Woodscrape nods to ArdneK and listens to the response.
The kenku seems distraught by the realisation. "Ye gods! Me crew entered in 1487 and yer telling me it's 1492?"
They appreciate the passphrase, nodding along to what ArdneK says, rubbing a thoughtful beak. [Thieve's Cant, ArdneK] The kobold also recognizes the subtle hand motion as meaning: Acknowledged
Woodscrape then gives a wave and walks away in the direction to the first level, muttering to themself.
"Well, we learned if we make it down to level six, to be on our toes for this wizard. If they are still around. I'm OK waking another, seems a bit sad to leave them. Sad, but also prudent."
ArneK checks the feather, trying to determine if its magial. Arcana10
Rico responds, "We've learned that they've been statues for years, but not decades or centuries. So they won't be completely lost when they exit the labyrinth."
"Of course, I can help as well. I'm small, but nearly as strong as Steel."
This time the statue is quite a bit more difficult to move, on account of the size, even with Steel helping.
As Pisgah and the defender move the half-elf into the circle with the light, the quadrone makes itself known again. It says something in its buzzing voice, holding up four fingers. It then makes a ticking noise, imitating a clock surprisingly well. [Investigation - Canti] Canti realizes that the quadrone ticks exactly 24 times.
After it finishes ticking, the construct balls the fist it was using to hold up the four fingers and then points at the caryathids once again, saying "Elf magic!" This time, the statues don't react to the phrase.
OOC: Preyfire, Pisgah's INT is only 10 so he is average. I think this means the magic only works once every 24 hours. Do you want me to roll an Int check for that?
"Four times," Canti says. "'Elf magic' has been said four times." She puts her fists on her hips. "Only two of those times did the light un-petrify, but I suppose that doesn't matter."
Rico comments, "So should we put the elf back where it was, or just come back tommorow? I wouldn't want to leave someone here long term. Hmm, I wonder if you can unpetrify more than one creature at a time?"
You three move the statue back to where you took it from without issues. The quadrone does a little bow back to Rico, then resumes walking its circle, satisfied that its explanation had been understood.
Pisgah heads out toward the stairs and begins to descend, taking his time to casually observe the area for sort of signal or device that may alert the Dead Eye watch post to our presence.
Pisgah hears some distant conversation from the direction of the Dead Eye watchpost, involving the unmistakeable voice of Woodscrape. But the path to the third level is clear.

[Missed this, my apologies]
ArdneK gets a faint prickling in his fingers when moving them along the length of the feather. Could be an unusual biological property, or indeed the traces of some enchantment.
[The party has reached the 3rd level of Undertmountain, good job!]
Freeing Woodscrape: 300 XP Reaching the 3rd level bonus: 1500 XP
As the group descends, the air gets colder, almost frigid. There is the faintest hint of a breeze from below. For hundreds of steps, the corridor steadily descends into the darkness.
[Anyone using a torch, tick one off here]
Finally, you see level ground ahead. It seems the stairwell leads straight into a dusty corridor.
To your left, a large room comes into view. The smooth-carved walls bear engraved imagery of mountains marbled with veins of glittering minerals, and the marble floor is caked in dust. Shelf-like niches carved into the walls are stacked three high. Each of these open tombs contains the dust-covered bones of a long-dead dwarf. [Pisgah - Backstory] [Canti & Rico - Religion 16+] This seems like a sort of temple dedicated to the dwarven god Dumathoin, patron of mining and exploration and the protector of the dwarven dead.
To your right, the corridor curves off in a southward direction, heading further into the darkness.

" So, what did we learn from that? Do we try one of the drow or the half-elf? "
"Well, we learned if we make it down to level six, to be on our toes for this wizard. If they are still around. I'm OK waking another, seems a bit sad to leave them. Sad, but also prudent."

"Let me see if I can move the half elf in here. Rico, would you have Steel come with me to assist with moving it? "
STRENGTH check of 11 (with ADV assuming an assist from Steel)

[If Canti communicates her realization to the party, I think he'd figure out without a check.]

She adds to the quadrone, "Thanks for your help!"
Rico then bows to the quadrone.
Pisgah will begin to haul the statue back to the room. STRENGTH check of 18.
Rico and Steel will assist.
You three move the statue back to where you took it from without issues. The quadrone does a little bow back to Rico, then resumes walking its circle, satisfied that its explanation had been understood.
Pisgah will retrieve Cabrito and ask "Are we ready to head on down the stairs to the third level? "
"I'm ready to move on" ArdneK says. "We can try and come back here later if we like, seems like we can't do anything here now."
Pisgah heads out toward the stairs and begins to descend, taking his time to casually observe the area for sort of signal or device that may alert the Dead Eye watch post to our presence.

Pisgah continues to descend the steps, giving Cabrito more lead line and letting the goat drag behind.
