The Identify spell doesn’t turn up anything on he bottle. Some mysterious liquid Yatari has picked up.
Detect Magic, on the other hand, definitely picks up a magical aura surrounding the book Varja has. Graw also feels a magical influence coming from the far room as he walks in.
The rear wall of this small room is lined with sturdy-looking wooden shelves. Clearly these were once laden with bottles and glass vials, but over the years many of these have been reduced to glittering shards of glass on the floor. There’s a flicker of movement among the wreckage and you see a small black rat lapping up the last remnants of liquid left the shattered remains ofa dark blue bottle.
The magical you detect is coming from the few remaining bottles still intact on the shelves.
For a moment, Xa reaches a hand forward toward Yatari and Varja.... and then pulls up short and flits over to the door that is now open - thinking he was 'too late' to warn Graw about stepping into an unknown space.
Getting closer, Xa sees Graw is fine (so far) and the shelves. "Hey, Listen! Graw found the wizard's old closet!"
Yatari looks at the bottle in her hand and frowns. She was hopping it would to be some magical potion.
She looks up and follows the rest of the group.
" Well now we know how the huge rats came to be. I say we collect the liquid, it might fetch for some gold or we could drink it ourselves and see what happens... I'm up for either."
She walks past the rest of the group and stares at her reflection of the remaining bottles.
She becons Xa over and whispers " Do you think if you drank this you'll grow taller like the rats"
Graw, realizing what the rat could have just drank, cuts off his tune and pulls out his dagger and flings it at the rat (trying to get it before it becomes large).
"Are you mad? Drink an unidentified potion from a Wizard's lab and HOPE it will make me get big? 'Ari... you need a LOT of ale and a couple locals to take your mind off thinking."
Xa shakes his head while he mutters under his breath. Minor Illusion
Suddenly the small figure starts expanding until a giant Xa -- okay, 5 foot tall -- looms in front of Yatari. "Happy now?"
You see on the broken bottle it was drinking fro reads in cursive script, ‘-tion of enlargement’. On another smashed bottle is written in the same script ‘Essence of Fire Ele-’.
Their are no more exits from this room. Just the rat corpse and the few remaining bottles on the shelf.
“Well, guess that’s how the rats got big,” Graw says wiping his rapier. “If there’s nothing else in this room, then perhaps we check out the well room.” He walks out of the store room and enters the well room.

"Well... Now you you can scare the of the rats off, big boy." Yatari laughs and pats him on the head since Yatari is resistance to fire damage.

As Yatari attempts to pat the head of the 'larger' Xa, her hand passes through the illusion. After a moment, the illusion fades away and the small Firebug is once again 'just a wee spark'.
"I am all for clearing out that well so, I'm with you Graw."
Varja - The identify spell reveals the book’s true nature. An Arcane Grimoire +1 (you can add this to your inventory.
As you enter the other room you see the large stone well, topped with a wooden handle and the rotten remnants of a heavily frayed rope that descends into the shaft. In the far right corner the ceiling has collapsed slightly, and a narrow shaft of weak sunlight shines through a narrow hole. To the far left is a plain wooden table, crusted with dirt and dust and laden with old plates, buckets and other strange pieces of tableware. Some of the plates on this table seem to be made of fine silver.
As you shine a light down the well, you see 50ft down is a pool of dank water. A giant rats with large bite marks in its neck lies on the floor next to it.
Varja would have danced joyfully if he wasn't in a serious situation. Nonetheless, he attunes the Arcane Grimoire, +1, and prepares to use it together with his original spellbook as he follows everyone down the well room.
"That does not look good. If whatever left that bite marks on that giant rat's neck. I think we're going to be dealing with more than just rats, spiders, and whatever we might find down here." Varja dreads what could kill that giant rat. "Also, I'll repeat myself once more for everyone. We are not being paid enough for this."
Graw nonchalantly starts to place all of the silver plates from the table into his bag as soon as he sees them. “Well, where did those centipedes come from? Perhaps they lived in here,” Graw comments. He looks down the well. “It doesn’t look like there’s much else we can do here, even if there is something down there. I say we just collect anything valuable down here and report back. If there are any future problems, it won’t be ours to worry about.”
Xa flits over to the edge of the well and peers down. "I suppose I could fly down and use my last burning hands to fry that dead thing and anything else ... but it won't heat up the water or anything."
He then looks up at the collapsed ceiling. "Maybe I should fly up there and see where the hole opens up to? If it is 'in a business' or town spot... we can get it fixed up so no NEW things come crawling down here?"

"Really now?" Varja hands the bottle back to Yatari.
Yatari looks at the bottle in her hand and frowns. She was hopping it would to be some magical potion.

Graw - You recognise that the bite marks are the same size as the giant centipede’s. You also evaluate that the silver will be worth about 50gp.
