Erix follows closely, with his animals, even after the changes of Mark, hoping they will make it out alive and well.

Mark opens the door and you all enter a living chamber. The dimly lit room contains a bed of soft moss, a variety of attractive artwork, a chair, a desk covered with writing material, several objects made of bone and skin best left unidentified, chests of clothing, and all the other trappings of an owner who appreciates creature comforts. A creature in a incredibly luxurious dark robe with a skull motifs all over it is tidying up at the desk. It turns around when you enter, and you see purple skin and a bulbous head, with three large tentacles hanging from the creatures face. He looks at you coldly and you hear a voice in your mind, "You must be the ones the dark priest and the werewolf are running from. My name is Sarkt, this is my home." From the telepathy and face tentacles, Elero will recognise what Sarkt is. A Mind Flayer. But you've never heard of one of these deep creatures ever openly chatting with people on the surface, only of their taste for human brains.
Erix had a little scare as the creature starts talking into his brain. But quickly composes himself.
"and you are a prisoner I presume? Looking at the locks we just came through?"

The sound Sarkt makes when you say then is hard to describe. Like a wet slap mixed with a snort, "I am no prisoner, this is my home. Although if you asked that dark priest it seems she thinks it still belongs to her god." Mark flinches at the mention of this god, and the Mind Flayer's eyes flick to him for a moment. "What are your plans here? And do not lie. I will know." The voice in your mind is expressionless and alien.
Mark will look around and then say out loud, "This monster is trying to trick us, we should rid it from this sacred place, and none shall breathe again in our final tomb!"
"Our friend here," Elero jumps in, "appears to be under the influence of that god, in fact, and we'd appreciate anything you could do to rid him of that influence. He seems keen on attacking you, you see, so if you can dispel that notion somehow, we can continue our peaceful conversation."
Mark's face goes black as Sarkt's voice commands his mind. "Stay still, do nothing." And then the Mind Flayer's voice comes to Elero and Erix, "Tell me. What do you have to offer me for my assistance with this creature?" The voice is somewhat amused now, wondering what your bargaining chip is going to be.
"If you free our friend from the dark god, we'll fight the priest and the werewolf," Elero says, a bit terrified about what they may have gotten themselves into.
The Mind Flayer replies, "The werewolf and the priest are guests in my house, how do you know I want them killed?" Sarkt holds out his palms, "Besides, it seems to me that you're here to fight them anyway. If I wanted them disposed of I could just leave and let you and your compromised compatriot to deal with them. I'm afraid you'll need to offer me something else" A note of mocking in the Mind Flayer's voice, he seems to be enjoying this.

(Just to clarify. The locks on the doors were regular door locks rather than padlocks. They can be unlocked from both sides.)
Sarkt motions at the table, where you see two keys on the top. "As I have said, this is my abode. I had locked the door to keep unwanted intruders out, not to lock myself in." He then turns to Erix and asks plainly, "What magic items do you have?"
((Ah I also thought the locks were on the outside))
Erix looks at the mindflayer, wondering if fighting it might be better, but with him controlling Mark that's definitely not the case.
"Only my bag of tricks, nothing else."

Sarkt looks at the Bag of Tricks. He ponders to himself for a moment, "This would be a worthy addition to my collection. Do you give this to me willingly to save your companion?"
((@DM what happens to the animals that are currently out of the bag already? Do they stay loyal to Erix, or change sides when the bag changes hands?))

Elero follows as well, Eldritch Cannon at the ready.

"I see." Says Sarkt. And Mark immidiately feels the Mind Flayer's intrusion into his mind. Sarkt casts Dominate Monster on the rogue.
Mark makers a DC 15 WIS Save: 15 or is Charmed by Sarkt and must obey his commands.
Mark's face goes black as Sarkt's voice commands his mind. "Stay still, do nothing." And then the Mind Flayer's voice comes to Elero and Erix, "Tell me. Elero raises an eyebrow. "How often do guests in your house double-padlock you into a room? Or are you claiming you did that yourself, for...reasons?"
(Just to clarify. The locks on the doors were regular door locks rather than padlocks. They can be unlocked from both sides.)

Can I try the Wisdom save myself?
Because of my ADV on being charmed. I am got to roll it and see if it was better.
WIS: 12 ,17 = 17
(Sorry, didn't realize you had advantage on being charmed. I'd accept that first roll as your advantage, but not the second. Sorry, but unless the others attack Sarkt to break his Concentration, Dominate Monster dictates that you are shut down for a little while.)
Sarkt looks at the Bag of Tricks. He ponders to himself for a moment, "This would be a worthy addition to my collection. Do you give this to me willingly to save your companion?"
Elero regards both of them suspiciously, since he knows the Mind Flayer cast some kind of a spell on Mark.
Erix isnt sure what to do
