Cyrano gingerly accepts the weapon from Vadania. From a pocket he produces a small shoe polish tin. "I know it looks like boot stain but it is actually a rosin recipe that will make the limbs more supple. It will allow you to hold your draw easier making you steadier and increasing your accuracy. Alll with out sacrificing power. The easier draw also means you can fire faster reducing the time to reload. " he explains as he begins to apply a generous coating to the bow. The wood grains intensify in color and pattern as they absorb the gel. In addition to the polishing compound, Cyrano also attaches an apparatus to the front. The device is composed of a horizontal twig joined to the bow just beside the arrow rest. At its end another twig is attached in a vertical orientation. Set into this vertical piece of wood at even intervals are pine needles with red tips. Cyrano takes out a small woodworking knife and finishes the sight instalation by carving the targeting assist to match the bows original ascetic. Once finished he hands the bow back to Vadania. "Fine weapon, fine weapon indeed."
Vadania holds the modified bow at arms length and admires the craftsmanship. "Fine weapon indeed, Master Cyrano. It is almost too fine to use as a 'simple bow' now. Thank you for this most amazing gift."
The wood elf tests the draw and admires the ease of the action. Sights along the extension before bring all back to rest. "This will be an interesting 'addition' to work with. Again, many thanks." Vadania careful secures his bow as he climbs up onto the roof of the carriage and thumps to let those inside know he is ready to move ahead.
Fjörn feeling the eyes of Teresa weighing on his conscience, did I do something wrong? Clearly Vulmon would have killed us… Fjörn can’t get the scene out of his thoughts. On the way to the Inn Fjörn slips into a daydream at one point he mumbles, “Forgive me sister…”
For a moment or two, Teresa is speechless, her gaze fixed on Vulmon's head rolling on the ground. She tries to read the last emotion the Elf felt before he was beheaded. With a solemn expression, she reaches for his face and gently closes his eyes.
"Oh, fallen soul," Teresa murmurs softly, clutching her blood-stained holy symbol and offering a short prayer for the departed. "May the currents carry you to the shores of the afterlife. May the water wash away your sins and grief. And may you awaken in the next life, clean and anew."
On their way back to the inn, Teresa leans in to whisper to Fjörn. "You did nothing wrong except perhaps acting a bit hastily," she says, shaking her head sadly. "But... maybe we can find a better way next time."
By the time you arrive at the inn the stars are out and the darkness of the night envelops the land. The lights from the inn are bright and inviting, you can smell the sent of food wafting even from the outside. When you enter the tavern part of the inn seems quite empty, only two patrons there in their own world sipping on drinks slowly. At the bar you see a young human, pale skinned with brown hair and bright brown eyes. He spots your group entering,
”Hello there travellers, what can I help you with at the moment?”, he speaks in a cheery voice beckoning you over.

Teresa strides confidently into the inn, her armour and body freshly cleansed of the bloodstains acquired during their journey. "Good evening, sir," she greets the innkeeper warmly. "We are a party of eight travellers in search of both food and lodging. Might you have any vacancies available, preferably with larger rooms suitable for sharing?" As she converses with the innkeeper, Teresa's gaze sweeps across the tavern, vigilant for any signs of suspicious groups or individuals that may need further attention.
Heidi enters the inn, and for just a moment, appreciates the inviting ambience; and Fjörn’s accompaniment is always on point. She takes in the innkeep, and the two patrons, interrogating them with her eyes. “All is well, this evening, yes?” (Insight 17).
If the paladin senses nothing amiss, she returns to the carriage and helps the assassins, still bound together, to their feet. She then assists them to the hitching post, where she lashes them securely, that she might keep an eye on them from inside. Taking her waterskin, she gives them each a drink, then rejoins the others within. “A dark beer, and a plate of cheese, if you will. And some bread. I’m famished!”
Fjörn: You can see frames on the wall, filled with previous owners and famous people who would come visit the inn travelling. You see a famous singer and a famous chef in one of the larger photos. From what you gather and what you are aware of, this inn is a family run business that has been around for approximately 150 years. You strum as you walk in, the innkeeper looks at you with stars in their eyes, “Wowee sir, that is some amazing playing, would you like some beer it’ll be on the house for your performance.”, the closer you look the more it seems like the young man is buzzing as if he’s about jump at you in his excitement.
Teresa: As your gaze wanders the area all you see are the 2 patrons minding their own business, not in anyone’s way.
The Young lad’s smile brightens and immediately starts to answer your question, “Of course we have rooms… Large rooms you say… hmm… I think 2 Large rooms will do. One for the ladies and 1 for the gents. So that will be 70 GP with a complementary breakfast. If you want heated water in the morning please inform us now and it will be 4 GP extra for all 8 of you. There are stables outside for your hoarses, that will be 2 GP. Therefore in total it will cost 80 GP.” He then stands there waiting expectantly.
Heidi:You do not sense anything amiss.
”All right, miss! I get it to you, please take a seat.”, the innkeeper after talking to Teresa takes your order and in around 5 minutes he brings you on a platter a variety of cheese, a keg of dark beer and 2 loafs of bread. “That will be 1GP and 50 SP, miss.”, he says.

