(Lol I forgot that half of you didn't actually meet/talk to these two. *Facepalm*)

Cassian freezes momentarily at Kit's words, but otherwise ignores  you all as he slowly turns to look at you, tears glistening in his eyes. “Oh. How unfortunate. You were not supposed to make it this far.” He places a hand on his head, “How far must I go?” He grits his teeth and stands. Voice quivering with anger, regret, and grief, he lowers Elenor's head to the hard ground. 

As he stands, you all get a look at Elenor. You were to late, just like the dragonborn bounty hunter, a thorny rose has sprouted from her chest...

“As far as I must. I will do what I must.” He draws his sword, now his voice seems to harden. “I’m so close…” Then he starts approaching you...

“That’s enough Cassian.” The paladin stops dead in his tracks, as a female voice sounds from deeper inside the room. He starts to turn around, and suddenly a thin vine shoots through his chest.

“But…you promised.” He chokes, then the vines yank him towards the back of the room where a mass of roots and vines coil around a pale elven woman with blood red eyes.

With this sudden movement, your attention is no longer just on the traitorous knight. Now you take in the full expanse of the room. You can see that the walls are covered in vines and roots, and so is the ceiling. On top of this, there seem to be bodies on the walls and hanging from the ceiling, wrapped in vines similar to the way a spider saves it’s food.

The Woman laughs, “Yes, I promised you would see your precious wife again.” She grasps Cassian’s chin, and more vines grow around the armored elf. “And you will. In the afterlife.” She releases his face, and the vines yank him down into the ground.

She then turns her red gaze to the party and smiles, showing pointed fangs. "More little insects come to their deaths. Ah..your sacrifice will not go to waste. You bring the final piece. With your blood I will be freed." Here eyes turn to Kit and then Thar as she says her last line. The vines holding her writhe forming a thorny makeshift garment as she begins stalking towards you.

The woman, who you may have guessed to be Rose Withermore, sneers at Omen. "Your fire will not harm me Mortal. I am not such a fragile flower." Then she dashes towards Kit intending to grapple the other woman.

If she successfully grapples her, she tries to Bite Kit

Kit reaches for her sword a moment too late, barely avoids her opponents clutches, and finally frees the blade. Taking a half-step back she drops into a two-handed stance and then flashes forward at her opponent...

Rose snarls after failing to grab Kit only to have the half-elf woman land a heavy blow to the fanged elf. The blow is enough to make her stagger slightly, though she recovers quickly. Unable to find any specific weakness, Omen opts to just stab the elf. His blow sinks deep into her skin.

Then Thar uses his rune... Rose's eyes widen before she dashes back over to where Cassian's body had been pulled into the mass of vines. The vines then open to reveal his upper body, however she lunges towards him and sinks her teeth into his neck, if he wasn't dead before... he is now. Then she turns to look back at you all, grinning. "Think your cleaver do you? I was planning on tasting his blood after hers, but ah well." Her eyes lock back on Kit for a moment, then look to Omen. Perhaps she should squash these insects before trying to enjoy her meal. 

She races towards omen and slashes him with her clawed hands.

"OMEN!!!"

Logically, Kit knows the Kenku can hold his own in a fight. She's seen it before, in the back alleys of Baldur's Gate, but the situation brings the memories flooding back...

The fire, the blood, and the screams. Belton dashing off into the dark. Galen holding the door...

Deciding to leave them to die so that Eila would live.

She does now what she did then. Grabbing the Kenku and pulling him out of harm's way. Protecting his body with her own. Pulling him back safely behind Thar.

But this time, she won't run.

Releasing Omen she squares up against the Elf-Witch shoulder to shoulder with Thar and adjusts her sword back into the two-handed ready position.

"Get her, big guy," she says with a cavalier smirk.

(Grapple attempt on Omen 8, movement 15' back to Thar. Since Omen's not moving under his own power he should be immune to any opportunity attacks, though Kit is still at risk. Bonus Action is 1d6 Bardic Inspiration on Thar. End of turn)

OOC: So if either Thar or Kit was within 5ft of the woman when Omen attacked, he should have been able to add sneak attack damage for 10. Not sure if it applies though so ignore it if no one was that close. I had kind of posted a bit out of order so I apologize.

Omen barley has time to remove his dagger from Rose's back before she is able to turn around and rake a claw across his face. His top hat is knocked off of his head and deep wounds are carved across his face and etched into his beak. Luckily the kenku is able to quickly avoid the second attack before being pulled backwards away from the creature. Knowing Kit, Omen wouldn't fight against the grapple even if it did surprise him a bit. "Damn it child! You stay back... Your wife will kill me if anything happens to you." The kenku grumbles as blood runs down his face and drips from the tip of his beak. 

(Kit did attack Rose before Omen's initiative, so the sneak attack damage definitely should have applied)

"You both stay behind me!" yells Thar to his companions, moving his glaive with haste he impacts the creature several times, using both the magic of his patron and the runes inscribed on his gear to help him inflict as much damage as he could to her. 
As he swings his glaive he utters a word with a gutural voice and sparks of lighting crosses the shaft of the weapon towards the edge of the blade and it carried more power when cutting her. A rune glowed with fiery intensity and a pair of fiery shackles appeared around the woman's wrist, trying to hold her down, but with a hiss she broke them. Cursing, Thar keep on the pressure, trying to hit her as many times as he could, covering the retreat of his friends behind him. 
 

When she moved in again he was ready, and hit her again with his glaive, lighting again empowering the force of his attack.

Omen would drop his torch and draw his rapier. With a weapon in both hands, he would wait until his companions attack before striking the enemy from behind once more!

Seeing that his friends are cornering the creature, Thar attacks it again trying to cut her head off. Increasing his size he can barely has to move to make his attack- Sparks of lighting still jumping from the blade of his weapon.

"Futile" The witch hisses as Kit barrels into Omen in an attempt to protect him.

As Omen tries to hit her once more is first attack misses, but his second sinks deep into her flesh. She barely flinches. Suddenly Thar grows to a massive size. His greatsword swings down towards her, seeking to sever her head. 

Blood splashes everywhere, however it is not from Rose. At the last moment vines shot up out of the ground, blocking Thar's blade before it had time to come into contact with her. She turns her head and grins at him. She would have been beautiful, with her auburn hair, lightly tanned skin, and pointed ears, but nothing can hide the monster within her, one that shows itself through her pointed teeth and bloodshot eyes. "Ah yes. Don't think I had forgotten about you. You hold the blood of my ancestors as well."

With that vines erupt from the floor at Thar's feet seeking to hold his giant form. (Thar, make a dex save of 17 or be grappled by the vines.)

Without waiting to see if the vines successfully trap the giant bugbear, the witch charges Kit once again, she tries to slash her with a clawed hand.
