Omin would look each of you over as you make your way into his office. The smell of rich mahogany fills your nose and the crackling of the fireplace behind him acts as a soothing background noise. "Yes, Etharis is the name of then continent where you will all be headed." The cleric responds with a grin before looking back towards his chest and continuing to pull out items. "I visited the location myself for a brief time, and I will tell you... I have never seen a place more in need of our assistance! Before my brief and unexpectedtrip to Etharis.. I never knew such a place existed... and when I returned Inquickly discovered that no one else knew it existed either. That is why we must act quickly!" He would exclaim as he finished laying out the items from the chest before looking back up to the group. Lastly he would pull a large bag of coins from the top drawer of his desk and place it down among the other items. "There are five hundred gold coins in that bag that you all may divide up amongst yourselves. as for future payments, you will get paid a portion of all earnings brought in by your franchise and bonuses for any particularly interesting items you send back to the home office. Your majordomo will answer any further payment questions you may have." He would then reach down and pick up the various items he had laid upon the table.
"When you filled out your applications, it listed the different responsibilities of each role and each of you selected the role you wished to fill within the organization. These items are necessary to fulfill those roles." He would then take each item and hand them out towards each of you, allowing you to take then from his hand. "Your Majordomo will help answer any questions on how to use them.."
"Between the information you provided on your applications and the fact that you survived waiting room is good enough for me to offer each of you the job. When each of you is ready my friend Jim Darkmagic will teleport you all to Etharis. There you will meet your majordomo Ren and the two interns he took with him. Ren has informed me that he has a base of operations already secured for you and is eager for your arrival." Omin would pause for a moment before continuing. "My question for each of you is whether or not you are ready to accept this amazing opportunity?" He would ask with a smile, his arms stretched wide as though he were gesturing towards all the wealth contained within in his office.
"Alright then!" Nesyax says in response to Omin. "I certainly accept! One hundred gold each. That's a good start." She looks at each of the others, hoping they might agree as well. Though, surely there were lots of applicants and if these folks declined there'd be others. But they had fought off those plant-things together, so they at least had a start at being a team.
"I'm ready to go. You guys are ready to go?" she asks, looking about until her eyes fall on Vesna. 'Oh,' she mouths wordlessly. "Guess we might need a moment to gather our things before we go. But it should take no time at all I'm sure."
The young white-haired noble nods and steps closer to accept the item handed to him, studying it with curiosity, nodding in agreement with the blue-haired woman. He had more questions of course but nothing that could not wait and no anwsers that would discourage him from accepting the chance to build a new franchise in the unexplored Etharis. He wasn't really impressed with the gold but then his interest was more long-term, the possibility to build something of his own out of the shadow of his father and his family. This would be his chance to make his mark and to earn his family's respect. "I too accept your offer." Daryos declares calmly and confidently.
Vesna's eyes dart from person to person, her mind registering the subtle conversations and questions floating around the room. Her heart quickens as she catches Daryos' and Nesyax' considerate glances in her direction. Her cheeks burn hotter, remembering she's the only one who neglected to bring essential gear for the journey. Her hands grip each other anxiously.
"I-I'm..." Vesna stammers, her voice faltering as she gathers her thoughts. A rush of embarrassment and frustration floods her mind, her eyes wide with distress. "Apologies, Mr. Dran," she squeaks with a trembling voice, her cheeks reddening further. "I... seem to have overlooked preparations for immediate departure. I thought we were going to have a discussion... I hadn't anticipated... I mean, I should've... I'm so sorry," she trails off, her voice quivering with anxiety and remorse. She feels unprepared, unprofessional, and like a complete fool among these competent individuals.
As Nesyax's question lingers in the air, Vesna nods hesitantly, her gaze dropping to the floor, feeling utterly mortified. She wishes she could turn invisible or for the ground to open up and swallow her whole to avoid this embarrassing situation. Nevertheless, she forces herself to focus, some determination flickering back to life. "I'll... I'll be ready," she manages to murmur, voice barely audible. A faint hint of resolve sparks in her amber eyes as she tries to muster some semblance of composure.
Clearing her throat softly, she redirects her attention to Omin. "Um, Mr. Dran, if I may... is Etharis a... um... dangerous continent?" she asks, her voice slightly steadier now, attempting to sound inquisitive rather than frantic. With a renewed but tentative eagerness shining in her eyes, she adds, "Nevertheless, I'm very eager to take on this opportunity, Mr. Dran. I'm determined to make the most of it, even if it means a sudden departure. Um... as soon as I get my belongings, that is..."

