... and as she does that, she feels the arcane weaving that connects her to the restrained creature pulse whenever the dragonnel attempts to free itself. She warns the rest:

Rhaenys' round 4: Action: Trying to keep the Telekinesis up. Movement: as she keeps the grip, she moves a little to be again next to the wooden crates (in case the dragonnel frees itself).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The dragonnel lashes out with its claws. Wolf-Hewelathan easily dodges out of the way of the dragonnel's first attack, but he gets a little overconfident and steps right into the path of the other. Thankfully, the dragonnel hits him at an awkward angle and only makes a shallow cut on his shoulder.
Hewelathan: Round 4
Hewelathan glances around and sees that most of their opponents have already been killed, and the other dragonnel near him is pinned against the deck's railing, struggling against an invisible force. He doesn't want to kill the remaining dragonnel (#1) if they don't have to. On the other hand, he doesn't want it to get away either. Wolf-Hewelathan pounces on the dragonnel, trying to grab its neck in his mouth while using his paws to knock it down. He's careful not to bite too hard, just trying to knock it out so that they can tie it up.
If he succeeds in knocking out the dragonnel, he goes briefly to Flinn, grabs the end of Flinn's rope in his mouth, and gives it a brief tug. Then he moves to stand adjacent to dragonnel #2, giving it a hard stare and baring his teeth. (He'll risk getting attacked by it. He wants to be close enough that if it manages to escape Rhaenys's telekinetic grip, he can get an opportunity attack if it tries to flee.)
Movement: If he succeeds in knocking it out dragonnel #1, he moves to stand adjacent to the dragonnel #2, the one that Rhaenys is restraining. Action: Melee Weapon Attack, Bite: 27 (with advantage from pack tactics), Damage: 17 piercing If it's still alive, the dragonnel must succeed on a STR saving throw (DC 13) or be knocked prone. Free Action: Item interaction: tug on a rope. Glaring at dragonnel #2.
With a vicious shake, Hewelathan throws Dragonnel #1 to the ground, knocking it out cold.
Guards are up now... they rush over to help the party with whatever you want to do next.
The dragonnel remains pinned in place, flailing and roaring with frustration! (As I read it, the contested roll for telekinesis only happens on the caster's turn). I'll go ahead and say that on a successful grapple attempt, with the help of four guards, you'll be able to restrain the monster and finish the fight.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
With the last of the draconian beasts pinned down or uncouscious Flinn drops to his knees, bleeding from multiple small wounds he breaths heavily trying to catch his breath.
“Is… is everyone alright?” He asks, looking around to see if anyone is ok or needs help. He is still feeling the power that ran across his body when he struck down the cultist and surprisingly to himself the main feeling that he feels is… humility. Humility for had been chosen to canalize such divine power into the mortal world. But still he needs to check if his friends are ok.
“There is still hope for you boy…” he can hear in the back of his mind.
Rhaenys draws a relieved breath. She's still keeping the telekinetic grip on the second dragonnel, but it feels much easier now that she can count with the guards' help.
- You guys all right? - she asks the companions. The changeling had luckily remained unscathed, but the rest had all suffered several injuries that were going to need some tending - Ummm, sorry to ask you this when you are still hurt but I think we should finish what Hewelathan started and tie these nice creatures until we figure out what to do with them. Anyone knows to to make these dragonnels friendly to us? - she thinks for a moment and an idea comes to her head - Though ... perhaps these cultists had something on themselves that helped control the dragonnels? Even if that isn't the case, they may have something useful that could help us ...
(OOC: Not sure if I can help investigate the bodies while keeping the Telekinesis up? In case I do here is my roll: 10. Guess I don't find much anyway :P)
I'll go ahead and say that on a successful grapple attempt, with the help of four guards, you'll be able to restrain the monster and finish the fight.
As soon as they have sufficiently restrained both dragonnels, Hewelathan returns to his normal form. Again, he changes shape in the span of a second, his armor and weapons reappearing as the fur vanishes. One moment, there's a large dire wolf, a mixture of black, tan, and white fur with a bloody streak from the dragonnel's claw. The next moment, the wolf is gone, and the half-elf is in its place, looking healthy and uninjured.
Hewelathan tries speaking to dragonnel #2 in draconic, shouting: "Stop struggling and lie still!" Then, in a more gentle, conversational tone, he says, "We defended ourselves, but we won't harm you if you cooperate. Otherwise..." He lets the implied threat hang in the air as he looks toward the smoldering remains of the cult leader and the its mount. He waits to see whether the dragonnel seems to understand him or even responds in some way. (Insight18) His memory is that dragonnels are not as intelligent as true dragons, but they're smarter than common animals of the forest and field.
Then Hewelathan looks around to see whether any of his companions are in immediate need of healing or assistance: "Everyone all right?" He also looks to see whether the crew needs any help getting the fire under control. Fire on a ship is very dangerous!
Finally, he scans the sea above and the sky and sea from them to the island to ensure that there are no other threats. If they face no other resistance, his Jodie and Korba may have enough time to rest and bandage their wounds (short rest) before the ship gets close to the island and is ready for the party to disembark. (Perception15)
(Hewelathan still has bardic inspiration: probably round 5/100 by the time he finishes all of that. I'm trying to save it in case he needs to persuade or intimidate the dragonnels next.)
While the others deal with the dragon, Korba sheathes his blade, and walks over to pick up his shield from where he'd thrown it. He then leans back against the mast and watches the others struggle with the beast through his dark lenses, chuckling at the priorities of this team.
The dragonnel glares at Hewelathan... but it obviously understands his words. It may not have the cunning of a real dragon, but it is certainly smart enough to know that it has been beaten. It lays down its head on the deck, resigned to whatever you decide to do to it next.
(Note: taming a dragonnel will be a difficult endeavor, and will probably take at least a few days. On the bright side, they're already trained as mounts, but getting them to accept you as their riders may not be easy).
For another epic fight, I award each of you 800 XP
It will take another hour or so to reach the island now... you all have time to take a short rest should you need it. You are relieved to see no further signs of dragon riders on the horizon.

