Zander feels the oppressive wave over him but is able to push it aside (CON Save 24).
"I can use my echo to move the toy into the box." pausing for a moment. "I don't think it would harm me through my echo, but this has never been done before, so I can't say."
Looking over to the toy sitting there, he adds "I'm willing to try it."

"Sure, you do that so we can be done with this."The red-haired and quite frail half-elf says, sounding a bit strained, feeling the oppressiveness overcome her.
Yasmina looks up at the reassuring tiefling. "Listen to you, all optimistic." The red-haired half-elf says with a weak but teasing smile. "It's all good, I just don't think Firion will give up his mad schemes this easily." She adds, then glancing over to see how the green-clad one did with the box.

It seems that only the frail red-headed half-elf was actually affected by the oppressive force of dark magic. Fortunately, everyone realized what was happening before it could go any farther. Zander sends his echo to toss the VCT into the lead-lined box before it could do anything worse. It has a brief moment in which it is able to shove the object into the box, before the echo takes 9 necrotic damage and winks out of existence (since it only has 1 hit point).
The VCT is now in the box, and can be (relatively) safely stowed inside of the bag of holding. Duwamilly probably was working on her new toy for about 15 minutes before everyone started to notice the oppressive feeling of dark magic in the air. What will our formerly-accursed heroes do next?

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
With the object safely stowed, Delvindra's tail relaxes and begins to uncoil from her leg.
"Well, we've done what we came here to do,"she says matter-of-factly, "we should probably get that safely into Lord Akkron's hands as quickly as possible."
But as her attention turns from the box to Yasmina and Duwamilly her certainty visibly wavers, "but there's no rush. We can take all of the time we need to. Maybe a good meal, some wine, and a comfortable night's rest first?"
"Delvindra, honey, that sounds like a really good idea to me!" Duwamilly approves "As Yasmina rightly observed, that scamp Firion will certainly try to interfere - after all, we are easier to deal with than Lord Akkron - so even if he risked his sanity or his life the last time he faced us, he will probably be desperate enough by now to try to face us again".
"I still can't open a portal directly to the Shaded Isle, so if I open a portal now and we set off... we risk the super-scamp intercepting us before we reach our destination. And right now I'm not exactly at top form" the ex-preceptor reasons. "I therefore suggest that we take a night's rest in the Radiant Citadel - where perhaps the overpowered scamp will have more qualms about intervening (or less chances to do so) - and tomorrow try to open a portal to Fox's ship again, like last time".
"At that point, at least, if the scamp Firion comes looking for trouble..." the gnome cleric concludes "we will be in a better position to oblige!"
The red-haired half-elf smiles as she hears the tiefling suggest they should allow themselves some comfort, wondering what her sisters at the cloister would say about these sacrilegous thoughts, there was hope for the tiefling still it seemed."Well you all know I won't turn down a good meal and wine and a soft bed but we should still expects Firion to try to attack us here so as long as we carry that box we must be very cautious in everything we do. I would actually have preferred to leave the box to the lich before celebrating but I understand if you don't feel ready to return to the Shaded isle yet Milly." Yasmina says with a firm tone.
Cal will drop to his knees and begin to sob as the bloodlust that has hunted him for so long has left him but he realizes that he is now truly alone in this vast universe. He will not be much help to the other folks.
"Yes, Yasmina, I even think we should all sleep in the same room and take guard shifts..." Planerunner confirms, in an unusually tired voice "If the super-scamp visits us anyway, Garl Glittergold will give me the strength to prank him all the same!" she smiles "But I'm at my very limits, right now... In this state, casting a spell could be painful - or even dangerous - for me. So, I still hope that his visit is more unlikely here than on the Prime Material Plane, which he knows better and where he has more allies. Tomorrow... I'll be able to prank him with more pleasure and less danger".
"Hey! Cal, honey..." the ex-preceptor finds the strength to worry, approaching the sobbing colossus "Don't worry, come on..." she hugs him and tries to console and lull him - even if the visible effect is probably a little unusual - the same as a child trying to lull an adult "Has this experience put a strain on you too? After a night's sleep you'll be great, you'll see... Also because I have to say that you're already 'great'. Or at least 'big'. But even 'great', to tell the truth... without you to defend us, I don't think we would have gotten very far! Oh, but I digress - anyway you understand the meaning of what I'm telling you, right? Don't let it get you down, sleep on it, and this too shall pass!"
Delvindra watches Duwamilly awkwardly try and console the warrior and wants to intervene. To remind him that suffering is holy and that the best way to honor his lost loved ones is to continue to endure in their names. But she lacks the Gnome's gift for words.
And, truth being told, she no longer believes it.
Instead, she places a hand on Cal's shoulder and looks to Zander and Yasmina for assistance.
Zander walks over to Cal and holds out his hand. "Come my friend, we have much to do and a long time grow into our past power levels. But, rest assured, we will be stronger now that the curses are gone."
So, if the party is in agreement, you return to the Radiant Citadel. Your entire trip took about two and a half hours (and cost you 150 GP for the rental of the ship).
It isn't especially difficult to find an inn; it will cost you 10 gp for a nights lodging (per room) if you wish to take the aforementioned Long Rest. It might get a bit cramped to stuff all five of you into a single room, but you could probably do it if you wanted to (though there certainly wouldn't be enough beds for everyone).

Yasmina would use some of the gold she got for the magical trinkets she sold off earlier to pay for the rental of the weird vessel. Later at the inn she suggests perhaps they can have the rooms next to each other, at least letting the snoring boys have a room of their own. She would accept what the team decides though but making sure to order the best food and wine the inn can offer, also hoping for some entertainment to take her thoughts of what lies ahead. The curse being lifted was certainly something worth celebrating though and her relief is slowly turning her exhilarated, ready to revel, just for one night.
Duwamilly certainly approves of the celebrations and is very ready to participate... but advises, out of prudence, that everyone sleep in the same room anyway. After all, isn't a problem if there aren't enough beds for everyone, since the party is taking shifts. And while she hopes there won't be any 'surprises' during the night... she'd prefer if the party were already gathered in one place, if that's the case - that would make everything easier, both to fight and to escape.

"Hey, are you okay," the Tiefling asks as she lightly places a hand on the scarlet-haired Half-Elf's shoulder.
"I know it's unsettling but it's almost done. Then we'll be free of it. All of it. Forever."
I hope, she thinks to herself as she reaches once again into her mind for any trace of the voices.
Delvindra reaches into her mind, searching for the dark voices and finds... silence. Sweet silence.

The Tiefling wants to find a retort, it's as clear as the horns on her head, but anything she can think of would just be a pleasant lie.
"We wouldn't want him to, would we? He has too many lives to answer for."
