"To a waystation not too far away. I am reluctant to do so, but that is my lot down here. Now you can either go with me or fend off the fiery buggers on your own. Your choice" says the Dwarf. He begins walking seemingly done with talking.
The dwarf travels down the causeway for about an hour before walking down a set of stairs on the side of the causeway. The stairs end at a stone structure built beneath the causeway more akin to a bunker in its rough design.
The dwarf shoves the metal door open. Letting everyone inside. There is a scent of beef stew in the air and on a nearby worktable is a half-assembled clock.
"Now that you lot are comfy, mind explaining to me what you are doing down here? I doubt your motely group works in the mines or Thermal Plant." says the dwarf in a brusque tone of a man not used to more polite niceties.
The pale winged Tiefling follows along in silence, glancing about as he walks the long causeway, following the secretive white-bearded dwarf. As he gets inside the bunker he quickly looks around for threats before relaxing somewhat, taking a seat on the bed. "We're looking for some people that are supposed to be down here. They are likely trying to stay hidden but it would be helpful if you could tell us where to find them."Nathaniel says and shows an image of Jaske, hoping the dwarf recognizes him.

Nisha follows the rest, casting doubtful and wary looks left and right. She doesn't say anything, letting the tiefling work his charms on the dwarf instead, but makes sure to take a proper look at the place as they enter and then to keep a close eye on the dwarf while he talks.

Aeran Dormaris - L2 Paladin on his way to Phandelver
Kaelen just walks over to one of the couches and lays down the tortle as his companions talk to the dward. He just stands watching as the conversation takes place.
There is a look of recognition in the dwarf's eyes. "I have seen him from time to time. Often going to the Thermal Plant. Mercs for hire eh, then what has this man done?"
As Gavyn wakes the dwarf looks to him and says flatly "No you didn't"
"I see..."The pale winged Tiefling says with a nod. "...well thank you for saving us earlier, that causeway is indeed a dangerous place, one wonders how anyone would dare walk it." He says to the white-bearded dwarf with an appreciative nod. "So, would you mind terribly if we stayed here for a while before we head on to that Thermal Plant? And do you have any suggestions how we avoid those pesky lava creatures that attacked us earlier?"
"I know that there are some decent folk working there and something strange as some people seem overly cautious or wishing for me not to linger. I got the message and I have stayed out here on patrol keeping the other workers safe. Yes, you can stay here to rest. That was the reason for why this bunker was made." says the Dwarf.
The dwarf takes off his cloak and dangling from his belt is a metal engraved object similar to an ID card for the Thermal Plant.
"So, if we felt it necessary to investigate this Thermal Plant in spite of what you say, do you have any suggestions on how to go there and enter inconspicuously and without being harassed by more lava creatures?"Nathaniel asks, glancing down at the white-bearded dwarf's ID card, then trying to make himself more comfortable for the short rest ahead of him.
"I suggest you try to dress more like a laborer and less flamboyant or motely looking. There are some old clothes here in the closet that other haves left behind you can use though it might not fit. Of course, some areas are restricted unless you have an ID card similar to this one on my belt. As for protections ice spells or artifacts that emits cold will also work. The fiery buggers never like the cold. Personally, I use this belt I am wearing that allows me to use a cold spell to cover a large area." says the Dwarf. He looks to the tortle and minotaur and says "Though some of you may find it harder to blend in. If you do cause a ruckus, make sure don't mention me if you are in a confessing mood."
The pale winged Tiefling does not seem thrilled about putting on old laborer's clothes but he nods to the sensible advice from the white-bearded dwarf. "Any chance we could borrow that belt and that ID card? I don't exaggerate when I say you could be saving the city from a catastrophy." Nathaniel says, glancing over at Nisha, hoping the Half-Elf would do some charming here.

"Ugh.. thank f**k," Laine says as the mephits retreat. After a moment he follows after the dwarf.
"Does it matter?" he asks, Nathaniel.

"If it matters who he is and where he's taking us? Yes, I would say it does." The pale winged Tiefling quietly answers Laine.
As the white-bearded dwarf seems reluctant to share much, Nathaniel shrugs and follows along, although still wary of his surrpundings.

4 hours until Gavyn wakes up naturally without a long or short rest.
Deciding it would be good if the Tortle was awake to plan, Nathaniel calls upon the power of his talisman to heal Gavyn.

(We should try to get a short rest before heading on if possible I think :-)
"It doesnt if the recourse is being burned alive," Laine responds to Nathaniel.
Laine sticks his hands in his pockets as they walk, wondering what that blast was and if this dwarf can teach it to him.
"You could say we're mercenaries, looking for some unruly types to squash their dastardly plans." he answers the dwarf.
Gavyn stirs and awakens, feeling pain all over. He sits up on the couch, looking around at the unfamiliar setting.
"What is this place? Did we win?"
There is a look of recognition in the dwarf's eyes. "I have seen him from time to time. Often going to the Thermal Plant. Mercs for hire eh, then what has this man done?"

"He's an assassin," Laine says, its pretty much the truth.
"Do you happen to know what is happening at this Thermal Plant?" Nisha finally speaks.
