This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Krackle would move towards the prisoner as Stirling leaves. He would nod at the man as he gets a warm tap on the shoulder. "Hey, how are you doing? I guess not very good..." he would ask before pointing towards his wounds. "My new friend Stirling here doesn't want to kill you... he is kind of the good guard here. Those two over there... well let's just call them the bad guards. They think we should kill you." He would continue eforw turning towards the giant lizard and motioning him over. When Jr. comes over he would turn and pet him on the head. "I am the middle guard I guess?I mean you guys killed a lot of innocent people yesterday... so I would t feel bad about killing you. But IF you show that you are sorry about what you did.. and answer my friends questions... then I would agree with the good guard that you should be spared." Krackle would then look the man In the eyes... his small figure trying his hardest to look as neutral as possible. "So do you want to help us protect and save innocent people? or do you want my lizard friend here to eat you alive? he could start on your legs and just slowly munch his way up towards your head... i bet it would hurt a lot." The kobold would quickly snap his jaws together quickly. "The only chance you have to live is to help us..."
The prisoner is terrified and agrees to your terms, but you get the feeling he is faking just to get out alive and feels no remorse for killing those innocent townsfolk. "Ah yes I feel bad for what I have done and will tell you everything I know."
He then tells you exactly where the camp is located and that they number near a 100. That Cyanwrath led them in battle and that he answers to Frulam Mondath, a women warrior who uses a glaive. He is unsure of where prisoners are kept, but he guesses near Mondath's tent.
The camp is another 6 hours away towards the southeast.
"You arn't lying to us right?" the kobold would ask before turning around. "Do you have anymore questions guys?" Krackle would ask as he looks towards his companions before dragging one of the lifeless (and looted) corpses over towards Jr. once the corpse was in front of the giant lizard he would give him a pat on the head, "eat up! I bet you're hungry.." he would before allowing the lizard to munch on the corpse in view of the prisoner.
Zeds has been studiously watching the entire questioning and trying to determine how truthful or not their prison is being. Insight: 5 Frankly Zeds is just a litle too impressed by how well the little kobold is handling the investigation to pay as much attention as he wanted to.
When Krackle asks if there are more questions, however, Zeds does have a few.
"Tell us everything you know about Cyanwrath. What do they look like, where do they come from? What can they do?" As well as all relevant follow up questions.
"Frulam Mondath? What do you know about them? What do they look like, where are they from?" Etc etc etc. Zeds is slowly trying to extract information about any "named" player that he can. What race they are, what skill sets they have, who they command and who they answer to. He's also interested if they have accents that might indicate where they come from, same with favorite foods or the like.
"Who hired you?" Zeds will ask when he runs out of names and their information to ask about. "How long have you been working for them? Where did they hire you from? Surely you're not childhood friends who are just doing this as a lark... Who else does this army comprise of? We saw humans and kobolds and that lizardman guy, what other groups and factions are in this army?" Again, Zeds follows up on each of those questions to try to whittle out details. Not even details that the guy may be trying to hide but details he may not realize are important... Like how the groups get along with one another, are they all from the same region or has the army grown or shrank over time? How long has this guy been with the army? How much longer than that was the army together? For surely he has talked to others who told stories of exploits before he signed up.
"What other cities have you sacked? How were the cities chosen? Why?" Zeds asks. "Is this all about the sacking and looting or is there a strategy behind this? A plan? C'mon, man. I know you're just an underling but even stooges hear shit. Give it up to us or you'll be big lizard snack just like your friends there..." After finding out what has been hit he would move on about questioning what is to be hit next and when. "You told us where they are camped now but where they going to? Surely they're not planning to stick around any one place too long or they would be seizing cities, not just ransacking them."
But thinking about the loot and all would lead Zeds to ask "Where does it all go? The gold? The items? Surely you're not just divvying it all up and carrying it around in your pockets. I been in your pockets, there was no gold lining them... Seriously, you're so poor and pitiful we were thinking about giving you some coin, why ARE you with these people if you're not making a living doing it?"
All in all, Zeds makes it a long, drawn out and repetitive conversation. Repeating questions ten, twenty minutes down the line helps gauge whether the man is lying or telling the truth. If he's just making up answers on the fly then his answers are going to vary, details will change between them, details he never thought important enough to remember. A long interrogation also allows for a lot of questions to be asked out of the blue or out of context so that the subject cannot be building up a narrative in his head but instead has to jump around from topic to topic and has to answer from memory not from the story he is crafting as he goes along.
When Zeds is finishing up, mostly because he is tired and running out of new things to ask, he'll look the brigand in the eye and ask the most important question of all. "Why shouldn't we kill you rather than worry about what you are up to behind out backs?"
((Investigation check... 4. So we gots what we already gots I suppose. But seriously... I hate rolling dice.))
The prisoner is overwhelmed by the bombardment of questions, and he does not know much as he was a cutthroat earning a living in Baldur's gate when he was recently hired for job by another cutthroat Barnick and does not know much about Cyanwrath or Mondath, except to obey what they say or perish. Greenest was his first town hit and does not know much about other towns or villages. Ther other cutthroats are from all over the place. The gold goes to Cyanwrath, but after that he does not know.
"Let me live and I will mend my ways and serve the community" he is sweating even harder than before.
"But... The ransacking army is a community too. Which community you going to serve?" Zeds asks even as he flashes his blade across the brigands neck and cuts it open. ((Do I need to roll in order to kill this dude?))
"Sorry, much as he may have deserved a different fate I just wasn't up to dealing with it..." Whether Zeds means freeing the prisoner, leaving them bound to be collected later or feeding them alive to Junior isn't specified.
"Attackers base is about six hours away, if we trust that much of what he said. Likely be longer if we're trying to remain unseen and killing those who do see us, so we best be going if we want to find it by nightfall."
Keep eyes and ears open but no scout... Don't want to risk them getting caught alone and the others not knowing. Fine sending them ahead if we hear something but... *shrug*
Ironthar said to Sterling seeing the priest had hard time with the killing of the prisoner,
“Killing him was the only choice, the man is lying through his teeth. If we let him live he’ll warn their camp and we’re dead. This is a time of war, there’s only kill or be killed.”
Ironthar would then walk a few feet behind Sterling.
The party marches onward and 3 hours later Sterling is the first to hear the clank of a of a blade on a shield and footsteps moving as one. This speaks of military experience. It is coming from up ahead around a bend in the trail.

There is sweat dripping down his forehead "No, of course I am not lying everything I say is the truth"

Sterling figures most of what the prisoner said is true though something is a lie.

No need to roll to kill the prisoner.
"Whatever community you want" says the Prisoner.
Ironthar knows its lie.
Zeds kills the prisoner even as he answers.
"Sorry, much as he may have deserved a different fate I just wasn't up to dealing with it..." Whether Zeds means freeing the prisoner, leaving them bound to be collected later or feeding them alive to Junior isn't specified.

The prisoner slumps to the ground s his lifeblood flows out of him.
Give me a marching order and tell me if anyone is going ahead to be a scout.
Krackle would ride on the back of Jr towards the back of the pack.
Stirling winced as the man was killed. He then kneels over him in prayer wishing him luck in his judgment before which ever claims him.
Stirling would be up front on the lookout. (He has a passive Perception of 20 if that counts for anything)
