(OOC: Here's an important room! In this room, if you spend the entire time (or most of it) training with one weapon you don't have proficiency with, you gain proficiency with that weapon!)
OOC: I think Matthyse can use almost every type of weapon except Firearms. Are there any firearms he could learn to use and/or keep? Otherwise, he'll just help others train.
I consider my options, ultimately deciding a ranged weapon would be beneficial, should one of my enemies utilize antimagic.
I peruse the choices among crossbows, spears, etc, but ultimately settling on a brute of a crossbow at the far end of the line. Dragging the thing at first, I slowly become accustomed to its heft. It's my aim where I suffer. But, such is the point of training.
(OOC: No firearms, sorry. The technology isn't that advanced yet :/.)
For the rest of the day, you train, slowly getting better and better at the weapons you've chosen. There are a few axe-throwing and sword-fighting incidents, but the blades stop, hovering in the air a few feet away from the target. However, the guards do not let you take your weapons with you.
(OOC: I'm gonna wait for everyone to tell me the weapons they're training with... so far, we have Kuuraht who is training with a crossbow, heavy?)
If Calanin keeps training with his regular weapons, will he get more perks from them?

OoC: It's the only one that would have that significant of a weight detriment. But yes.
I pace for a moment, I know I have to get a range weapon but which one...Ah! I look in my bag, I have had a crossbow in there for a while but I really didn't use it. So I walk over to the crossbow in the weapon area and take one and some crossbow bolts and target and start aiming. It feels easier to use now.
(OOC: Ok, we now have Kuuraht with a crossbow, heavy (heavy crossbow) Saferetan with a crossbow, light (light crossbow), and Matthyse helping people train. Calanin?)
(OOC: Bananer, just put the weapon Calanin trained with into your next post.)
You train for hours, breaking for a brief luncheon, but otherwise, there's no break. There's a couple of incidents of fighting, but the blades and arrows stop feet away from the targets. Finally, at sundown, you're escorted back to your rooms. The guards leave you in your room, and there is a feast prepared for you. Just as you're leaving, you hear the guards muttering among themselves, which is interesting because they're trained to say the most important things.
Anyone who wants to hear what they're saying, roll a Perception check.

All three of you can make out what they’re saying. For Matthyse, it’s a bit muffled. “Can’t wait for the Blood Games this year. Old Lord Vecna’s been wanting some food for a while. And let me tell you, he isn’t nice when he’s hungry.” Another one grunts. “Who are you betting on?” “Eh, I don’t know. I had my money on the barbarians, but Vecna killed them all.”
I'm no history buff, so the name means nothing to me. I shrug and begin filling my plate. I pull a giant cut of fried fish off the center platter and pour myself some -- hm! Honeywine, this time. The butter roasted turnips call my name as well.
