The bodies that Beshlog checks are all alive, though when he tries to wake them up, they do not waken, no matter what he tries.

Ember climbs up on a chair, and peers into the hole. She is not accosted by a Critter, and instead finds a small lever. Like, a lever sized for Critter paws.

Hopefully her fingers aren't too big to tlip the switch.  She checks again for critters before she flips it  Do I need to roll anything?

If it works, she says "Bingo!"

She flips the switch, and the trapdoor flips open, leading down into a deep, dark shaft.

Beshlog, you also find a switch on the wall.

"Somebody prop that door open in case it shuts when I let go of the trigger.  Then lets go!"  She holds the trigger until someone holds the trapdoor open, then props the door open with the chair when she steps down.

Demetrius obliges, and you are ready. The shaft is steep enough you will have to climb down, chimney style (you know, where you put your back and feet against opposite sides of the walls), but it shouldn't be too hard. If you feel any of you feel your characters would have a tough time getting down the shaft, roll me a DC 7 athletics or acrobatics check.

You descend, down, and down and down, deep into the tunnel, which appears to be made of copper along closer inspection. You descend.

Meanwhile, the lever is in front of Beshlog. No markings or indicators of what it does, except for a little sign in a foreign language. Thanks to his knowledge, he recognizes it as Abbysal, and can make out a few words "...pull...to...all...bodies"

Beshlog looks at the lever for a moment...

"I think probably it would be in our best interests not to yank on that lever... at least not until we've gotten these guys out of here," he says, indicating the unconscious individuals. "Once we do get them out, though... might be worth takin' a look at."

But the lever looks so shiny and awesome. If you had to guess, it might wake up the people on the floor.

(If you want an acrobatics check I'll roll it, but I think Ember is OK without it)

Final call: Beshlog, (or Emilia), do you pull the lever? who knows what will happen. Your master did always say "curiosity is the key to all your hearts desires.". And yes, both your masters said that. No, they probably didn't know each other.

Emilia sighs, reaching forwards to take hold of the lever, slowly pulling it down. "This lever must lead to whatever we are after, correct?" Emilia shrugs, without so much as a second thought once she completely pulls it. Is this a stupid idea? Probably. Is it the most simple solution in her eyes? Absolutely.

This will be fun. 

Emilia pulls the lever, and simultaneously in all the shafts, a red glow emanates from the bottom of the shafts. A search reveals the floor of the shaft which the bodies come down are grates, and below that grate, is fire. The fire cannot escape, but it starts to get warmer, and warmer, and warmer in the shaft, and the copper walls glow with heat. The heat slowly spreads. 

Anyone climbing down the shaft, make a DC 13 Con Save or take 4 fire damage from touching the walls. And before you ask, Artan, the shaft is too small to fly your broom down.

"OW!"  Ember tries pulling her shirt sleeves down to cover her hands.  Mockingly says to herself "Go down the trapdoors to save your lives.  Yeah, right."   Tries to crawl faster, but without loosing control since there may be a fire at the bottom.

Anyone who would like to make their journey go quicker, make a DC 13 Acrobatics check. DC 15 if trying to be careful.

Acrobatics 10

Ember slips and slides down the shaft, making her way towards her goal, but in the process burning herself. She takes 3 fire damage.

Artan, make a acrobatics check as described above or take 5 fire damage

Demetrius's check: 17 or take 1 fire damage

Cloaked figures check: 4 or take 3 fire damage

 Is that "3 points plus the earlier two" or "total 3 instead of the earlier 2"?

Con save 11. Acrobatics 10. Total of 3 fire damage (Assuming the extra 1 is additional for more time) Question, is the shaft big enough for a panther? And if so, would having a 40ft climb speed make getting down quicker, or would Artan still be limited by people in front?

Yup, the first damage total was just from where you currently where, but since you wanted to speed up, you made the acrobatics check. So Ember takes a total of 5, and Artan takes a total of 3. 

The shaft could fit a panther, though it is too small for him to slide past his companions without pressing his body against the steaming wall.

Artan manages to slide his way down the shaft, though he bumps into Ember and she nearly loses her grip

Ember and Artan, Roll another DC 13 (or 15 if trying to be careful) acrobatics check.
