Flinn comes back later than the others to the mansion. He said he had matters to attend, and after declining the offer for the crossbow, he walked away in the streets.
He entered the room and met the captains while the others were deliberating. When they entered the room to call for one of them to contine the negotiations he is engaged in a animated conversation with Captain Blythe, and the others have to insist that he comes with them and stop talking to her.
"One more day will make no difference I think " he says when they discuss the length of the travel, clearly thinking that spending one more day near the genasi sounds like an excellent idea "And my gut tells me that Fox will run away at the first sign of trouble... I mean is what his entire ship is made for... Blythe on the other side would not abandon us... Truthseeker is yelling at me right now, urging to pick the former navy captain but I am afraid that he will hang me from my thumbs before the first day... I definetly vote for Captain Blythe. "
"Well, maybe i was mistaken then. Anyway i do not think i connected with that man. He did not speak much but i have gotten the feeling that i made more repulsive impression rather than appealing one. You know when i was younger i used to hear a lot that i am charming and easy to talk to, i guess i lost some of that charm with years passing"
Hewelathan seems honestly sympathetic. He says, "Maybe it's your ring? I mean...with powerful magic, like my belt, it changes what you can do, you know?"
"One day, you claim this item and -- quite suddenly,"he says, squeezing his hands into fists and looking down at his arms, "you're different. And, well, that changes how you go through the world. And how others perceive you." He relaxes his hands and looks at Tytus. He says encouragingly, "In time, I'm sure you'll figure it out. Perhaps you've just changed, and you prefer to trick people now instead of charming them? Or perhaps you'll rediscover your charm -- maybe not the same boyish charm you had in your youth, but maybe you'll become a charismatic man of power and mystery?"
As before, Hewelathan is fine with either Captain Fox or Captain Blythe. If the group needs him to break a tie...
Hewelathan votes for Captain Blythe because of his interest in the water and the elements. He feels like there may be things he can learn Captain Blythe while aboard her ship.
- You know what? I'm changing my vote to Blythe, definitely. I'm curious to see where she'll hang Flinn from - Rhaenys says mischievously.
Stafford doesn't utter a single word in her head and instead chooses to transform her again. Into a kenku, this time. He's probably sad that the curse that allows him to change her shape only affects her appearance and doesn't force her to gain the new shape's skills, or she would be forced to communicate aloud using overheard phrases and sound effects to speak.
"Tsk tsk. I'd still have my Telepathic speech remember?"
Flinn smirks. "me too..." he replies to Rhaenys "...and thank yo...Oh my God!!!"" he screams when she turns into a kenku. "Sorry... you surprised me... "
Jodie chimes in, "Well, add my choice and I think we're going with Captain Blythe." Jodie bows to the other captains, "Thank you sirs for your timely response. We may call upon your service at another time."
Kenku-Rhaenys ruffles their feathers and then sqweaks, as if they were learning how to use their throat. Then, in a bird-like voice they say to Flinn: "itisnotmmmmewhodoes thisss, remembeeerr! Itsstaffordwwhhossstartledyou!". They sound sad.
Korba reaches into his pack for some crackers for the bird, but comes up empty handed. He instead nods to the others and says to the captain, "Is there anything we should prepare for our voyage? If not, I, at least, will be ready to leave at your earliest convenience."
FYI - I'll be afk for the next day or so, but should be back and posting again soon after.
With the votes in, it seems that the party has decided to go with the blue lady. The two men graciously accept your decision and depart, while Captain Blythe beams with pride.
"Excellent! Now... I heard that you need to go to the Shaded Isle... I've been there on a few occasions to deliver supplies to the colony. Undead don't bother the people who live there, but it might be a good idea to pick up holy water and stuff like that if you're going to go outside the city. Anyway, we can set sale at first light tomorrow, if that works for all of you. I can meet you there... it shouldn't be too hard to find me, there can't be all that many blue women wandering around in the area."
You folks have the rest of the day... are there any preparations you want to make before you set sail?

