Ixsas nods and says, "It's a generous offer, Krackle." Without magical wards, he doesn't expect that it'll help, but there's no harm in it either.
Ixsas doesn't expect that there's anything he can do until he can pray for Kossuth's aid at dawn the next morning. Then, he'll have more tools to use against this hag if it continues to harass Toren. He's ready to take a Long Rest.
Ixsas prefers the last watch before dawn, as usual. Perception9
((OOC: we expect to reach Carnath House the next day before nightfall, right?))
"Him sleeping behind a closed door could at least rule out someone having to physically touch him, as opposed to doing it through magic or spirits or etherealness whatever?" Zeds offers up. "If nothing else it would show him we are trying what we can... And if it got noticed by the hag or whatever it is then perhaps they may try to stop up which, ok maybe we don't want, but would at least indicate we had something to fight?"
"yeah!" Krackle replies to Zeds. He would then move to his carriage to try to arrange enough space for the man to sleep. he would them unhook Jr. from the front of the carriage and tie him up in front of the door. "I will sleep in here with him to keep an eye on him. Anyone that wants to join me can before I lock the door!" The kobold suggests.
The night is rather uneventful, and it is soon dawn. No one saw anyone touching Toren, but Ixsas's knows that Night Hags can intrude into a person's dreams through the Etheral Plane without being seen.
In the morning Toren seem quite tired but he slowly rises and gets to work breaking up camp and getting the oxen ready.
Breakfast is a hunk of smoked porcupine.
If Ixsas wants to try something he may. Otherwise, the Caravan hits the road once more and by days end you will arrive at the rest stop.

Right. Ixsas didn't think that the carriage doors would help Toren, but as he said, it does no harm.
Ixsas isn't sure how easy it would be for the hag to find Toren every day from the Ethereal Plane, and he can't imagine that she would travel along with the caravan from the Ethereal Plane. He assumes that she is either traveling with the caravan in disguise, or she has some easy way to find Toren every night. He does warn his companions that if they manage to break Nyatharel's hold on Toren, the hag might appear in person to challenge them or to attempt to carry off one or both of the brothers. "Stories say that although hags look like very ugly old women, they are physically quite strong."
Over breakfast, Ixsas asks Toren, "Could you tell me about the time you made your deal with Nyatharel? How did you contact that entity? How did you meet?" In particular, Ixsas asks how they sealed the deal. "Did Nyatharel give you a token or mark you in some way to signify the deal?"
"Does he have nightmares if he sleeps during the day?" Zeds asks. It may not be a solution to breaking the hags hold but perhaps it could allow him some rest. "Perhaps if forced to sleep during the day he could at least recuperate a bit?"
"we could see. I could also cast my sleep spell on him and see if that helps him to get better sleep." Krackle replies before taking a bite out of smoked porcupine.
Serge is noticeably keeping himself busy today. Whether its patrolling along the caravan's flanks or assisting waggoneers with any animal or suspension issues that may arise, he seems restless and looking for things to occupy himself.
One specific thing he does today, is lookup Faelsin and inquire about the layout of this rest stop.
How many buildings?
Is it fortified?
Who is in charge there? What is their reputation (honest? criminal?)?

