(OOC: When you're saying campaign, you mean the D&D Beyond campaign thingy, right? When I try to make one, they don't work :/.)
Matthÿse and anyone else who wants to can roll a History check to see if they know about what happened to previous contestants.
The guards lead you down twisting hallways, which slowly spiral down towards something. You spot several other groups, also led by guards, walking down in front of you. Finally, you make it to a massive throne room. It has long marble columns that flank a long red carpet leading up to a jewel-encrusted throne. In that throne, a tall elf with striking features sits, lounging in a large purple-and-gold robe, a sign of nobility. Lord Vïldarél.
"I have called you here for an important reason," he says, while the last groups are marching in. "You all know why you're here." And suddenly, a tall, muscular human, about 20 feet away from you, roars.
"I don't want to do this!" he bellows. "I'm sure no one else wants to!" A roar from the crowd around you and from the human's group. And suddenly, the human and his four friends draw axes and charge, blindly raging through the crowd. And one of them is charging right at you.
Calanin has gone with them. *Do we still have our weapons?*

My wings were clipped, my heart in a chain, I suffered then, I walked through pain, but even now I know my strength, and I know I'll go any length to save the ones I love.

(OOC: Yes, you still have your weapons. *Unless your character forgot them...*)
Matthyse and Saferetan, you've both heard some rumors about what happens to previous unruly contestants. You don't know if they are true, but most people say that the contestants are in a floating castle, and the windows can disappear when needed.
The one who's charging you goes after Matthyse, swinging with his greataxe.
So that will be (w/disadvantage) Attack: 18 Damage: 9 or Attack: 19 Damage: 4

OOC: If no one has a problem with it, I can make the campaign for us to join and use the game log to show our rolls. and it will make checking our stats and gear quicker for the DM (if that's an issue)

Just before the barbarian jumps out of the way, Matthyse smashes his warhammer into his face. Blood spills, and the barbarian grabs his nose while backing away even more. However, he does not go down. Saferetan also swings with his hammer, but the barbarian stumbles out of the way, still clutching his nose.
(OOC: Matthyse, you're up again. Saferetan, the scimitar attack won't work because the barbarian is out of your reach.)
OoC: I imagine they'd impale your scaly butt on a pike and feed you to the real dragons.

Matthyse would have tried to convince Calanin to come with them. For whether they participate willingly or not, death was always a possibility.
Watching the rival group charge at them, Matthyse will try to intercept them with his shield and warhammer in hand (taking a dodge action).

Matthyse doesn't want to kill these frightened people rn. He'd rather do it on the arena, so these attack rolls are just to incapacitate them.