Omin would turn to lock eyes with Vesna before quickly sizing her up from head to toe. "Well, I always preach that you should dress for the job you want, and that it's important to be prepared." The half-elf would rub his chin before letting out a small chuckle. "From what I understand it is incrediblely dangerous... which is why there is plenty of coin to be made! Adventerurs like ourselves thrive on danger. If there were no monsters, no wars, no nightmarish evils to vanquish... well... then we would all be out of a job." looking around the to the group once more. He would then take the coin pouch and toss it towards the minotaur. "How about this... Since I wasn't exactly clear on the start date in my job posting, and we are in Waterdeep after all... the City of Splender.. I will allow you each an opportunity to prepare yourselves for your journey. If any of you feel that you are ill equipped to handle what my await you in Etharis, then please take the next two hours and use your portion of the starting coin I provided to buy what you need. If you feel that you have everything you need already... then by all means you are welcome to stay here until everyone is prepared. Just know that if you have any business to take care of in Waterdeep, it is best to take care of it now. I assure you that Etharis is quite far away from here." Omin would say as he folds his arms across his chest before turning to move to a large silver hourglass on one of the large bookshelves. He turns a dial on its base before flipping the hourglass upsidown. the sparkling golden sand within begins to fall as he carries it back to his desk and sits it on top of a stack of documents.
"When you head back through the door you will return to the receptionists desk. From there you can leave and take car of any business you need to finish." Omen would reach into his pocket and pull out 5 small ivory Acquisitions Incoporated pins with Silver inlay. He would then hold out hisnhand so thst you each can take one. "When you are ready, take your pin and show it to the receptionist... DO NOT lose it. She'll make the arrangements with Jim to get you all to Etharis.
"That sounds very good. We'll be right back." Nesyax says to Omen, grabbing the items he offered and especially the ivory pin. Then she first steps over close to Vesna, lowering her voice to a whisper. "Don't worry about it. We'll run, get your stuff, be right back. I'll help you if you like." After that she starts to head out, looking back to wait for the woman to follow her before she proceeds.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Stasyn did not hide his displeasure at being tested in this manner. He takes the grandeur of the office in stride and still wearing a scowl. "Omin as you know in Waterdeep there is the Code Legal that protects the citizens from harm or in this case testing of our skills without our consent. Did you know some of them are even wounded. I believe that warrants recompense. 100gp is a good start but I dare say a health potion would be an excellent addition. If you are still reluctant, I do wonder how the Lord of Waterdeep would feel about citizens invited off the streets to be ambushed."
Stasyn's familiar coils around his arm in agitation.
Vesna's face flushes through fifty shades of red as Omin's eyes meet hers.
"Oh, gods," she murmurs under her breath, clutching the ivory pin and the items meant for her with a trembling hand as her wide amber eyes dart nervously between Omin and the others.
"I... I'll be back before you know it!" Vesna stammers, her voice strained with nerves as she nods hastily at Nesyax, grateful for her understanding, before dashing out of the office in a fluster. A whirlwind of hurried steps and frantic gathering ensues as she rushes to the temple and back, a sense of unease gnawing at her nerves. The weight of the chain armour feels foreign against her skin, and the shield's bulkiness is awkward to handle, but the grip of her mace offers some comfort amidst the flurry of preparations. Thankfully, she had done most of the packing the day before, secretly hoping she would get the job, of course, but never in her wildest dreams did she imagine things to go the way they had in the waiting room.
On her way back, she would quickly go through some of the market stalls to get some additional supplies as she sees fit, although how useful they will actually be remains a mystery for now. But at least she tries to compensate by preparing better before leaving!
Hurrying back to the Acquisitions Incoporated office, she returns with a burst of breathlessness and a small smile of relief, clutching her belongings tightly. "I'm here, I've got everything," she announces a touch breathlessly, casting a quick glance at her armour, her cheeks still tinted pink with unease and fluster. "Thank you all for waiting. I'm Vesna March, ready for the journey."
When the Verdan mentions going to the lord of Waterdeep, Omin smiles wide. "Ha! I like you kid. I Happen to be VERY close friends with one of the masked lords of Waterdeep, so I'd be more than willing to take my chances. Also, I'm pretty sure if you read the fine print of the job posting it had listed something along the lines of AI not being responsible for injuries sustained both before or after employement with our organization... But thst being said, I can assure you That I was able to see everything taking place inside the waiting room. I will admit, There was a small window of time where SOMEONE had turned around my portrait where I was unable to see what was taking place... But within seconds visibility was restored and no one died." Omin would then look to Nesyax and give a small wave of his hand as he cast healing word. Immediately her wounds would seal shut, returning her to full health. "The item's I have provided you already are worth much more than a measly healing potion... I think you are good." The clerics eyes would narrow a bit, looking Staysn up and down. "I like the attitude though... your mind is in the right place... that's important in a business like this. You love long enough and I think you'll go far." Omin would add before looking away from him towards any of the remaining members of the group.
