Zeds is about to flash Selebon the cultist daggers when Stirling goes the other route and flashes his Harpers pin instead. Zeds is suddenly wary and on edge as he had been directed to Selebon when hinting around about the cult so he had been of a mind this man may have dealing with them. Then again he had kept vague on what exactly he was asking about so perhaps Stirling has the right of it...
Lol didn't think about that but I did get my info from the church
Selebon pauses looking at the pin but then he frowns a bit. It looks like he did not find what he was looking for. He then says "Ah yes there is several caravans heading north. There is one leaving soon to Waterdeep. Speak to Vandren the elderly dwarf. He should be at the corner 2 blocks from here."
Seeing the small frown, the kobold subtly casts Prestidigitation, creating the Tiamat tattoo on his forearm. He then repeats the process on both Stirlings forearm and Zeds over the next few seconds. "Don't mind our friend, he likes to collect useful trinkets that he stubles across in our travels... " Krackle says with a smile as he slides the sleeve of his robes up enough to reveal the tiamat tattoo on his forearm. "You wouldn't happen to have any other caravans we could join would you?" He would ask before turning away from the man and rummaging through his pack as though looking for a snack. While doing so he would cast Message to Sterling "roll up your sleeve.. show him your tiamat tattoo..." the kobold would whisper into the mind of Stirling and then Zeds before pulling out a piece of dried meat and taking a bite.
"We got separated a while back from the rest," Zeds says by way of explanation as he also moves his cloak such as to reveal one of the curved daggers. "At Greenest. We knew the regroup was here but we were supposed to just be guarding a wagon not driving it, we weren't told the specifics."
Deception: Nat 1 for 7... (sorry folks... I really should never roll til asked.)
He tilts his head in thought "You know I never caught any of your names. I know you're not cultist. Now tell me why you are looking for a cultist caravan and you better do it quick before I decide to report this to my superior."
Ironthar simply puts on a mask, his black cloak when combined with the cultist mask is spot on. “This miscreants are lowlifes I spared from greenest. They agree to join me as my underlings. Don’t mind them to much.”
He sat back relaxed. “I don’t like to have blown my cover for this. I thought these loser can handle a simple talk with you. Gah!”
Insight roll to try to gauge which side Selebon IS on? 3... Yeah, Zeds has no idea so he stays silent and just starts to subtly move his hands towards his weapons.
Selebon seems even more defensive as he stands. He unsheathes an old dull blade and grabs hold of it midway down the blade. The way he is holding seems to remind you of something you have seen before.
"Stay back whoever you are. Make a move and I will call for the guards" says Selebon to Ironthar.
"May as well call the guards then," Zeds says a bit sarcastically. "Faster than us starving to death, which is what happens if we never make a move again... Orrrr.... We could cut to the chase. We are hunting the cultists. We're against dragon-loving crazies trying to take over the world and wreck everyone else's shit. It seems we were confused about the random street talk we picked up about which side you were on, vis-a-vis dragon-loving. So yeah, if you're pro-cultist and want dragons ruling the world then call your guards and lets get the bloodletting started..." As Zeds says this he too pulls his weapons and readies for melee to begin.
Krackle dismisses the tiamat tattoos and clutches his orb and dagger in his hands. "Just tell us how to join the dragon cultist caravan and we will let you live. At this point I don't care what side you are on. I had never hurt anyone until a few days ago and honestly... it is getting easier and easier with each person we kill." The kobold would snarl, still wearing the backpack backwards on his chest, never letting the egg out of his sight. "We are trying to save the world... and by not telling us how to join that caravan, YOU are activly trying to destroy it... so tell us now before we kill you and ransack your office here until we get the information we need." The kobold's eyes flare up and his tiny chest heaves heavily as he breathes though gritted teeth.
As krackle prepares to ready a spell, his pin identifying him as a member of the gauntlet flashes from behind the backpack on his chest.
Zeds rolls his eyes but stays out of it. Instead he tries to figure out how anything this man tells them now can be trusted... And how they can not kill him. If he is on the side of the cultists they can't let him live and warn them to be on the lookout for a crew like them. If he is opposed to the cultists it would be hard to convince him now that they are as well and he'd likely have the guards and such harrying them quicker than they could even try to join the caravan. Nothing for it at the moment though except to wait and see...
Selebon calms and gestures at Ironthar to let him speak. "Look for the white Palanquin in Blackgate. Follow it and it will lead you to the caravan you seek. Now leave me be"
"Well there you have it... Let's kill him now and get out of here before guards or friends or customers do come by," Zeds suggests, drawing his blade ready to do the deed himself.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Hold on Zeds.... " Krackle interrupts before moving closer to the man. "So how long have you been a Tiamat Cultist? What made you want to join them?" The kobold asks, still standing ready with his dagger and orb.

Seeing that his cover not effective Ironthar rages and grapples Selebon’s down.
”You shut your goddamn mouth! Or I’ll kill you!”

Ironthar successfully grapples Selebon. He is swearing and struggling against Ironthar.
What do you do next?
Stirling will cast guidance on the next person who makes a check. Chosing to stay silent not sure what do do in these situations.