Fjörn will continue to play, as he napped on the way and is feeling the music so to speak, he makes his way to a stage or open area and plays, ‘The River to the Sea’. A song about travelling, a long journey which eventually ends at the sea. The endless cycle of life. Afterwards Fjörn will eat and turn in for the night. When morning comes he will head down once again and perform for any morning regulars. This tune will be ‘Return of the Bronze’ a comical skit about false expectations…

Cyrano stays with Nilavore and the carriage. He keeps a close eye out for anyone moving about town that might have nefarious ideas about the travelers.
Vadania's jaw nearly hit the floor when he heard the quoted price for rooms and meals. THIS was why he preferred life in the forest to living in a town. Seeing the others settling in for the evening around the room, the wood elf declared, "Before I settle in, I shall go check on the horses. Don't start anything without me." Grinning from ear to ear, he stepped out the door and moved to the stable.
For roughly five seconds, Teresa stays completely silent. She doesn't know if she should smile or sigh. 80GP is about half a year's income for her whole family! Tens of thousands of gold pieces were too much for the girl to comprehend. But now Teresa finally understands how crazy the world she has stepped into.
@Vadania
“This place is far away from town. The cost of carrying all the goods could affect their prices… perhaps… maybe…” The girl mumbles, waving her hand at the Elf ranger, hoping he returns fast.
@Innkeeper
If this were a normal pilgrimage, Teresa could have slept in the stable to keep her distance from this madness. But escorting a noble leaves her no choice. Touching her holy symbol and praying for her mistress to grant her courage, the young cleric orders her supper. “Please give me the same things as our paladin. A cup of hot water instead of beer. And…” Shyly, she whispers to the innkeeper, asking for three times the food that the Halfling ordered.
(Everyone might forget, but Teresa is a really tall and big girl.)
Heidi blinks, when the innkeep tallies her meal. Highway robbery has evolved… But she pays, without complaint.
The portion was generous enough, for Heidi to share some cheese rinds and crusts of bread with the prisoners- which she does, once she has finished, and again provides water.
“Eat. Drink. It will not be a comfortable night’s sleep, I am afraid, bound together such as you are. But you are alive. Cherish, that you might still experience the discomfort, that is life.”
In the morning, the halfling arises before the light, and dons her chain. It is a ritual for the paladin of pain, as the protective armor is also a cilice, with tiny barbs on the inside. She wears it against her bare skin, as her chosen devotion to Loviatar.
Vadania agreed wholeheartedly to aid Cyrano with getting the carriage safely set aside the tavern (or into the barn if it is large enough). He then checked the horses and watched the stable boy as he watered and combed each carefully. Vadania nodded in satisfaction as he walked back out of the stable. Taking a large breath, he decided to make a circuit around the area "just to be on the cautious side" before going back to the tavern.
If he encountered nothing of note, the wood elf will do one last inspection of the horses, carriage, and the two prisoners before going back inside. It had been a long day and it felt good to stretch out his legs and relax a little among comrades. He picked at his food and only drank water - as he knew he would be 'on watch' outside the rooms - just to be on the safe side.
Teresa: the innkeeper was practically glowing at this point, “Oh what good travellers, ordering food and taking rooms.”, he mumbles to himself as he prepares your food. After sometime he brings out 3 baguettes filled with ham and cheese and well as large cup of water that has a little bit of lime in it for a refreshing taste. He stands in front of you and places it on the table, “4 GP good lady, I am so glad you travellers have come by. Ever since the bandits have started looting along this road travellers have been scarce. Only regulars come as they usually work in the woods, they take a swing and leave. Such good travellers you are…”, he continued to ramble about how you have helped him by coming.
All of you enter your rooms and get cozy ready to take a good nights rest. You can hear the crickets and the faint rustling of the trees from the wind but besides that all you you are warm and tired after a long days work. Vadania takes first watch and who will take 2nd watch?

Heidi is not sure if Fjörn is awake to hear, but she speaks, and it is not her characteristically harsh tone.
