Matthÿse will catch it and eat. Still thinking about all the people who are chosen against their will to offer their lives.
"That was just an execution. And whatever Lord Vildarel is planning, will be just as cruel. Whatever we can do to prepare ourselves for the first game, we should get to it tomorrow immediately. I'm also interested in any equipment we might be able to procure" he'll say looking over at Saferetan.
D&D Beyond offers the ability to link certain aspects on the forum in mouse-over triggered tooltips, such as magic items, monsters or combat actions - examples being Adult Black Dragon and dash. To create tooltips in this way as these, use the appropriate [tag][/tag] around the desired subject.
Example: [ magicitem]sunblade[/ magicitem] (Without spaces within the [ ] brackets.)
Also, no free feats- I'm doing the rule where you can skip an Ability Score Improvement to get a feat)
There's no poison in any of the food. It's the most delicious you've ever had.
Looking out the window, Matthyse sees nothing but the moon above the clouds. However, Saferetan, looking down, you see a shadow pass under the clouds. A massive bird. You've heard about something similar before. Rocs. But why would they be here?
[OoC: What about earning additional feats through combat or role play? As in, let's say one of us survives what should've been death. If it was a particularly harrowing encounter, would you grant us the Alert feat? Or maybe somebody takes a shot to the heart, but comes back with almost no health left and wins us the day -- would you consider giving them the Resilient or Tough feats?]
The night passes uneventfully for you all, however you want to spend it. It seems like years both for the awake and the asleep (for the asleep, it's extremely comfortable, while for the awake, it's annoying as hell). You are all awakened by the rising sun, which spreads through the room quickly. A few hours after the sun rises, a metallic knock, similar to the one from yesterday, comes on the door. "Open up!" a gravelly voice shouts.

After hearing about the Rocs, Matthÿse will respond "It wouldn't be surprising if that's what will eat us if we try to escape."
"They made it very clear we're not going to leave alive unless we win, and even that feels like wishful thinking. Still, I don't plan on giving up without a fight. I think it's only fair I share with my teammates what I'm capable of. So know this... I am just as capable of hurting others as I am of healing them. Should you ever be hurt, you may come to me for aid."

They take you to the large doors you saw yesterday walking back up from the throne room. A large crowd of people is waiting there, similar to the crowd in the throne room yesterday. However, you notice that the crowd here is noticeably smaller. A soldier, adorned with buttons showing his rank, leans against the doors in a royal outfit, facing the crowd. "All right, all right," he calls, quieting the anxious crowd. "The doors will open soon. Hopefully, I have enough time to brief you on what's going to happen."
"Do we get to fight?" a husky voice calls from your left.
"No, you must save that for the Games," the soldier replies in an elegant, trained voice, but it's easy to tell that he's exasperated. "Anyway, in these rooms you will prove your might. You will have today and tomorrow to train in here, and then tomorrow night, we will announce the ones who have impressed us the most. They will be given an advantage in the Games."
Then, the doors creak open behind him. "Well, look at that," he says, surprised. The crowd starts to rush in at a gale's speed.

You walk into a massive room. Windows line the far side, and the sun lights the entire room. Looking around, you see tons of weapons scattered around the floor and in baskets. There's everything you'd want for practicing- dummies, targets, and the like.
(OOC: Here's an important room! In this room, if you spend the entire time (or most of it) training with one weapon you don't have proficiency with, you gain proficiency with that weapon!)

My mind wonders, "I looked outside, why do you think Rocs would be out there right now?"

I shrug. Between bites, I say,
"When did... he say we... would only... be... fighting... each other?"
I down one more cup of elderberry wine. It's starting to catch up. I fill it once more, then stand up.
"I... think I'm going to bed." I wander to the bed chambers.
"I agree, there is not much else to do today"
I leave the table, and there is no trace that I was even eating here. I walk into the bed chambers as well.

I simply stroll in. My disgust for all of this grows by the minute. I try not to let it show, however.