"Anything interesting on the cultists?" Jodie examines (10) the bodies.
Sitting down for his rest while some deal with the dragon, Korba places his sword on his lap and begins to meditate over the hour. Though he mostly looks calm for the time, there are some occasions where he flinches or winces just a bit as if in pain of some kind. Just at the end of about an hour, he opens his eyes behind his lenses and the sword on his lap vanishes, leaving behind only a slight dusting of desert sand to fall on his lap. He then stands up, brushes himself off, and looks over the bow of the ship towards the island they are approaching.
Hewelathan offers some of his store of goodberries from last night's casting to anyone who needs them to finish healing their injuries. He doesn't know much about the Shaded Isle, but, "From the little we've heard and those dark clouds around the Shaded Isle, I think that we're going to want to be in top shape before we set foot on the island."
Before he starts his rest, Hewelathan will help with searching the bodies.
(OOC: @Mister_Whisker - Did the party find any possessions or anything interesting on the bodies of the 3 cultists besides the gem that the tiefling was using for incite greed?)
While he rests, he'll talk with anyone who is more interested in the dragonnels than Korba. He asks Rhaenys (and Jodie? and Flinn?) in Elvish, "What do you plan to do with the dragon-kin? Do you want to take the time to train them? Humans talk of 'breaking' a horse -- a horrible term. If a person wants to ride another creature, the creature should consent. There should be a partnership and cooperation between the rider and his mount. But that kind of bond takes time to establish. It would be useful to have a flying mount, but do you think that can we spare the time to work with them before the Cult of the Dragon sends more agents after us?"
Hewelathan also emphasizes the danger, clearly concerned for Rhaenys's wellbeing. He says, "People get hurt a horse bucks them off on the ground. But what happens if the dragonnel knocks you off its back 100 ft. above the ground?!"
The dragonnels clearly understand draconic, at least. So, Hewelathan has a way to talk to them, but it'll be difficult to determine what the creatures are thinking. If the party unties the dragonnels, they'll probably just fly away. But if they keep the dragonnels tied up and grounded except when they're being ridden, it'll be difficult to tell how willingly they're accepting their riders. We wouldn't want them to turn against the party in the middle of a fight.
The two dragonnels cannot carry the whole party, so they're mostly useful right now in case the party needs to fight against other flying opponents or for solving certain types of problems (flying over a chasm, etc.). The rest of the time, they'd just be walking along on the ground with the party unless someone makes such good friends with them that the dragonnels will come when called. That way, the party could untie the dragonnels and let them fly around nearby until the party calls for them to return. Hewelathan muses, "It's too bad that we don't know this geas spell! That would give us a way to ensure that the dragonnels cannot turn against us. It's a type of coercion, but it only seems to trigger when they go against the command that's woven into the enchantment."
(OOC: @Mister_Whisker - Did the party find any possessions or anything interesting on the bodies of the 3 cultists besides the gem that the tiefling was using for incite greed?)
The cultists came prepared for battle. The two grunts were wearing mithral armor (scale mail), and the cultist leader was wearing half-plate (also mithral). The only other notable items that you find on the corpses are amulets in the likeness of a black dragon, which you can assume they likely use as spellcasting foci, one scimitar for each cultist, and the aforementioned gemstone (one on each grunt).

