"We came here to make sure the invention was secure. We can take her word for it that it is and go, or we can go down with her to look at it."Laine shrugs.
Without taking her eyes off the unhinged engineer, Nisha responds to the group quietly, so only they can hear her. "If you say we go back, we go back. Maybe we can get the invisible guy out of here, I am sure the guards will be eager to look into his motives anyway."

"The question is,.you see, will the boss ask us to go down there anyways? Or is the mission to follow up on our new lead?" Gavyn says. He turns to the woman and says, "Go check on your machine. We have to check in with what we've found."
The pale winged tiefling nods and returns upstairs to collect their captive, planning to bring him to their waiting carriage and to the City Watch before returning to the Watchmaster to deliver a report on the nights events.
Huron Stahlmast happily heads to the lift and goes down to tinker on the Archon Confabulator.
The party heads outside with their captive and stuffs him into the carriage.
Now do you look for a local City guard or escort the captive directly to Gearhole Prison in the Lower Tier? As residents of Hupperdook all of you know where the prison is located.
Unless his associates oppose themselves to this, Nathaniel would take them and their captive in the carriage from the manse, placing it where it can be found by it's rightful owner, then escorting their captive by foot, down the elevator and to the Gearhole Prison, explaining he is an important prisoner that might come under attack by those who want to silence him and that he was caught breaking into the Heikenar manse. Nathaniel would then want to proceed to the Watchmaster to debrief.
In the Lower Tier the rainstorm has let up and the streets are filled with muddy puddles. Black acrid smoke can still be seen from some of the workshops scattered in the Lower Tier. On the far western area in the Lower Tier is Gearhole Prison partially carved out of the mountain side with thick 10ft metal plates along the wall and 2 sets of double doors. One for medium sized creatures and another for gnomes. Both doors seem sturdier than the metal plates on the wall. Bright lights shine down from the guard towers making the prison look like some fearsome beast.
Perhaps some of you have dismal memories of this place where hard labor is part of the daily routine.
You see the Crownsguard high up on the battlements and the City guards by the 2 heavy metal doors.
"Everyone is checked for their citizenship papers before entering or leaving Hupperdook. I assume since he is standing in Hupperdook he is a citizen. Explain who you are and what are you doing here at Gearhole Prison." says the Guard. He has a hand on the hilt of his blade.
"You do realize that we are at war, don't you? Enemies forge papers. Spies infiltrate," Gavyn says. "This man is one such enemy of the king. We are here to remand him into your custody."
"I am aware we are at war as my own brother is fighting on the frontlines. Now who are you? Obviously, you don't work for the City Guard or Crownsguard. Don't you see how suspicious it is for a group of people dragging a captive through the city seems. Everyone here form a line and take out your papers. This will be an official inspection." says the Guard
"You all realize we could have called the crownsguard instead of bringing him here, right?" he says lightly, before doing as the guard commands. He holds out his papers that declare him a citizen and student here within the empire.
Wishing the stalwart tortle would be a bit more smooth in his social interaction, the pale tiefling produces his papers, steppong closer to the city guardsman. "Apologies, we have been through a lot this night. This man was apprehended while breaking into the Heikenar manse to steal a dangerous design there, Huron herself can verify this if you send someone there to investigate. You would need to take this man into custody to where his superior will not be able to silence him though and fairly quickly." He explains with firm tone but a polite smile, hoping to calm the guard.
The guard looks to Nathaniel and then to the strange man who don't seem like any regular human with all the changed he has undergone. "Alright I will take him inside and make sure he is locked up tight. Herman! take him in while I finish my inspection" The other guard moves forward and takes custody of the tied-up man. As he examines everyone's papers you notice he is jotting down notes on a small notepad with a pen.
"I believe I have everything I need. It goes without saying that I or another guard may call each of you in to file an official report. I advise each of you not to leave the city anytime soon." He then stops as he looks at Nathaniel's papers. "You're a noble? Pardon my rudeness. I was just doing my duties." the guard offers a polite bow.
"Oh, you were only doing your job, a commendable one at that." The pale winged tiefling says with polite smile. "We should go on though but I can assure you we will all cooperate with your investigation." He adds, ready to head on to the Watchmaster's office.
The party leaves Gearghole Prison and after 20 minutes of walking they make it back to the Watchmaster's office. Bram Gulchswattle lets everyone into his office, and he barely waits for everyone to settle down before asking "Report. Did you thwart the theft or figure out who are involved?"
The pale tiefling slumps down in any seat available after helping himself to any strong drink he can find in the office, then delivering his report, going through the night in some detail from the Blushing Bordello to the bookshop and to the Heikenar manse, pointing out the situation with the captive being held at Gearhole Prison, the Judicator still free to pursue her dark agenda while Huron Stahlmast still holds the Archon Confabulator. "Now if you don't mind I think we could all do with some rest and recuperation now." He ends with a tired smile.

Kaelen just sighs as he follows his companions and watches the interaction with the guard. He just follows lining up as he pulls out his papers.

There is a half-eaten sandwich on his desk and his mountain of paperwork has decreased to more of a gentle hill of paperwork.
