"We can certainly head out but I think it would be fun to meet these frost druids. I would really like to see what they are all about and think they will make an interesting addition to my novel as I have never meet any frost druids. But if you all think it unsafe I will defer to your judgement as sometimes I lead myself in the wrong direction."
"I think we should wait for Ravisin to come. We could certainly do with more information about Auril and the eternalwinter —"Sirius pauses for a brief moment and looks down before continuing. "— and other things. Besides we'll have the upper hand since we're already here." Sirius begins to drag the body of the moose towards the side of the entrance. "I like the idea for using the body as a counter for a snare. Which one of you is the best trapmaker because it certainly isn't me? I can certainly help lift the body though."
"If we do kill him, at least we'll have a humanoid hand then. I think completing the rite might open the doors." Sirius flashes a grim smile. "The moose said Ravisin comes at nightfall. We have some time till then but that means we'll probably have to spend the night here or risk going out in the forest in the night. While we set up the trap, someone should look for something to burn so we can keep warm in the night." Sirius looks around at his companions for approval and adds a prayer since those have been serving him so well in the last days. "May Torm bless us all with bravery."
DM Comment: "Nightfall" in Icewind Dale could also mean early afternoon, since 2pm is when the dim light makes way for darkness here. "Day" only lasts about 4 hours. You have around 1 hour of it left.
Mouth hanging open, Aubreen looks incredulous at Zenos. "An interesting addition to your novel!". He turns, stomps away then turns back. "I am not comfortable turning my back and running from Tyranny. It is only when good men do nothing, is it allowed to root and fester. As it has here, now. This will only get worse, people will suffer, they will die." Looking towards each of them, Sirius, Perrin, Zenos, he holds their gaze an overly long second.
"Torm has lead me here, has lead us. Yet I think it only wise to feel some trepidation. Rivisin is allied with powerful friends" He points to the dead moose, the blood pooling, freezing in a congealed spill of bright red splashed against the stark white of the snow near the entrance. "What power was able to create that. Rivisin is not going to just stroll in here for a little chat, if your still standing the passage in your story will be one of action, pain, desperation and hopefully not our death."
Aubreen heads to the entrance, gazing out towards the darkening day, gazing into the tree line. "The moose said nightfall and that time is almost upon us. We need to decide and decide quickly. We don't have much time. If we stay, we need to prepare, have a plan." Dropping his pack he pulls out a couple Pitons and a hammer, then retrieves the rope from the moose. "Drive a piton to block that door at the end, the one leading outside. Then we drive another over the entrance here and over there, set up a snare to catch Rivisin. Hopefully he ends up hanging grappled and prone, or at least knocked off guard." Still looking about the room "You three hide in the dark ready to release the moose and leap upon him when he enters. If he isnt caught by the rope we try to knock him down quick" Again Aubreen looks to his companions, looking for understanding, dissent, what were they thinking. Fear, excitement, he could already feel the slow drip of adrenaline starting to work its way through his system. A tiny quiver had begun in his muscles, spreading outward, distracting as he took furtive looks constantly towards the entrance.
"I still know each of you very little, but it seems you are as surprised by your abilities as I am. We must put our heads together and come up with a plan if we are to survive?" Gathering the expressions on his companions he hopes, waits...
Taking the Hammer and Piton he drives it into the wall just above his head, the lower of the two. He will need help to reach above the entrance for the other piton. Using Survival to craft a simple snare.
Perrin looks worriedly out the whole in the wall at the fading light of day. Aubreen was right; they either had to stay here and try to capture Ravisin or flee back to town. He’d rather not stay here and meet Ravisin. He had to be pretty strong to create something like the moose. He wasn’t sure they’d be able to beat him, even if they managed to surprise him.
Alas, it seemed the others were intent on capturing Ravisin. Sighing, he heads over to the door and keeps watch for anything approaching the cave.
"An ambush, this sounds exciting. I never considered that a possibility but i am in! While you are setting up the trap I can go grab some firewood in case we are stuck here all night." Zenos heads outside to gather firewood keeping and eye out looking for anything that could cause him harm and not wandering to far from the entrance.
Aubreen steps back looking at how to construct the trap, Torm you lead us here, I hope you can guide me and lead us back home(Guidance). He then climbs on Sirius' shoulders to hammer in the upper piton. Looping the rope they haul the moose carcass into the air and create a snare at the door. "A quick tug of this rope will trigger the trap, when Ravisin comes perhaps Zenos, you hide behind the statue and set it off?". Another piton at the outward door and Aubreen retires to the entrance to keep watch.
When Zenos pulls the trigger, the moose plumets, tightening the snare about Ravisin's legs (Grappled) and jerking him prone (Prone): Setting the snare: Survival with help: 24
Keeping watch, we hide when Ravisin arrives and try to surprise him. Perception: 18
Aubreen and Sirius construction of the trap goes smoother than you would expect considering the circumstances. The snare is well camouflaged at the entrance to the burrow.
Zenos, stomping through the underbrush and looking out for loose branches [survival 14], is able to gather enough wood to form a bundle of wood, which weighs 10 lbs and will serve to keep you warm through one long rest (8 hours). Despite the shifting darkness of the forest all around you, nothing disturbs your search.
20 minutes until darkness
Aubreen [perception 18]: Eventually you spot Zenos returning from gathering wood.
Sundown
Perrin [perception 10]: Watching, after a while the visual noise of the white flakes is tiring your eyes. Was that a shape moving through the snow or just your imagination?
15 minutes after sundown
Aubreen [perception 18]: You see a humanoid shape moving through the trees. From their fur mantle and decorative animal bones, it could be a reghed barbarian, but it also matches what a druid might wear.
Everyone can see the figure as it gets close to the entrance. The woman is accompanied by a ... walking shrub? The little bundle of twigs shambles beside the druid like a pet, blueberries dangling from its meagre branches.
The woman lets herself down into the burrow, stepping right into the area occupied by the snare. As the trap closes, she fails to pull herself out of it in time (Dex Save: 11). The druid is ripped to the ceiling by one foot, lifted by the sheer weight of the moose.
She gasps in surprise, looking around wildly. "Who dares?!"
If you wish to attack, you have the surprise element. The druid is suspended 10 feet in the air at the entrance. The shrub that accompanied her is quivering in fear and doesn't look like a threat.
Initiative: 1. Your party: < YOUR TURN 2. Frost druid: surprised, restrained
Because you all rolled higher than the druid in initiative and the druid skips her first turn due to surprise, you can each take two turns before the druid can react.
At the sound of the trap working, Sirius quickly pounces on the frost druid. He swings wildly at the druid trying to render her unconscious. "You're going down evil druid!" Sirius tries to reach into where he got the divine power before but just feels an immense tiredness and doesn't reach anything. It seems that the well of divine power has a bottom.

