Elsenia picks out a furry orange stole and a wizard's hat. Then she proceeds to the stage with Weaver and Grayson. The druid has encountered many cats before and is familiar with magic so this shouldn't be too hard, she thinks. She will get down on her hands and knees and act like a cat, the wizard's hat perched jauntily on her head.

Only half listening, Ooboron takes the potion from Weaver when she shakes it below his chin. As the other three move toward the stage, the loxodon looks at the concoction curiously, then opens his mouth to ask the fairy what it is. Seeing she's too far away to question, Ooboron shrugs and down the brew.

What does it do? 1

Ooby, the effect is a warm, glowy kind of hug for your insides, and you heal 8 HP.

Weaver will stomp around, angry that her helmet does not fit properly, and trying her best to keep the suspiciously intelligent cat away from the cowardly child (but ultimately failing, hilarity ensues). 

Elsenia tries to act like a cat, but does a horrible job. The tabaxi in the crowd even look offended at her performance, and at one point when she lets out a fake meow, an orange cat-folk hisses, as you say something rude about his mother.

Weaver, on the other hand, does better, potraying the role with a decent amount of flair and skill. Still, it's hard to imagine the cheerful little fairy as a furious warrior, causing those who know her or of her to howl with laughter as the pixie shakes her tiny fist in rage at the "cat"

Grayson, though grumpy about his role, still puts on a decent performance, but does not draw as much attention as Weaver does.

After the scene is over, and another one has begun with different actors, the boy with the prompts approaches you, he starts to speak, but a scream rips through the air. Unsurprisingly, something has gone wrong. A life-size prompt of an owlbear animates on stage, roaring with fury. It is covered in a dark, viscous liquid, which drips off its body and is familiar, especially to Weaver, who recognizes it as the blood magic goo she's been studying in her downtime.

Initiative - 21

Elsenia cringes as the audience is clearly not enjoying her performance. She didn't mean to offend anyone and hadn't even thought about the tabaxi finding her performance offensive. Just as the performance thankfully comes to an end, the druid sighs with relief, but her relief is short-lived because of course something is now attacking the students again! Elsenia whirls around, the wizard hat flying off her head, but she still has the orange stole wrapped around her shoulders. An owlbear! For a moment, she isn't even scared, becaues she's always wanted to see an owlbear up close. It's so cute, even dripping in the horrible blood magic goo, but also at the same time it is pretty scary with its sharp beak and vicious talons.

(I rolled pretty high so I'm going to describe Elsenia's action.)

Elsenia has been studying hard, learning the ways of Witherbloom. As a result, she now knows a way to surround herself with spores that circle around her like a shield. Whispering the incantation to herself, suddenly a bloom of spores surrounds the druid, and she twirls her quarterstaff as she takes a fighting stance, facing the owlbear.

Action: Symbiotic Entity - You can use Wild Shape to awaken the spores that infuse you to gain +12 temp HP, roll double damage dice for your Halo of Spores damage, and deal 1d6 additional necrotic damage when you hit with a melee weapon attack. These all last for 10 minutes, or until you lose all these temporary hit points, or until you use your Wild Shape again.

Theodore pockets his kazoo and draws his blades. Moving forward to intercept the owlbear, he lunges with sharpened steel!

Weaver goes through a flurry of emotions - literal staged fury, appreciation, surprise, and resignation as the owlbear portrait comes to life.  "Here we go again, again..." she says, as she runs her fingers through her hair to remove the tiny helmet and flicks them forward, covering the owlbear in a glittery purple dust.  She then moves to higher ground, maybe on top of a balcony or a nearby tree (if outdoors) to get a better vantage point for later.

After downing the potion, Ooboron smacks his lips and quietly hums a note as the warm feeling spreads through his body. He watches the show on stage for a moment, but then starts to feel guilty again. Deciding he'd rather not chance a bad encounter with one of his fellow guildies, he decides to leave quietly. He turns, his head tucked to avoid attention, and begins heading to leave the festival. That's when the scream happens.

Theo rushes forward, stabbing the creature with a vicious strike. His second strike however, goes wide, and his dagger is knocked out of his hand as the Owlbear rears up on its hind legs then comes crashing down. He manages to to dodge out of that, retreating next to Elsenia, but the stage crunches and part of it collapses, sending the Druid and the rogue tumbling to the ground. 

Weaver gathers some of her glitter dust, then throws it in an arc that rains down on the owl bear, violet flames popping up where it lands

DEX save: 10

Elsenia invokes the power of nature, covering her body with fungal growths, and a floating aura of necrotic energy surrounds her

The beast rushes forward at the druid, and screeches as the dark energy attacks at it, withering flesh

DC 14 CON save or it takes 3 Necrotic damage: 21

The Owlbear raises its claws to strike, and brings them down in a furious sweep. Theo and Elsenia must both make DC 15 DEX saves or take 12 Slashing damage and be knocked prone.

‘Grayson flees the scene, predictably, melding with the fleeing crowd. Aurora starts to strum a note on her hurdy-gurdy, sending out a sonic vibration which impacts against the Owlbear with a boom.

Using his Lucky Footwork (+4) Theodore dodges the vicious claws. Spinning on his toes, he draws another dagger, leaps into the air and tries to bring both blades into the back of the owlbear!

All thoughts of embarrassment fly out of Ooboron's mind as he sees the owlbear attacking his friends. Furrowing his brow and lowering one shoulder, he trumpets as he pushes against the fleeing crowd, creating a path. Once he is close enough, he focuses on the creature and stirs up the magic within himself. "Your own mind be your own undoing — however feeble it may be!" He concentrates, attempting to fill the owlbear's mind with fire.

Phantasmal force — The target must make an Intelligence saving throw (DC 14). On a failed save, the owlbear believes it has burst into flames, and it takes 1d6 psychic damage on each of Ooboron's turns so long as he maintains concentration. If the save is failed, the damage for this turn is 2.

Elsenia screams as the beast barrels into her, knocking her flat on the floor. The air is knocked out of her lungs, but she quickly gathers herself, getting back to her feet. Since she is right next to the owlbear now anyway she reaches out to touch it and dark, necrotic magic flows from her hand into the creature, hurting it from within.

Weaver pulls out another small canister of some vile looking liquid, shakes it, and opens it in the owlbear's direction.
