He would also grab a dagger and slide it into his belt. "Let's go... quick.." He would say as he starts to head in whichever direction he thinks would get them to the entrance the fastest.
The party cuts across the grass towards the west going counterclockwise. From the north you see a severely wounded man limping towards the keep while holding onto his baby. Behind him is a blond-haired woman who turns around wielding an old shield and a broken spear. Following her is a giant lizard with a man wearing a strange mask and tapered cloak, riding the giant lizard.
"Is that another dragon!?" Krackle would exclaim as he stopped and stared at the large creature being ridden by the mask wearing man. Then has he looks towards the small helpless baby he would pull his orb from his pocket once more and point it towards the masked man. Quietly he would mutter a few words under his breath through gritted teeth before sending a fire bolt towards the masked man
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Stirling quickly runs to their aid as well putting himself between the family and the masked individual.
Making sure he is within 30 feet of his target he yells over his shoulder. Quick escape!
Stirling's eyes start to glow a bright purple as lips mutter a prayer. He pulls out his holy symbol and thrusts it skyward. A beam of sunlight appears from the sky on him. He points his symbol at the lizard and its rider. The beer of sunlight moves and centers on the duo for a moment before disappearing.
Channel Divinity: Radiance of the Dawn
As an action, you can use Channel Divinity and present your holy symbol to dispel any magical darkness within 30 ft. Additionally, each hostile creature within 30 ft. (that doesn't have total cover) must make a CON saving throw (DC 13) or take 2d10 +2 radiant damage (half damage on success).
"No dragon, just an overgrown lizard," Zeds replies to Krackle. He is looking for an alternative route that ducked them away from this particular party but it seems those he's been thrown in with by fate have other ideas. "You know, we don't have to fight everyone... Sometimes we could just... run away."
Seeing that is not happening, Zeds sees no choice but to once again bring up his bow and take a shot at the mask wearing rider...
Shortbow attack: 9 to hit, 5 damage
Well that was pointless, he sighs to himself and finds the nearest anything to duck behind and hide.
Zeds is hidden as henchman 2 is focused on Sterling.
That hits and Henchman 2 is standing with a sliver of health left.

Please just give in your fate is sealed.

3 damage.
Henchman 2 dies by Sterling's hand.

The men on the wagon are gone with the wagon.

(Clockwise or counter makes no difference to Zeds. Odds he would head clockwise, evens counter, unless someone actually made a choice: 20 )

Do you intervene or run past the family.

Unfortunately there is nowhere to hide as its just grass around you and not a single tree or bush.
