"They wanted us to do everything - learn the location of the camp, learn who the leaders are, free all the hostages, recover the stolen loot, rescue Leosin here and, I think, plant their crops for the next season," Zeds points out. "We found their camp, rescued the one guy and hopefully we make it back alive. I never expected to fulfill all their asks and if they're not satisfied with what we've done they're welcome to send others back to the camp since we'll at least have told them where it is..."
"Location... Check, Leaders.... blue dragon and big dragon guy that doesn't like Zeds.... Check, rescue the hostages... check." He would point back towards the monk. "I'm not sure we managed to do anything that could count as recovering the loot... I mean unless you count this stinky cloak..." He would then pull out the smelly cloak he had hoped to use to disguise Zeds from the camp earlier...
“Agreed,” Zeds agrees… “sooner back to Greenest the better. Once back we can consider more tasks if the have them but there was too many there for us to take on ourselves…”
The party continues on and soon arrive back to Greenest in the late afternoon. Flowers and other offerings dot the cemetery as many funerals were performed that day while the dead brigands were piled into a pit and set ablaze. The clang of hammers and tools can be heard as craftsman are still working trying to rebuild their homes.
Leosin hops off of Krackle Junior and Nesim Waladra limps over to give his brother monk a warm embrace and a smack at the back of his head. Relief clear on his face. Seeing the commotion Governor Nighhill comes over as he was in the midst of surveying the damages. "You are back and I see you were able to rescue the monk. Now tell me everything you saw or know"
Krackle would slide off of the giant lizard and glance around at the activity of the townsfolk. He would take his bag from the back or Jr. and give the lizard a quick pat and a few pieces of dried meat. He would then look towards the others as the governor addressed them... allowing them to fill the governor in.
Zeds tells the governor all he saw and knows... He of course allows one of the others to take the lead in the retelling and verbal picture painting but will chime in when he feels he has information they failed to provide or insight that they may not. Zeds is pretty matter of fact about the concept that there is much they did not find out... "Our estimation to their numbers is rough, at best, and we certainly couldn't differentiate how many kobolds versus how many humans or dragon people they have. Really it's a lot of guesswork based on how full the base looked," he readily enough explains. He also makes no apologies for not freeing more prisoners telling the governor "It was a fools errand us going in and trying to rescue the one. I saw no practical way for us to have rescued more without bringing the whole group of them down upon us."
“You need to ask Baldur’s Gate for their support. Your little town cannot do much to fight the bandits with their large numbers, but a platoon of highly trained Flaming Fist would squash their ranks easily. I’ll personally join the fight if you send an army at them. But if it’s only the four of us, we can just do recon at best, more will be suicide.” Ironthar said to the Governor.
Stirling mostly just nods along with everyone's telling. He does try to sketch out the camp as they saw it from above and indicate where the areas they burned are.
Leosin says "I was able gather more information as I was not caught right away as I infiltrated the camp. Here is what I learned."
This is a camp of the Cult of the Dragon
The half-black dragon Rezmir came to the area a few months ago, and she set up the camp. Mondath handles everyday operations.
Not everyone here is a full-fledged member of the cult. Many are new initiates working toward full acceptance, and many others are simple mercenaries, hired to flesh out the camp’s strength during raids or if it should come under attack.
The kobolds are here because their worshipful attitude toward dragons makes them easy for high-ranking cultists to manipulate.
The cult has been ranging far and wide on small raids to collect treasure. Greenest was the closest target to the camp, the biggest of all the towns they’ve attacked, and the most profitable
The cave at the back of the camp (area 4) is off-limits to all but those who’ve been cleared by Mondath and Rezmir, which includes a handful of guards and kobolds. It’s known around camp as “the nursery,” and it’s an open secret that Rezmir plans to hatch a clutch of dragon eggs there.
The half-blue dragon Cyanwrath is Mondath’s right hand.
The plunder from nearby settlements is stored in the cave. No one but Rezmir knows how much is there altogether, but it must be a big pile by now.
"Thank you for your valiant efforts in doing this task for Greenest. I will reward you with 250 gp each as promised. Baldur's Gate will not listen to our plight otherwise those brigands and cultist would have been destroyed ages ago as Greenest was not the first settlement attacked." says Governor Nighhill.
Leosin looks to the party "I need to rest for a day, but can you please stay as I have a request for you, and I need to collect my thoughts as I recuperate."
'Wow! Good job Leosin!" Krackle would say with a grin. "We... would have tried to do a better job ourselves to collect information.. but when we saw you being tortured we decided to act right away... and then we were kind of forced to retreat after that." The kobold would explain as his eyes move to focus on the dirt... feeling bad that they didn't do as good a job as they could have.
((We only saw the monk prisoner but it sounded to me as if the invaders were taking people all along and only left the ones that were right with them during the duel. I could be wrong though, just assumed there was many townsfolk taken.))
Zeds nudges Krackle when he sees the little one looking down. “Head up, eh? For all the information he got he also got himself captured,” Zeds points out quietly, trying to cheer up Krackle not insult Leosin. “Nobody would have learned anything if we hadn’t rescued him. If you hadn’t, mostly…”
Zeds readily accept the gold reward without really considering how much it may be taxing the community so recently hit by plunderers. He does wonder to himself though if there’s actually any place in town to spend such riches though. Surely all the worthwhile places have been sacked or burnt…
“A day or two of rest would do me wonders as well,” Zeds admits, still feeling his recent injuries. “Specially if there’s anyplace comfortable to get a room, all things considered.”
Krackle would look up to Zeds and a smile would spread across his face. "Yeah, I suppose we all did a good job." He would say, his voice a little happier sounding than before. "So... I don't want to be rude... but when do we get our reward?" he would ask quietly, his gaze turning towards the governor.

The party packs up and starts making their way to Greenest. You can chat along the way or stay silent. That is up to you.

“We done the beat we could and it’s probably beyond anyone expectations. The most important thing is we’re still alive.”
“Agreed,” Zeds agrees… “sooner back to Greenest the better. Once back we can consider more tasks if the have them but there was too many there for us to take on ourselves…”
"Let's get going then" Krackle would suggest as he stands up and dusts himself off.

**I thought that the left the prisoners and took the loot. I thought the monk was the only prisoner but I could be wrong.**
(That is true you saw only 1 prisoner the monk)