With Ravisin strung up in the air, Perrin takes a deep breath tries to transform into a wolf like he did last time. However, instead of becoming a wolf, the surge of power that coursed through his body transformed him into a gigantic spider in the blink of an eye. Where Perrin once stood, a colossal white spider with charcoal black markings now stand. Those who have been in the Dale for a while would recognize the spider as one of the infamous "Widowmaker" spiders, a reclusive predator that stalked the mountain ranges around Icewind Dale.
Perrin looks hungrily at his dangling, juicy prey with all eight of his eyes, and his mandibles clack together hungrily in anticipation of the feast to come. Deep down, a part of him was revolted by the thoughts, but he wheels around and launches a burst of filmy webs out of his abdomen to engulf Ravisin. Once cocooned, Perrin skitters across the wall and sinks his fangs into the struggling druid.
Actions:

-Web 25. Hit: The target is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained target can make a DC 12 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success. The webbing can also be attacked and destroyed (AC 10; hp 5; vulnerability to fire damage; immunity to bludgeoning, poison, and psychic damage).
Bite Attack: Attack: 21 Damage: 7 piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw, taking 13 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining hit points, and is paralyzed while poisoned in this way.
Aubreen leaps into action as soon as the moose begins to fall, sword sweeping out before him. "Your tyranny ends here", he yells, stabbing upward repeatably at the druids dangling form.

Aubreen backs away, glaring, keeping a little distance from his companions, "Submit druid, say it".
The frost druid is getting pummeled from all sides. Shrieking and hissing, she is able to resist Zenos' mockery and the worst of Perrins spider bite, but takes the full brunt of your attacks otherwise.
With hate blazing from her eyes, beholding the moose, she shouts: “Killers! I will end you!”
A white-blue glow starts emanating from her, enveloping first her, then you as well. "AURIL, HEAR ME! BRING UNTO THEM DESTRUCTION". Its as if she has become the storm itself, as pieces of debris and chunks of ice get ripped off the ground and into a cylinder-like shape. The spiderwebs and rope holding her are getting torn apart by an ice storm. This blizzard has a 40 foot diameter and is centered on her. For any in that area: Dex Save DC 14 or take 10 bludgeoning, 14 cold on a failure, half that on a success.
Through the terrible storm you see that the druid isn't immune to the effects of her spell, as her pelts and exposed skin are getting sliced open. But it seems she will do anything to bring you down, even if it costs her own life.
The destruction abates (spell effect duration is instantaneous), leaving her breathing heavily, hefting a dagger of frost in the right hand.
