Chuckling, "Huh, you may be on to something. If it were willing, and we added some armor, it could be a pretty good steed. Then again, it may just trample you and try to rip your throat out. You never know with a boar. We could try and in a worst case scenario, bacon would be on the menu. "
OOC: Converted 5 wood scraps into 5 torches for Steel, -1 torch for the short rest.
Right after I posted that she was making torches I remembered that there was a magic item she was going to figure out. Guess she'll get that on the next rest.
Pisgah will untie the lead rope from around Cabrito, trusting that the goat understands enough to stay at the back of the party, er herd, and begins to head back toward the north opening. "Well, let's be on our guard but there must be something nasty down this way. I wonder if the tunnel here doesn't lead back to the area where we found that defaced alter to Dumethaion (spellling?) and the entrance from that copper lined room?"
Pisgah begins to slowly walk down the tunnel, STEALTH roll of 17.
The cave passage is quite deep and as you walk into the darkness, the strange clicking sounds become louder.
Pisgah is able to sneak around a corner and get a look. The creatures within don't notice him. It's four gricks, floating above the floor their tentacles waving lazily. The clicking sounds emanate from them, as they are conversing in their strange language. There is nothing else of material interest in this dark cave, nor is there any exit to be seen.
The party is about 30 feet behind Pisgah, which is how far they're bound to get without causing undue attention. [If the others wish to approach unseen, it's a DC 12 stealth check, which Pisgah has already passed.]
Seeing nothing of obvious value in the cavern, Pisgah heads back to the party. When he reconnects with them, "There are only four creatures in the cavern with nothing of obvious value in there. The creatures are some we saw as statues, four tentacles around a beak with a body like a snake. I don't see much upside in attacking them. If you want to attack and investigate, I am willing but my vote would be to continue east from the burial area."
Pisgah nods at ArdneK and keeps on moving around to the corridor leading away from the burial chamber to the east. Once he begins to enter the corridor, he will attempt to being stealthy again. STEALTH roll of 18
The party makes its way down the eastern corridor. You soon notice that there is a disturbing increase in the frequency of spider webs in this area.
You come upon a crossing that seems to have been created when natural caves met the constructed path you're on. A northern and southeastern corridor continue on into the darkness. Thanks to his stealthy approach, Pisgah is able to lean around the corner to the south and spots four quaggoths standing in a room there. They are relaxed, but are clearly guarding an entrance to the west.
[Same as before, the rest of the party can attempt stealth checks [DC 11] to move further without causing the creatures to notice them.] [The webs are covering the floors, walls and ceiling where you see them on the map. These areas are difficult terrain, as the webbing is either tugging at your clothes or getting in your way as you try to avoid it.]
As Canti's mind visualizes the strange creatures Pisgah describes, she looks like she might say something, but she finally releases her held breath and follows behind the others, keeping her thoughts to herself.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rico and Steel try to move up quietly while dodging the webs. They don't have any clothes to get snagged, but getting it stuck to their metal skin is annoying.
"Shall we check out these cavern passages first? Or are we in the mood for a fight!" he asks, raising an eyebrow at the others, hands on his sword hilts.
Pisgah bends down a touch as he pulls the shield around to his back and pulls out the longbow. Whispering toward the Kobold, "I don't know that we will have an option for that. I would hate to have these beasts at our backs if we have to fight the web spinners down these tunnels. I'm waiting to see what these creatures do since I heard Steel clanging off the wall." Pisgah nocks the arrow and prepares to send two arrows at #3
[Yeah, Pisgah could shoot an arrow from there at 3] [Not sure if Canti also wanted to sneak, but since Steel already did an oopsie, I'll just check.] Canti stealth: 14 [that works]
Rico, ArdneK and Canti make their way towards Pisgah with little noise. However, Steel is being hindered by some spiderwebs, causing the guardian to stumble and stub its toe against the stonework, causing a scraping noise.
The quaggoths are on their feet in seconds, their claws extending menacingly. The leader (3), roars something in undercommon at the party in a demanding tone.
Initiative is called for!
1. Rico/Steel and ArdneK 2. Quaggoths 3. Pisgah and Canti
Rico will have Steel dash foward to be in front of everyone else to provide protection. Rico herself will move forward just enough to see one of the Quaggoths, then take a couple shots at it.
Arnek's arrow catches the leader in the side, whereupon it utters a painful grunt. It attempts to charge at the party, but is stopped short by Ricos bullets, both of which connect. The furry humanoid is sent sprawling to the floor, dead.
The remaining three break out in loud shouts and roars.
One of them (2) bangs at the door that they were guarding, then takes some cover. The other two charge at Steel, slashing at the defender with their claws. Quaggoth 1, Attack 1: 19, Damage: 6 slashing Quaggoth 1, Attack 2: Nat 1 Quaggoth 4, Attack 1: 16, Damage: 6 slashing Quaggoth 4, Attack 2: 18, Damage: 6 slashing
Initiative: 1. Rico/Steel and ArdneK < YOUR TURN 2. Quaggoths 3. Pisgah and Canti < YOUR TURN
[Since Rico and ArdneK are first in round 2, you can go again.]
Attack 2: to hit 6 (on a Nat 1 - no need to roll dmg)
Seeing the longbow begin to develop a crack, Pisgah releases the arrow early hoping he can ask Rico to mend it later and tosses the bow back to the northwest. Raging in frustration, Pisgah enters a rage and grows out his tail, as he rushes to stand beside Steel drawing his Greatsword.
ArdneK rushes up, a low giggle could be heard by any listening. He moves up to #4, if dead, #1, and attacks.
attack: 19 dmg 20 (8 pierce, 9 sneak, 3 bludge)
bonus: 9 (nat one) damage 4 (silvered shortsword if it matters)
ArdneK will the move 5 feet NW, behind Steel. whomever i attacked CANT make Opp attacks against me. So unless they are both still alive, ArdneK backs away clean.

If Pisgah steps 1 square to the east, does it look like there is a path to fire an arrow at #3?

Attack: 26, Damage: 8 -- using piercer feat to reroll that damage: 13 magical piercing
If the first shot (19) misses, let me know; I can use a bonus action to curve the missed shot to try to hit another creature.
