Seeing his bolt strike true Tovar drops his crossbow and deftly unsheathes his sword as he charges bravely ahead. With a mighty two handed swing, the blade singing through the stale air, he brings the sword slashing down into the neck of the already wounded beast.
Attack on R1: Attack: 17 Damage: 9
The blade slices through bone, muscle and tendon like a hot knife through butter. The head of the rat rolls away, its eyes wide with shock. The body twists and contorts as blood spurts from the gaping wound.

The drow charges in towards the rat (R2) which Esvele's bird just distracted.
Quarterstaff Attack: 19 Damage: 5 bludgeoning
With a slight hop, N'ruel jumps up in the air at the same time bringing his quarterstaff over his head. As he lands the staff catches the rat at the base of the skull, causing the decapitation of the creatures - quite the feat with a blunt weapon! With no reaction on his face, he quickly turns to the next target (R3) and delivers a roundhouse kick to its ribs.
Bonus Martial Arts Attack: 13 Damage: 5 bludgeoning
Esvele raises her shield, further shining, as she does flames begin to grow beneath R3's feet as a sacred flame attempts to envelop it. (DC 13 DEX Save or 4 radiant damage.)
A cylinder of radiant flame, materializing from small spark, spirals down from the stone ceiling engulfing one of the enormous rats burning away fur and flesh.

With all but one of the rats having been quickly dispatched, their blood soaking into the cracked stone floor there is a sudden shift in the pile of masonry at the southern end of the chamber. Loose bits of rubble cascade down, pitter pattering against the floor. With a force that shakes the ground beneath your feet the pile of shattered stone heaves upward filling the room with a cloud of dust. The hazy image of a large hunched figure can be seen through the years of dust as it floats through the air like falling snow.
With thunderous footsteps a towering gray humanoid with stone-like chiseled features emerges through the dust. A cyclopean eye carved into the middle of of its forehead.
"For to be giving a moment!" Calls Tovar at the rapidly approaching figure, readying his shield for a beating. With an elegant backhand swing, Tovar spins and launches yet another strike at the last remaining rat.
Attack: 18 Damage: 6
Wounding the creature, Tovar turns, preparing to take the brunt of the stone figure's assault.
The rat lashes out with bloody teeth in defensive as Tovar's blade swings true.
Attack: 10 Damage: 6
The booming approach of footsteps grabs the attention of the vermin at the last moment and his bite glances harmlessly off of the fighters armor. With fear glinting in its red eyes the rodent darts away from the approaching threat, blood trailing in its wake.
Whoever thinks they would be within melee range of R4 can take an attack of opportunity if they wish.

"Oh my goodness," Aerin murmurs at the sight of the strange cyclopean being.
Raising her hands uncertainly, she knows from the murderous look in its eye this encounter would not be easy. Why on why had she thought she knew what they were getting into? Rats were one thing but what was this? Aerin tries to remember if this thing is at all familiar or if it has weaknesses as she casts another blast.

N'ruel takes a step back as the pieces of stone begin to animate, but thinks that this new creature will have to wait its turn. He quickly strikes out with his quarterstaff at the remaining rat.
Quarterstaff Attack: 22 Damage: 4 bludgeoning
Having been distracted by their new oppponent, the monk's staff goes well wide of the vermin. He takes a brief momement to center himself and drives a knee into the jaw of the raw. With a high pitched snap, the jaw is thoroughly broken then driven up into the rat's brain causing the body to immediately fall limply to the floor.

A splash of eldritch energy splashes over the hulking stone figure as it lumbers forward, the warlock having never read about anything like this in her studies before.
The cyclopean eye seems to come alive as it begins to bulge and pulse, the pupil darting around wildly, within the forehead and the stone goliath. Whenever the eye looks upon you it feels like it pierces into your soul. An intense pressure builds up around your temples and an otherworldly humming pounds in your ears as if something is attempting to claw its way into your skull.
The stone statue-esk creature raises a clenched fist high above it's head and brings it crashing down brave fighter.
All the rats have been killed.
Everyone, including Gwaihir, takes 5 psychic damage and needs to make a DC 15 intelligence save. On a success take half the damage. On a fail take the full psychic damage and please roll a d100 and a d10.
