The interior of Castle Grayskull was dark, with light having barely filtered past beyond the foyer and central chamber in eons. The Sorceress had rarely needed to descend into the bowels of the castle more often than that. Now though, with the Slayer awakened from his eons long slumber to do violence on behalf of the people of Hyboria, she hung back in the darker reaches of the hall, the Unchained Predator all that was standing between her and the undead shambling their way...
"Rip and tear," She said, her voice soft but powerful as she stood behind the champion, "Until it is done."
The zombies shambled around the corner, moaning, snarling as they locked eyes upon their quarry, and stumbled along toward the Slayer...
The Doom Slayer, disoriented after waking from his slumber, follows the Sorceress blindly through the castle. She tells him of what is happening, but there is still confusion. Then, he hears the words."Rip and tear," He knows these words. He looks up and sees.... Red and guts and fire and blood and.... then he see the hallway again. The zombies coming towards him. Rip and tear.... Yes... That is his purpose.
He takes a step forward and almost falls. He's weak. Weaker than he's felt in a long time. He needs to be smart. He pulls his handaxe out moves and moves forward. He keeps his back to the wall to prevent them from completely surrounding him and focuses on defense. He throws the axe once he's in range, striking true with a resounding thud. Then, he draws his sword and waits.
Movement: 25ft with back towards the wall. Action: Dodge LA: Throw Handaxe, To Hit 27, Damage 12 slashing
The zombie groans as the axe lands in its chest and sticks, the sound of the cracking ribs and sternum loud in the hall, even over the sound of the moaning of the others. It makes a futile attempt to slash the Slayer with the boney remains of fingers. All of them push down and prepare to encircle the Slayer...
Rip and Tear! Yes... But still weak. Need to be careful, otherwise these abominations will take me. But...must let them know fear! The Doom Slayer raises his sword behind his shield. A green flame engulfs it as he swings it down to the wounded zombie (1). The flame jumps to the zombie (2) next to it. He raises his sword again, engulfing it in the green flame again. He steps forward and slashes down to zombie 2, with the green flame jumping back to zombie 1.
If Glory Kill is an option.
As the zombie staggers, he slams his shield into its mouth. With a twist and pull, he pops the top of its head off!
Then he moves back, allowing the zombies to come to him.
Action: Green-Flame Blade To Hit Zombie 1: 16. Damage 10 Slashing + 3 Fire to Zombie 2. LA: Green-Flame Blade To Hit Zombie 2: 27. Damage 13 Slashing + 3 Fire to Zombie 1. Bonus Action?: Glory Kill To Hit: 18. Damage 7 Bludgeoning. Movement: 1 Hex down then 5 Hexes Back.
The blade cleaves Zombie 1's head in half, even as green fire licks the zombie next to it. The second slash, and following flash of fire, staggers the second zombie, before the shield breaks the teeth from its mouth, and the upward thrust pulls its head free with strands of sinew following...
As the Slayer falls back to a safe distance, the surviving three zombies swarm after him...and another stumbles around the corner in the hall...

The Doom Slayer moves forward and slashes down with his blade, striking zombie 3 viciously. The blade gets stuck half way down, so he wedges his shield in the wound and finishes ripping the zombie in half (Glory Kill). RIP AND TEAR!
He then gets ready to attack the next zombie that gets close, coating his blade in green flames again.

As the Doom Slayer obliterates the third zombie, a puff of dust and green gas escapes into the air around it. The other zombies don't take heed of this, nor the fury of the Slayer, as they move to close range. Both zombies swipe their hands at the Slayer, with one of them missing completely, and the other's hand bouncing uselessly off his armor while the sixth zombie continues its stumbling advance.
As the fourth zombie comes within range, the Slayer stabs it with his readied attack...

The dust from the zombie get's into the Slayer's eyes, blocking his vision. But this doesn't stop him. He has to continue. He raises his sword, again bathing it in a green flame. He swipes down, unsure if he succeeded in hitting zombie 4 due to the dust. Damn zombies. Need to defend.

The flaming green blade carves through the zombie with little trouble, while the magical flames lick the next closest zombie. Green fire is still crawling across its arm as it swipes at the Slayer's throat, burning and slicing him viciously between the gaps in his armor, although the other zombie is unable to do any damage at all...

When the fifth zombie staggers and goes down, its head breaks with surprising give, splattering the wall with dried brains and bone fragments. Green fire licks the sixth zombie before the sword carves into it. The zombie staggers as it swipes the air at the Slayer, then trips over its own bumbling feet and goes prone.
When the sixth zombie dies, the Sorceress and the Slayer press on, toward the broken doors of the mighty Castle Grayskull.
"Your first stop should be Bavmorda." She says as the cold winds of the dying Shem Desert crawl into the castle through the busted entrance. "Her magic has been influential in breaking open the portal between realms and allowing Subternian energy into Hyboria. The portal she has opened is temporary...for now. If we can't get it closed, and soon, it'll be a much more permanent problem."
She reaches out, and gently puts her hand in the center of his breastplate. With a shimmer and a flash of bright light, she leaves an emblazoned skull there, much like the yawning mouth that is the entrance to the castle.
"With this, I'll be able to contact you and guide you wherever you are. I'll defend the castle from here. Something tells me that DOOM has a bigger problem to pursue than me at the moment..."
As she says this, two zombies, moaning and emerging from the waste, begin to shamble up the steps, followed by a corpse carrying a sword.
The Slayer listens to the sorceress speak. As he does a memory jump to mind; walking through a similar corridor with another person. Then back to present, but feeling some of his strength returned. He stops and adjusted something on his armor and sword quickly. They briefly glow with red flames. Good, that will help.
Bavmorda will be good next destination. He looks to the skull on his chest. He raps on it twice with his fist and nods to the Sorceress.
Then he looks to the new meat. He draws his blade, covering it with green flame and begins to move. He needs some cover. Take out the zombies first. As he gets past the statue, he sees the fiend. No time to change tactics now.
He attacks zombie 1, with the fire jumping to zombie 2. He is about to attack again, but stops and takes a defensive position instead.
LA: Attack zombie 1. to hit 16, damage 10 + 3 fire to zombie 2
The Slayer's sword bites hard into one zombie before splashing the other in flames. As this happens, another corpse, outfitted in armor, including a shield, and swinging a sword, crosses the stairs after him and tries to knock him flat with his shield...but bounces harmlessly off the Slayer's armor.
As the Slayer passes the statue, he sees the fiend that is emerging from the hellish portal opened there, but it quickly closes the portal behind itself and disappears into thin air...
