"I hear nothing at all from the other side of this door. And with my hearing, that concerns me. It is too silent. But this is our way forward so who wants to open it?" and he steps away
After helping move a stout table to block the lab door they had entered, Kordia moves back over to the lockers and swings open the last in the row she had been investigating.
With a small yip and a smile she started pulling out various items. "FLAX... I found our stuff! Come gear up so we can really do some damage down here!"
Like a child given new toys on their birthing day, Kordia gleefully starts strapping on the various belts, packs, and weapons she sorely missed.
"Hold on", Ember says. "What does everyone say to a rest here? I won't say short or long, cause of whats behind the door, but if we're about to face the Master, shouldn't we be at our peak?"
Kordia looks about as she finishes settling all her gear into place... seen and unseen. "Ember, I kind of get the feeling you are politely trying to tell us that you blew most of your magic keeping us alive.
Is a short rest enough to help?
If you need a long rest, maybe that will give Beshlog time to identify his new mystery potions?" She looks over at Beshlog you is nearly bent double into some of those cauldrons.
Flax retracts the claws he's kept extended since meeting him, and starts gearing up as well. If he looked fierce or regal before, seeing him don gleaming mithral full plate armor, with a shield and pristine bejeweled longsword, it brings his vibe to a whole new level. He is the spitting image of a knight in shining armor of story.
"This is much better, with this armor, I could face off an army."He paused and smirks."A very small army."
As the conversation turns to resting "If we rest we should keep it short. Who knows what lurks down here and what they're up to. We need to make our exit sooner than later."

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Kordia is also fine but is not against a short rest if it aids a party member. And, as noted, an hour might give Beshlog time to figure out his new potion 'toys'.
You decide to rest, barring the door to make sure you cannot be ambushed, and stretch out. You lay out bedrolls, eat a snack, ETC
Sometime during the rest, you hear a banging and clanging on the door that leads to the junction. Unintelligible moans can be heard from beyond, as what you presume to be the undead from the crypt in the ceiling bang upon the door.
While it does interrupt Kordia's nap, startling her in a most hilarious manner, they cannot seem to get through, and for the rest of the hour the sounds permeate your rest.
Despite the sounds, Beshlog does start on identifying the potions. Since he is not doing it over the course of a long rest, I'd like a DC 15 Arcana check to identify the strange liquids.
What does the rest of the party do during the rest?

It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
Kordia is none too happy about being snapped out of the beginnings of a nap by the sounds of undead just a few feet away. Grumbling at the missed nap opportunity, she will follow Flax's lead and examine her equipment and pack... making certain her daggers are razor sharp and ready for action.
Ember does wake up, if you decide she was napping. And the door that leads to the junction opens into the laboratory, but you barricades it with benches and tables, so the undead can’t get in. For now, the only path forward is into the silent room.
Kordia and Flax check their gear, and sharpen the weapons, shine their armor, everything to make sure it is in tip top shape for whatever comes next.
Artan listens at the door, but hears nothing, even with his keen senses connected to nature. Maybe being away from the stars for so long has dulled his powers. Oh how he misses the night sky!
By the lack of anything relating to this, was this post missed, or did Artan just hear nothing?
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
It was missed, but Artan does hear nothing on the other side. Nothing at all. Complete and dead silence

So, let's put it to a vote. All in favor of a rest say so. All opposed speak up. You can, of course, abstain.

Ember supports a short rest, longer if possible.

Beshlog's Arcana: 19
Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Provide feedback!
Beshlog investigates the potions, and manages to puzzle out a few of them:
As for the exact effects of the potions, well...you'll just have to drink them.

Flax spends the rest making sure his gear is all equipped properly, adjusted, tended, and clean. He'll also spend some HD to tend his wounds.

Does Ember even wake up?
If so, does the door open in or out?
If in, we've barricaded.
If out, we're screwed.
Beshlog sets up a tiny hut for the party, positioning it in such a way that it can also act as a barricade for the doorway.

Artan will spend his rest listening to the too quiet other door in this room for any sound of movement from there.
