“Thanks for saving the city and salvaging some off the plunder, here’s the door out! I must say, it’s been a real pleasure, governor. I’ll be sure to let Eggy here know just how welcoming you were,” Zeds says snarkily as he’s ushered out the door.
“We’ve not been gone too long, I doubt the citizenry are back on their feet yet, but Nathan we’ll find one who needs gold more than their carriage,” he offers to Krackle.”
“We can ask along the way as we go with Stirling to check out the church,” he adds. “I think perhaps were best off to Elturel then, though. Surely there’ll be more shopping options in a non-dragon ravaged city…”
"I bet you're right Zeds... Or maybe the next town will have a carriage... I'll be the next town has carriages... AND APPRECIATION TOO. It seems there is none of that left in this town either" Krackle replies with a surprising amount of anger in his small voice. "Do you know how many men we killed and how many times we almost died? Do you know what it feels like to be covered in flaming oil, or cooked from the inside out after being struck by lightning, or what about and stabbed through the chest with a sword?" The small kobold, still wearing his charred robes... pulls open a large tear in the fabric to reveal a large fresh scar on his chest. "I got that scar from the big blue dragonborn that Zeds fought on our first day here when none of your soldiers would do it... I got this scar in the fight were we killed him for the damage he did to this town... You're town... Where you've been sitting around doing what exactly?" The small kobold asks with anger flaring in his eyes. His chest heaving up and down as he fumes with anger. Krackle doesn't wait for an answer, he grabs a handle on the side of the chest and begins to drag it along the floor out of the rooom. He would head towards where Jr. is being kept before attempting to secure the egg to his harness.
Governor Nighhill says "If I had anything to give I would, but we are not ready to raise a dragon. I have thanked you and offered a reward from your valiant feats before. All we have left is our hospitality."
The Priest offers a prayer in hopes of safeguarding Sterling along his journey and wishes him good luck. The temple is still partially burned, but the interior is mostly still intact. There are many bedrolls on the ground as some of the villagers sleep here at night.
Greenest is at the bottom of the map and the way to Elturel will take several days. You can follow the road to Berduk then past Scornubel to Elturel or blaze a direct path through the wilderness to get to Elturel.
Zeds is fine sticking the the roads. Elanthir or whatever their name was may be in a hurry but Zeds kind of feels their job is done. It wasn't even their job, they just half-assed stumbling into saving the ungrateful town. (So Zeds sees it.) If it takes a few days and if they stumble upon a tavern or an inn along the way, well he has coin in his pockets and that can only lead to fun...
The road is well traveled with deep wagon marks in the mud. The rain started more like a soft mist that soon turned to a torrential downpour. With wet boots and soggy clothes, the party finally makes it to Berdusk after 2 days of travel. Berdusk is a small walled city with many Inns and markets that cater to people of all walks of life. Some inns look closer to a shack while others seem closer to a palatial manor. The city is also dotted with a number of Fest halls. There are 4 temples within Berdusk praising the gods Helm, Milil, Ohgma, and Deneir. The largest merchant trading company in Berdusk is the Thousandheads Trading Coster located at the Costerheadshouse.
Grumpy from all the mud and rain, Zeds is happy to reach civilization. Any civilization. And at this point all that means to him is a place to get a cold ale and a warn, dry room... After arranging room and board at one of the middle of the road type establishments, Zeds gets some proper food in him before deciding to look at doing some proper shopping. He know that Krackle is interested in buying a carriage or wagon or such and it seems this may be available here. More importantly, Zeds wants a few things for himself. Some better armor for one (Chain Shirt or Scale Mail likely all he can afford now) and a couple daggers. Always good to have a lot of daggers to throw around... He's a mind to poke around and see if he can find someplace selling magics, specifically healing potions. He's unsure if he could afford much in regards to that but it is worth pricing.
Besides that, he's of a mind to take the rest of the day and enjoy a tavern or two. He is interested in just having a dry day (in regards to rain, not drink) and perhaps partaking of some friendly gambling. He does enjoy winning the wages off the locals, specially when he is not in town for long.
Stirling will stay with the others till lodging is secured.
Just after arriving in town.
Stirling: "Nice to be in town again. If it wouldn't be too much trouble I would like to visit the temples in town. I want to see if there is any awaken in this town that might need my services. Plus I want to ask about the dragon's and the tattoo. The temples milili and deneir value knowledge and stories I think or at least 1 does. They might be well informed."
Zeds offers two curved daggers he recovered from the masked rider and their mask to Stirling. "If you may be able to get answers you may as well show them these items as well. I don't think there is anything special about them but they may be unique enough in design that they mean something to someone who would know?"
As they make their way into Berdusk, Krackle looks up from the egg he has been clutching close to his chest. When the downpour started, the small kobold held the egg close to his chest and covered it with a blanket in an attempt to keep it as warm as possible. "I can't wait to get out of this rain... and maybe I can find somewhere to buy a carriage... it would be nice to be able to travel without getting all wet." The kobold says as water drips from his snout. A look of concern spreads across his face as he takes a peek at the egg under the blanket. "I'm ready to find someplace warm.... Krackle Jr. is probably getting hungry too.."
The party finds are suitable Inn called Ollidyn's Folly. A sprawling building that is popular with the average folk living in Berdusk. Indeed it would not take long for Zeds to find some marks for his gambling habits.
Krackle is able to stable Krackle Jr. and there is a nice warm fire in the Inn's fireplace. It cost 1 gp per night for 2 rooms with 2 beds or 5 silvers for a small room with 2 bunkbeds. Finding a wagon maker and seller is not hard to find near the Costerheadshouse.
Sterling let me know which temple you want to visit first as it continues to rain throughout the day.
The temple of Deneir is dedicated to recording every facet of history as they believe that if history is not written down then that is history lost to time. The temple resembles more of a arhcival library than a place of worship there are several candle holders depicting Deneir. There is less emphasis on hierarchy among the priests of Deneir though some positions come with titles. As sterling enters the temple is he is greeted by the Priest Librarian. A woman in her 40's wear plain robes with a bit of ink stains on her right sleeve. She has her auburn hair tied loosely into a bun. "Welcome to the temple of Deneir. What brings you here on such a dreary day?"
I am Stirling of Waterdeep Dawngreeter of Lathander.
I was called south from the city by Morning Lord to deal with a rising darkness. I was hoping you might help me gather some knowledge in support of my quest.
Stirling walks over to a table and displays the the items the party has collected so far. Giving a brief description of each one.
Mask, daggers, tattoo, religious dragon cult book.
Have you gathered any knowledge on the rise of this dragon cult and or can you gleem anything from these items?

At the temple Stirling will find Priest Eadyan Falconmoon to pay his respects then gather any of his remaining things.

Stirling would like to stick to the road. It has its dangers but it's probably safer then the wilderness in his mind.

Ironthar would go to the dwarf Goldhand before gping to get his letter of approval to go into Baldur’s Gate inner city.
”I think my job’s here is done Goldhand, I’ll just ask for the permit and be on my way.” He says to the old dwarf.
Goldhand does give the permit and if everyone is ready the party can leave Greenest and hit the road.

Stirling goes to deneir first
The temple of Deneir is dedicated to recording every facet of history as they believe that if history is not written down then that is history lost to time. The temple resembles more of a arhcival library than a place of worship there are several candle holders depicting Deneir. There is less emphasis on hierarchy among the priests of Deneir though some positions come with titles. As sterling enters the temple is he is greeted by the Priest Librarian. Good day. Stirling says with a bow.
