OOC: K, so I'm looking at Godrick's ability modifiers, and he has a +5 Deception. I'm going to try to convince the spy that I'm with Firion, and that I'm undercover going along with the rest of the group. He will have told Duwamilly and Wyvern about this, but not anyone else.
Godrick walks to the room where Yasmina and Delvindra stands guard.
"Heeeeeeeeeeeeey Yasmina and Delvi, is it ok if I call you that?. Could I ask you to go on, I guess a break for a bit? I need to talk to our little spy friend over here." In a whisper: "More like an interrogation. I got permission from Milly and Wyvern. Go ask Milly what's going on, but I need some alone time with him."
But the message... it's vocal, right? When the spy was sending the message to Firion, we heard her speak, do I remember correctly? It's the fact that the message was vocal that led me to think about imitating the voice. Or, even though the spy used item by speaking, the voice had nothing to do with it?
From the spell's description:
"You send a short message of twenty-five words or less to a creature with which you are familiar. The creature hears the message in its mind, recognizes you as the sender if it knows you, and can answer in a like manner immediately."
So the way I read it, even though the recipient may hear a voice that could be disguised, he or she will still magically know who sent the message.

"No, I don't think so Godrick, in fact you are the last person on this ship that I would want alone with that prisoner."Yasmina says dryly as she sits back against a wall with a glass of wine, having a quiet conversation with Delvindra. "If you have a good reason for seeing him we could discuss this in the morning, all of us together."
"You may NOT call me Delvi," the Tiefling says as she rises to her feet, "and I'm with Yasmina on this. Why exactly do you need to see him in private?"
OOC @Mister_Whisker: Can the spy hear us from where he's being held?
Depends... if you're standing right outside the door then yes. But there is enough space below deck that you could feasibly move some distance away so that you can speak freely (so long as you keep your voice down) while still being able to see the door.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
"Oh, Godrick would try to lure the prisoner to give Firion false infromations. You know, the magic stone the spy was using..."Duwamilly explains, lowering her voice so that said prisoner can't hear. "Should one of us just use it, Firion might get suspicious, knowing it's not his spy speaking. But if the spy could be brought to use the device and send false infromations...That might buy us time..."
"So Godrick of all people is supposed to somehow convince the spy to send false information?" Yasmina says, sounding quite skeptical about the idea. "So far I have seen nothing from him that makes me want to trust him with such a delicate matter."She says plainly. "What makes you trust him with this Milly? He has behaved like a total moron since we picked him and his volatile cousin up on the road to Tormere."The red-haired Half-Elf says, looking between the ex-preceptor and where she believes the Dragonborn to be.
"This was rude, Yasmina..." Duwamilly frowns, fixing her brown eyes on her "What's the matter? Is your curse troubling you very much? Do you feel worse than usual?" she becomes a little concerned "Anyway, whatever the reason, we are all in this..." she tries to sweeten her tone "and I think that insulting us each other will hardly help, don't you?"
Regarding the geas subject, the ex-Preceptor replies to Delvindra: "I'm not an expert of magic, but Godrick's idea was to bluff the spy, not to force him... I hope the spell will not kick in, if the subject is not aware that he is hindering his master's plot. I hope" she repeats, to be clear. "It is just a try".
Yasmina gives Milly an incredulous look, standing up and walking over to the ex-preceptor. "Yes, my curse is troubling me very much Milly, I'd hope that would be clear by now, I wouldn't be on this ship on my way to serve a Lich if my curse wasn't troubling me very much and you already know this. What should be more concerning is why anyone who was not very much troubled by their curse is here at all." She says with a glare, looking down at the gnome. "I'm quite aware it is typically rude to call someone a moron but if someone deliberately tries to act like one it might even be a compliment to their achievement, don't you think. So instead of patronizing me about how I feel you could try to answer my question; what makes you trust Godrick with this?" She says, quite exasparated now.
"Look, just think this through now, Firion is obviously no fool. He already knew we were on this ship and he had managed to place a spy here even though we only chose this ship the same morning as we departed from Tormere. He is also aware we have discovered his spy so that he can't rely on him anymore. It would be ludicrous to think he is not capable of scrying on us, maybe even watching and listening in on us right now. The only reason I can see he has not simply teleported here to take what he wants is that he respects the powers of the artefacts we carry. Now, what information would we feed him that he wouldn't immediately see through or at the least quickly find out was not true? The reason I ask this is that the only thing I can see coming out of this, particularly if you send Godrick in there, is that we reveal more about ourselves than Firion already knows, but more importantly, how sure are you that one of us would not give in to the temptation of having Firion free us from our curse if he had the opportunity to communicate with us and feed us his insidious lies and use his insdious magic on us?"She continues, pacing the room, stopping as she finishes to look at the ex-preceptor and then the others present.
