Four against two is usually good odds but not when the two are hippogriffs, thinks Zeke. So he runs to the near tree to touch Alistair (with Guidance) before continuing to the far tree in the path (H6) and considers how to get the second hippogriff away from its current position (D8) which threatens their departure.
“Guys, keep your defenses up but Billy has a good point - let’s get out of here without attacking. I’m going to try to spook the second hippogriff with some fire and noise to get it away from our path. Alistair, you know any good lullabies for these bird things? I know my singing would only make them violent.”
Along with Krog, Brockes gets ready to react to the threat. “These are beasts of song and legend. If it comes to it, hit hard and move swiftly. Don’t get cornered.”
(At present Krog isn't heading any direction. But I would think South and toward our destination. Someone once said that they didn't like to pay for the same real estate twice.)
Alistair lets out a shaky breath, relief washing over him like a cool wave. A direct confrontation with the hippogriffs has been averted, for now. But the victory feels hollow. The winged predators remain perched atop the cliff, a constant reminder of the danger they still pose. Are they guarding a nest, their young hidden from view? The thought sends a shiver down Alistair's spine. He peeks cautiously around the cover of the tree, his gaze locked on the magnificent creatures. Their movements are predatory, their eyes sharp and watchful. Alistair knows they can't stay here forever, but the idea of venturing past them without knowing their intentions fills him with dread. Perhaps there is a way to appease them, a song or melody that might calm their savage instincts. He instinctively reaches for his lute as a fleeting melody, a calming tune, takes form in his mind, but the bardic part of him is quickly overruled by the more pragmatic side. These are not creatures to be swayed by song. Turning back to his companions, "We need to move south," he agrees, his voice laced with urgency. "Billy and I will provide cover, keeping an eye on the hippogriffs. The rest of you, stay low and quiet. We need to pass through their territory as quickly and discreetly as possible."
Zeke puts his head down and heads south. It feels strange and scary to him to be scurrying like prey past a predator but that is exactly what the situation is. He holds off on taking any other action at this time.
Okay, that was a lot to unpack. I'm going to summarize what I think everything means in terms of game mechanics and correct me if I've misinterpreted your intentions.
Zeke does a partial move and then casts Guidance on Alistair. He then moved south to G8...
This triggers Hippogriff 2's ready action to move to G9 and block the path.
Alistair & Billy declared that they are covering the others while they move. I'm assuming that was intended to be a Ready action with their ranged weapons. They may now choose to use their Reaction for the round to attack H2.
Krog declared that he was readying his bow and may also use his reaction to attack H2 if he would like.
Brockes said that he was readying his weapon but didn't specify which one. Please clarify. If you choose a ranged weapon, you may also react to attack H2.
Krog, Brockes, Alistair, & Billy all still have their move actions available this turn.
Everyone still has their bonus actions, if any, available this turn.
Billy fires from cover (Does that give him advantage?)
YES
Billy will then move to F7 and try to take cove.
Using a skill in combat is considered an action and he already used his actions to attack. (but at second level Rogues get the ability to hide as a bonus action, so keep this in mind for later.)
If you want to change anything based on this new information, please feel free to do so.
Brockes said that he was readying his weapon but didn't specify which one. Please clarify. If you choose a ranged weapon, you may also react to attack H2.
It would have been my greataxe. I will use my movement to get to G4 to try to act as a buffer in case Hippogriff 1 tries to flank and attack the back.

Initiative:
Group 1 (Hippogriffs), H1 Dodge, H2 Ready Movement. End of Turn
Group 2 (Players in any order)
Zeke - Shield of Faith is Active (+2 AC)
Billy - Currently Hiding (Stealth 16)
Alistair - currently using a tree for Cover (Total cover from above, 3/4 cover/+5 AC from the ground)
Billy "There not attacking should we just leave quietly?"

(Are we heading North or South?)
(At present Krog isn't heading any direction. But I would think South and toward our destination. Someone once said that they didn't like to pay for the same real estate twice.)
(Okay General, are you suggesting we fight now so we don't have to later.)
Billy will cover people as they move south then will move himself. Unless the horses attack of course.
Krog will suggest we head south. If we can avoid a fight, that would be fine with the Half-Orc.
Brockes nods in agreement.

(Actually, Krog was putting away his bow, and readying his shield. If he could draw out his sword, he would do that too.)
(Absolutely. He can equip both his sword and shield)
Billy fires from cover (Does that give him advantage?)
Attack = (8,7) +4 =12 Damage = 4 + 1 (sneak attack) = 5
Billy will then move to F7 and try to take cove.
(I'm head out of town in a few minutes posting may be spotty for the next week.)
No I'm good. I just meant to take as much cover as I can not hiding necessarily. But thanks for the clarification.