Kitaer is reaching out to take the sack of gold even before it is offered to him. There isn't exactly greed in his eyes just more a sense of ownership and protection. Kitaer also takes the ledger and idly flips through it. He sees that all but the first pages are blank and that the first page lists the gold. He nods to Omin and frowns... But accepts the task.
"Two hours will be plenty," Kitaer assures and looks to each of the others to be sure they agree. "If any of you wish to withdraw from your funds we will take care of it in the receptionist's room before you depart. Anyone who takes funds and does not return will be hunted down and dealt with before we depart..." he adds with a grave tone.
Kitaer then looks to Omin during one of the natural pauses in other converstion. "One last question from me... Since you have been to this Etharis... Did you notice many goblins there?" Kitaer notes whatever the response is and then makes himself a liar by having a few follow up questions - Basically he will inquire about what kind of natives Omin did encounter on this Etharis, wether they be beast or intelligent and that kind of general information.
As most of the conversation is wrapped up, Kitaer steps out to the receptionist's room and waits for the others in case they do indeed want to tap into the 500 gold provided. He wants to step out a bit earlier than the others so he can do some quick figuring, he is not the best with math but given time and a lack of interruptions he can usually get to the correct answers for the basic accounting... usually.
Any who does come to him to get gold, all or a portion of their portion, will find the process slow and infuriating. First there is the conversation about how much they want and whether they indeed have that much on deposit or not. You would think this would be simple but no, it is Kitaer who is simple and that makes every transaction very complicated. Numbers are checked and double checked. Then Kitaer goes over the numbers with the other party and make sure they agree. If they do not agree then the process goes back to step one and everything must be done again. If they do agree then Kitaer worries that they are trying to pull a fast one and something must be off so he goes back to step one to double check everything again... Getting money from Kitaer would be easier if he was greedy instead of just overly protective.
If one does have enough desire to withdraw gold to get through all the bookkeeping requirements then they must suffer through the counting. And double counting. And triple counting. Kitaer counts slowly, carefully, yet sloppily. Little piles of coin are created and each one with a different amount of coin in it, Kitaer's methods make no sense to anyone, not even himself. A really proficient flim-flam man may recognize some of what Kitaer is doing in all these confusing and convoluted steps but it would infurate such a dishonest person even more than an honest one... For despite Kitaer's natural talents for creating the perfect level of frustration and impatience, the Minotaur does not use this to his advantage to steal and short people... No, the Minotaur is an idiot savant with the emphasis on idiot. His counting methods and style drives people to peak frustration to the point where they are willing to just grab a pile and leave without correcting things... But then the Minotaur double checks everything again, catches his error, makes the piles right, and then counts again one last time for good measure. One can only hope the party's health never depends on a quick withdrawal...
((If you are taking any or all of your 100 gold let me know!))
Once each of the other four have, or have not, done banking with Kitaer then he pins his small ivory Acquisitions Incoporated pins with Silver inlay onto the belt of his kilt and then heads out to stretch his legs a bit and wander outside to windowshop a bit until it is time to return. He picks up some various bits and pieces of gear he thinks he or the team may needs (Some extra sacks and pouches, waterskins and torches, fishing tackle, tinderbox, signal whistle, mess kits and oil flasks...) He eyes a tavern that seems to have a nice crowd despite the earliness of the hour and considers getting in a quick drink and a brawl before he leaves, but then second thinks the idea. He is a respectable employee of Acquisitions Incorporated now! He'll save his brawling for this new land.... With a quirk of his head this way and that he assures himself that is the right decision and then heads back to work.
When the minotaur asks about goblins, Omin looks to him and raises his hand as though placing it upon an invisible holy book. "I assure you I saw no goblins during my time in Etharis." The short-haired cleric would reply. "Most the townsfolk I spoke with were either humans or dwarves. I saw a half-elf and a dragonborn as well. One interesting thing I noticed was that the dragonborn on Etharis had a tail. Other than that difference, the races I encountered there shared the same characteristics that they do here. I am sure are plenty of other races on Etharis that I failed to encounter during my time however." Omin would eye the Minotaur when he siezes the gold but simply shrug since the Kitaer is also the parties hoardesperson.
"So there are towns and civilization then?" Kitaer asks. "So if we're not taming the land for settlers then what exactly is our objective? Just kill interesting stuff and see what we can find before the natives do?"
Kitaer wasn't opposed to such a task, it's kind of what he would be doing at home anyway, but if there is a larger objective that they should be working towards then that should be clear up front.