"Heey! I'm not a total moron! And as a bard, I'm not only trained in the musical arts, but also in the art of acting." *Insert Jazz Hands* "And Firion already tried to contact Wyvern and I before, but his people never got around to telling us what they wanted! I can claim to now know what he wants, and that I want in, with caution of course. I'm planning on putting my acting practice into place here, and convince the spy to help us."
"Of course you're not!" Planerunner assures, in the general direction the invisible dragonborn should be “We all have our differences, our strengths, and our places where… we have room for improvement”.
She then turns her attention back to Yasmina.
“You're not answering either, Yasmina, about how insulting each other is supposed to help us” Duwamilly sighs, holding the gaze easily; short, petite and sprinkled with fragrant floral blossoms, she is certainly not a figure that inspires awe or threat... but her serene gaze seems that of someone who has encountered worse threats than an interlocutor taller than her in disagreement. "And I could point out to you that there is a difference between 'patronize' and 'worry' - believe it or not, but I care about how you are, Yasmina. And I could also point out to you that even if 'honey' is not certain a bad word, the fact that it displeased you to hear it was enough to make me avoid using it with you. So I suppose that you too could show each of us the courtesy of not calling them something that displeases them - or, worse, that offends them".
"Anyway, stopping pointing out and coming instead to the subject of our curses, which, I'm sure, we all want to free ourselves from... Firion's powers are certainly great" the ex-Preceptor concedes, now speaking to everyone in general. "And yet, even these have their limits - or we would now be nothing more than scorched specks on the floor of the temple of Ilmater. Instead, in that temple, in direct confrontation, Firion risked his sanity and his life - and was defeated".
"His readiness to infiltrate the spy in poor Rupert's place was actually surprising and makes us understand how cunning, resourceful and ruthless he is" the gnome cleric admits. "However, this is also further confirmation of his limitations. If he had to infiltrate a spy... this means that he needed it. Either he has no way of spying on us directly - at least not continuously, or he has other plots to advance. Let's keep in mind that he is also at the head of a kingdom - usurped and therefore to be kept subdued - and regarding his project of 'good morning great dragon, arise and shine' it is not at all certain that he has everything ready and all he is missing is our objects - he could have still a lot of activity going on on that project. If he has to spy on us, he cannot advance on other fronts".
"For this reason," Duwamilly concludes "I would be willing to contemplate the remote possibility that Firion may not be entirely aware of the spy's fate - and may be temporarily misled (buying us a few time), if we can mislead the spy. On the contrary, to me personally, it seems less likely that any of us could let ourselves be influenced or convinced by a ruthless and evil person like Firion. For this reason, in my opinion, it was worth at least making the attempt. Regarding the fact of having Godrick or someone else try to deceive the spy, for me there's no problem... Godrick volunteered, he had an idea of how to do it... as far as I'm concerned, it seems to me that letting him try brings more possible benefits than possible troubles. But, obviously, if there is another person who thinks they can do better than Godrick (or they can help Godrick)... or that simply sees things another way... why not? We could get together for a moment and consider courses of action, kids, what do you think? Then we vote and follow the course of action we like best. We are all together in this, whether we like it or not..."
"Are you serious? Did you expect me to answer that question? It's like I would ask you if your jokes helps our mission. No, of course I don't expect an insult to help us, and I never claimed it would. As it is it could still be debated if it was in fact an insult in this case, Godrick seems to concede to that he is at least a partial moron. The point of calling him a moron was to see if he would understand how I feel about what he has shown so far and as you can hear even with what you consider an insult he will still just try to make a joke of it." Yasmina says, anger only rising now, turning briefly to Godrick to make an exaggerated jazz hands accompanied by an angry glare.
The red-haired Half-elf then steps over at a corner, leaning back with her arms crossed over her chest as the ex-preceptor continues.
"I'm still not hearing anything about in what way we would try to mislead Firion. Would we try to make the agent say we are no longer heading for the Shaded Isle? If we did that he wouldn't just accept that information, or any other we feed him for that matter, after being warned by his agent that we were on to him. Think about it, it would simply not work. Also, why do you find it less likely that anyone could be turned by Firion, especially considering the powerful magic he possesses, do you have anything but sheer optimism to back that up with? The only thing I can see is that those who were in the temple of Ilmater at least turned him down once, but the Dragonborn siblings weren't even there, and as we have heard they have not yet been tempted with an offer to join him yet. So what do you see in Godrick that makes you trust him with this?" Yasmina says to the ex-preceptor.

Oh, OK, I understand. Still, Godrick's idea seems worth trying... Let's see how this develops.

Duwamilly, hearing the desperate request of help, hastens to come, preceptorial wand in hand, fearing that Godrick might be in danger...
"Here I am! What happened? Did the spy escape?"
"Thank Ilmater, no. I believe Godrick to tell on us for not leaving him alone with the prisoner."