Jodie looks at the fancy armor and then at her own elven chain. Jodie seems a more confident fighter after a few battles. "I think I could wear that half-plate and still be able to move like in my elven chain. I'd be willing to give Rhaenys my elven chain. It's quite light, perfect for a sorcerer."
Jodie walks over and picks a scimitar and an amulet. "You guys thinking what I'm thinking? Do I look like an evil cultist?" Jodie holds up one of the amulets to her neck, draws the scimitar, sticks out her tongue- "BLAAH!"
Jodie picks up a second scimitar and starts spinning in a deadly sort of dance. "Oh, I am forming quite a collection of weapons now. I think I may have a go at using scimitars. To fight with two blades...it will would be quite deadly." Jodie realizes it't not too pragmatic to wear three blades so she stows her rapier with her hand-crossbow back in her cabin.
Rhaenys is happy to let the Telekinesis go once both dragonnels are tied. Keeping that creature at bay had been tiring! In fact, once she releases it she sits down right where she was standing, in the middle of the deck, to catch her breath. Then, finding that spot is not super comfy, she lazily crawls until she's with her back against the wall, pulls out the Cloak and Many Fashions and sits on top of it. There, better. From that position, she gazes at the seagulls and enjoys the sun on her face for a short while.
When Hewelathsn begins talking to her, she blinks and looks at him as though he's talking gibberish.

"You don't say!"
- That concept of "breaking" sounds really horrible. I don't like the idea of breaking any sentient creature to be able to ride it. But a bond? That sounds nice. Beautiful, even. I wouldn't mind to invest time and effort to forge such a thing, but it sounds ... complicated. We don't have the time, nor the means to achieve that - she sighs - It is probably best to let them go. Everyone deserves their freedom, right? Perhaps these dragonnels will end up returning to the Cult, but what if they were able to roam free, as they should have been in the first place?
She pauses for a moment, and adds:
- What do you think, Hewelathan? Why don't you talk to them? And remind them that their lives are their own to live and they don't need to serve the Cult anymore?
"Well. That was actually deep. You keep surprising me, Rhaenys."
"Hehe! I could get used to the compliments, my dear old staff".
"...yet hand-"
"Yes, yes, yet handsome! I know! Oh by the way, I really liked the look you gave me when I invoked the lightning! We should do that more often"
- That's very thoughtful of you, Jodie! Thank you! - an extra touch of protection would definitely be good for the sorceress - Ohh! Disguises! That's a terrificidea! - Rhsenys takes an amulet, too - With this and our disguise kits we could do wonders, and maybe infiltrate their ranks, if needed be. And the gemstones, we can sell them, right?- Rhaenys takes the two gemstones and keeps them in her shoulder bag of random things to sell them as soon as the party has the opportunity.
As the armory expands, Korba stands up, now without his sword on his side and walks over to examine the various equipment that was discovered. He says, "If you need the half plate Jodie I hope that it will protect you. Though without my shield, which I am finding more and more unwieldy if I hope to be able to deal with the foes we are encountering, I too will need defense. The scale mail is quite strong as well of course," holding up a set of mail. He then chuckles as she slashes around the scimitar and says, staying a few feet back, "Perhaps practice a bit more with that before using it in combat."
Jodies eyes narrow at Korba's criticism of her swordplay, "Oh really? Doesn't seem so hard. I have a knack for picking things up..."
Jodies weighs on Korba's word, "Do I need the half plate? That's like asking do I need to stay alive. I'm proposing a scenario where three of us have better armor, by including my gift. Would you trade your amulet? You need the armor because you keep dropping your shield and cutting yourself? The armor won't protect you from yourself. When you realize your allies are your defense, you'll understand."
Jodie hooks the harp on her hip while she draws and fires another arrow at the unrestrained dragoonel. "Victory is near, I can taste it!"

"By all means, my dear!"
- That's very thoughtful of you, Jodie! Thank you! - an extra touch of protection would definitely be good for the sorceress - Ohh! Disguises! That's a terrific idea! - Rhsenys takes an amulet, too - With this and our disguise kits we could do wonders, and maybe infiltrate their ranks, if needed be. And the gemstones, we can sell them, right? - Rhaenys takes the two gemstones and keeps them in her shoulder bag of random things to sell them as soon as the party has the opportunity.