From what Toren said you know Nyatharel has made a blood phylactery. A magic item that would let her track Toren down wherever he is in the material plane.
Faelsin explained to Serge that the Carnath Roadhouse is dominated by a central 2 story building, the surrounding it are 3 warehouse buildings and a large stable. Yes, it is fortified with a wooden palisade. As for reputation the rest stop takes in all sorts of people so there may be some people with sticky fingers.
Ixsas shakes his head and says, "Hm...I know nothing of such fiendish blood magic, but we will see what we can do." He interrupts Serge's chores and shares what they learned from Toren. Ixsas casts Guidance on the eldritch knight, hoping that Kossuth will guide his memory, and asks Serge whether he's ever heard of this kind of magic. "What would a hag do with this vial of Toren's blood, do you think?"
The fact that the hag took his blood (even in a dream) makes Ixsas think that they won't be able to break Nyartharel's hold over Toren unless they can find the hag and get hold of the vial.
"Can you remember the symbol? Could you draw it?" Zeds asks, knowing nothing specific about this at all. (Arcana 4) "I would bet destroying the vial and the blood would help... or be bad... or surely would have some effect, anyway. We just have no way to know where it is..."
At the mention of the roadhouse and sticky fingers, Zeds ears perk up. "Not that I would know anything about such things... But as a gambler who has need to carry more coin than your average schmoe, on occasion, let me suggest a few things..." Zeds then goes on to give a little bit of an anti-theft primer to his companions. Tips and tricks about best practices in regards to where and how to carry valuables, what to look out for and so on...
Zeds also inquires with Faelsin about enforcement polices at Carnath. Does it have it's own guards? Is it every man for itself? Is anyone meting out punishments for theft or other crimes in an official capacity?
Hags are simply outside of Serge’s experience. Amongst the varied magical and Fey horrors of the Realms, he had sort of hoped these evil witches were among the more ‘mythological’ sort of monsters. Learning are not only very real, but they can invade dreams and do Helm-knows-what while a person sleeps… ick.

Ixsas listens to Zeds advice with interest. He didn't have to worry about theft while growing up at a temple of Kossuth. Even when he ran errands outside of the temple, no one seemed to bother him. (It never occurred to him as a child that that was because the high priests made an example of any criminal bold enough to harassed the initiates of Kossuth by publicly burning the thieves alive.)
Of course, as an itinerant priest who has spent many weeks on the road now, Ixsas owns very little other than his armor and weapons. In fact, he's recently been wondering how he'd earn enough money to afford the material components to cast somemorepowerfulspells that he might want to try.
Zeds also inquires with Faelsin about enforcement polices at Carnath. Does it have it's own guards? Is it every man for itself? Is anyone meting out punishments for theft or other crimes in an official capacity?
(OOC: Just out of curiosity, I'm sure! 😆)
FYI - Ixsas is still considering scanning the caravan with Detect Evil and Good before they head out to confirm that this hag, Nyatharel, isn't hiding among the caravaners. That spell would reveal a fiend or fey in disguise, and it could also locate a magically desecrated object if Toren unknowingly carries such a thing. He's just waiting to hear whether Serge knows anything about the vial of Toren's blood that the hag possesses before he decides to do that.
"Why would they want his blood.. that seems weird" The kobold replies not knowing anything about what blood has to do with our friends situation. "Maybe he is being tormented by a vampire." he guesses as he takes another bite of meat. "I hope they have more food for Jr... it sounds like I will need to keep my carriage doors locked and an eye on my pack." He says as he gently puts the top of his pack that is draped across his chest.
"Yes, Carnath Roadhouse is run by Superintendent Bog luck a half-orc and there are guards there, but they only answer to Bog Luck. So, coming to them with any troubles that don't involve Carnath Roadhouse is usually ignored. That is why I mentioned being careful about thefts" says Faelsin.
Unsure how to help Toren the party continues onward, and the caravan arrives at Carnath Roadhouse as the sun sets.
There are throngs of other caravans here moving goods to and from the large warehouses. Many crates and barrels stacked up on the periphery of the circular courtyard.. You see all sorts of races mingling in the large courtyard.
Faelsin has a look of relief and says that "as a rule we can place our goods in the warehouses, but our wagons and carriages have to be parked outside as there would not be enough room inside with all these caravanners present. Do all of you mind helping to carry the goods into warehouse 1. It is not full yet. Once done you can head into the main building to get some rest"

The party settles in for the night having Toren sleep in the carriage with Krackle.
For Ixsas's watch he does not notice anything unusual.
Krackle notices that once Toren is asleep he starts tossing and turning as he most likely is pulled back into the nightmare.