Omin looks to the minotaur once more and nods. "If there were no people then there would be no one to pay you... Imagine a civilization in desperate need of heroes... a civilization that has more coin than men and women brave enough to fight off the terrors that make Etharis their home. They need our services, and that is why we are going to establish a franchise there." Omin finishes with a smile.
The young white-haired noble nods and seems pleased as the hoardsperson minotaur takes care of the team's funds, and if he later would see the minotaur's diligency when handling these funds he is even more pleased. He listens to what their employer has to share but still has no questions that can't wait.
As he arrived last Daryos makes sure to now exchange names with the others in the team, complementing them respectively on their valuable contribution during the test and explaining he would hope to have a good communication within the team to make cooperation smoother and decisions well-informed.
While Kitaer sets out to further equip the team and Vesna leaves to collect her personal gear, Daryos would take a last walk along the seaside of Waterdeep. He would then make sure to return in good time for the departure for Etharis.
Stasyn takes mental note of Kitaer's resourcefulness and leaves to retrieve his pack. He does recognize Omin sales pitch on Etharis and makes sure to pack a book in the event Etharis turns out to be some low brow peasant infested nightmare. He then returns ready to leave.
Nesyax had left with Vesna, hurrying with her across Waterdeep for her to collect her things. She tries to keep a conversation going as they travel - in part out of curiosity, in part to keep the woman's mind off the issue of hurriedly having to gather her things. She offers to help however she can, then the pair quickly make their way back again.
As she awaits the others, she starts to study the various map making supplies she had been given. She wants to be ready to use them once they get to Etharis,
As each of you make your way back to the receptionist, she leads forward over her desk and squints hard behind her wire framed glasses. Spotting the ivory Acquisitions Inc pin on your appraral, she gives a small nod and points back over her shoulder. "Down the hall and to the right... Mr. Darkmagic is expecting you" She states before returning to the paperwork at her desk.
Once you step past her desk and make your wayndown the hall, the vastness of the Acquisitions Incoporated business begins to sink in. countless hallways branch off from the main corridor and a seemingly endless number of doors with different names and titles spelled out across them line the walls. You walk past several shrubs that look identical to the ones you encountered in the waiting room but there is no sign of movement from them and they appear to be simple office decor.
After walking for what feels like 10 minutes, you come across a door that looks slightly different that the others you have encountered so far. The wooden door is stained a deep purple color with the text "James Darkmagic, Star of The Jim Darkmagic Experience" Sprawled out across the front in glowing text that flashes like a neon sign. Below the text is a golden knocker that consists of a raven holding a chain with a skull on the end.
When you go to use the knocker, the golden skull opens its mouth and simply say "enter". The door then clicks and slowly swings open. Inside appears to be a combination of a library and a magicians shop. Hundreds of tomes line bookshelves along the walls and tables scattered around the room hold spell components and magical items. In the center of the room is a "U" shaped desk with a Wizard in purple robes sitting in the center. Went you walk in he snaps his fingers and a chew chairs along the wall shake off the books and clutter on top of them and they race over towards the party. "Please take a seat. I'm a very busy man and I've got a show to put on after dropping you all off in Etharis." He says as he stands up and moves to the group. "So, are you all ready to go? If so... I need you all to join hands and hang on... " He says with a grin as he holds out his hands in order to complete the chain of people...
Nesyax admires the knocker on the door for James Darkmage and is a bit surprised as it speaks to her as she reaches for it. But she quickly heads inside. As the chairs move forward she picks the one closest to the wizard in purple robes. At his instruction, she grabs the hand of Jim and the person next to her. "So how long is this all going to take? I'm ready once everyone is seated!"
After his brisk and refreshing walk along the docks after the peculiar test his employer had subjected him too, Daryos finds himself back at the A.I. headquarters, joining the others in his team in the office of Mr. Darkmagic. He notices with an appreciative smile how the others have returned too, fully prepared and geared up now it seemed for their fantastic journey and enterprise. Seeming prepared for what's to come now, he takes a seat next to Nesyax and gently takes her hand, offering his other hand to whoever takes a seat next to him with a polite smile.
Kitaer looks around nervously. He's got nothing against magic but being totally surrounded by it like this is a bit unusual for him. He coughs nervously, bringing a fist up to his mouth to cover it, and then looks at his first a moment. Oops, he thinks to himself and then self consciously wipes his hand off on his kilt as they are all being told to join hands. "Sorry," he mutters.
"Are... are the chairs coming too?" Kitaer asks and he slowly lowers himself onto the seat. "I don't want to be teleported and fall on my ass once I get there if the chair doesn't come..."

Vesna March - L1 Cleric in Etharis
DM The Missing Farmer