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Tytus now that he knows what is the price of voyage will use his remaining Gold to Buy Studded Leather Armor and if possible sell his Leather armor. He is going to take whatever the price is given for that Leather armor. He has no place in his inventory to carry it around anyway so he looks for a quick sell.
Other than that, Tytus would spend his evening Studying the book that he carries around in little chest. Scripture is not known to him, but he has a feeling like it is not the ind of book that needs to be read, but rather than that understood. He will experiment with reading his book close to the fire, and maybe try to put it a little to close to the fire, but being careful to not destroy it.

He is going to take whatever the price is given for that Leather armor. He has no place in his inventory to carry it around anyway so he looks for a quick sell.
When Tytus mentions his plan, Hewelathan says, "That's a fantastic idea, Tytus! I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Could I join you? If I have enough money, I'd like to do the same."
Update: I forgot that druids have medium armor proficiency. Since Hewelathan clearly has no shame or fashion sense, he'll probably save some coin and go with hide armor. If he survives to level 5, he'll probably stop wearing armor by then anyway.
"Captain!!"calls Flinn following Blythe out of the room "I was wondering... I have some remaining gold... and I can't think of a better way to free myself of its weight than having a dinner with a charming lady as you... would you accompany me tonight?"
Rhaenys is super sad! All they wanted was to enjoy a nice hot bath, but now that they're covered in feathers they just don't want to come near a hot tub anymore! What for, if they will not enjoy it? So they don't know whether to cry (how the hell do birds cry, anyway??) or to go to a tavern and drink themselves to sleep, or to sit down and just look at the waves come and go.
In the end they hear Hewelathanand Tytusspeak about purchasing things so the bird-like creature just follows them around. They don't know what to buy, but perhaps visiting some stores will make them happy again.
OOC: I really don't know if I'll buy anything. Can't think anything Rhaenys would need right now. But I'll just look curiously to see if anything interesting (not necessarily useful) appears. Perception: 17. And if I need to buy anything in the end, I'll ask Hewelathanto buy it for me using the telepathic speech and adding a "pretty please!" at the end.
"I have some connections with ravens..." Korba says to his sad looking feathered friend, "Come let us explore this place together before we head out tomorrow. Is there anything you would like to eat? Does wine suit the pallet of that form?"
The kenku does let out an excited squeak and claps their feathered hands.
Korba hears in his mind: "Wine ALWAYS suits my palate!! Let's go! Please! I don't even care how I'll look. The more wine, the less I'll care. Regarding food: does wine and cheese sound good to you? And have you ever tried mixing cheese with grapes? It's delicious! I bet combininig that with wine will rock!"
Kenku-Rhaenys begins to walk towards ... somewhere. Until they realize they don't know where to go. So they stop, turn around and wait for Korba to lead the way. Then they add, telepathically:
"But don't let me do anything crazy. Or "too" crazy, okay? I trust you!"
Stafford remains silent.
OOC: did I say anything about purchases? Nope, can't quite remember. And I've removed the 45g. Yes!
Korba pats the bird next to him and says ((can he reply mentally?)), "Well then! Let us see what we can find in this town for a bit of relaxation. I've really spent very little time top side..."Giving his coin to the captain he says, "We'll see you in the morning ready to sail. Flinn is quite the gentleman, and perhaps you can share information that both of us can use... now... where is a good place for a drink and some cheese to soak up some flavor and stars?..."
The Captain hesitates a moment, studying the young Paladin, then she grins.
"Well... I would normally be hesitant to fratrinize right before sailing... but who am I to say no to a man chosen by the gods? I'll be at the docks when you're ready to come sweep me off my feet."
She gives Flinn a wink before she continues to her ship.

Jodie feels the weight of her extra gold, "I know I keep changing weapons, but I feel like these bracers are eventually going to help me shoot better. And while I've got the gold, I may as well get a bigger bow..."
Jodie sells her Shortbow and to get a Longbow and of course haggles (20) She will keep her hand crossbow for later, stowing it either on the ship or with Lady Edora if she's accommodate a "few girl things". Jodie already picked up a healers kit.
"Stars, huh? Guess there aren't stars where you fare from? Hadn't thought about that. Pretty sure we can find a place where we can see them in all their splendor. Yeah!"
Rolling 1d2. Even = Stafford is nice and Rhaenys will be able to see the stars with her own eyes. Odd: Kenku-Rhaenys will see them.
