"Uh, thanks." as Pisgah shoves the tankard into his backpack. He checks the door for traps, an Investigation roll of 18, and then opens the door if no traps are found.
Upon finding no traps, the door is opened. Although as Pisgah tries push on it, there is quite a bit of resistance.
Soon enough it becomes obvious why: Propped against the door, is the maggot-eaten corpse of a female dwarf adventurer, wearing tattered leather armor and a matching leather skullcap. In one skeletal hand, she clutches a dagger; in the other, an empty tin flagon. On a bench in the room is a Burglar's Pack, complete except for the lantern and the flasks of oil.
There is a crate with 5 more unopened flagons standing in a corner of the room.
Nikkitch identifies the tell-tale signs of arsenic poisoning. The dwarf wouldn't have noticed anything for a few minutes and then wouldn't have been able to move effectively as the poison took hold. The tang of garlic on the flagon she's holding confirms that further.
Pisgah sees that she was wearing a necklace with the holy symbol of Dumathoin, the Keeper of Secrets under the Mountain. A god revered mainly amongst shield dwarves. The armor and tattered cloth don't feature distinguishing marks you'd expect of a professional adventuring company. Likely she was down here alone or part of a similar group as yours. The corpses position and the opened pack on the table suggests that she may have been resting. Then, something caused her to slump backwards against the door, which is where she met her end.

With care, Pisgah will take the dwarf's body and lay it upon the table to the east, arranging the holy symbol on her chest and folding her hands upon the dagger, the only weapon she has remaining to her. He silently bows his head to her and then asks the group, "Now, what do we do about that troll?"
Pisgah returns to the dwarves body and says "With your leave, little sister, may I borrow your blade and give you one last strike and the creatures who lurked here?"
Taking the blade from her hands, Pisgah will pierce the manticore leg to allow the poison from a flagon to seep into the meat. Nature roll of 3 OR Survival roll of 20. "Would anyone else like to try to poison this meat before one of us tries to sneak it down the hall?"
Once others have a go at applying the toxins, Pisgah will offer to sneak down the hallway and leave the leg at the corner and return to the room before Nikk imitates a manticore.
Once everyone is done with the dagger, Pisgah will return it to the dwarf.
Pisgah lays a hand on the kenku's shoulder/wing and tells him "If you can use the little sister's armor that is one thing but if you cannot then leave it and the dagger with her."

A tense pause ensues. Nikkitch weighs his options. He could... No, not enough room. Perhaps a shock, then...? Hmm.
Eventually, however, the wizard relents.
As he steps to the door, he mutters in the Genasi's voice: "Those words. Would. Carry. More weight. If. You. Weren't. Wearing a. Shield."
Pisgah grabs the other length of rope, "We can bind the troll if it becomes incapacitated to try to delay it. We could also try to put it into a smaller room and secure the doors with pitons too."
The flagons content, a strange smelling wine, soaks into the manticore leg, mixing with the blood still dripping from it. It is rather unappealing, but looks similar to what the troll was eating.
Once all have finished doctoring the manticore leg, Pisgah will try sneaking up to the corner of the hallway and carefully push the leg into the hallway for the troll while keeping hidden behind the corner. Stealth roll of 27 (17 plus 10 for PwT). Then he will come back down the hallway to rest of the group and hide behind the corner there waiting for Nikk to mimic a manticore.

Canti nods appreciatively. "The mad mage must have planned to have many dinner parties."
Nikkitch, weary of the corpse, examines its composition. He suspects poison.
[Medicine: 17]
Pisgah looks for runes or any other Dwarvish symbols which may shed light on who this person was and what items she was carrying.

[Is the armor in decent condition?]
With care, Pisgah will take the dwarf's body and lay it upon the table to the east, arranging the holy symbol on her chest and folding her hands upon the dagger, the only weapon she has remaining to her. He silently bows his head to her and then asks the group, "Now, what do we do about that troll?"
The Kenku points to the flagons. "Drinks. Are. Poisoned. Maybe lace. The meat?"
[OoC: I'm going to just use the voices of the dead (manticore, corpses, other things we killed, etc) from now on, unless specifying otherwise.]
“Yep, it’s the troll room, or back to where we entered, I think. As far as the troll, do we try to talk to it, or just attack?” Jaya asks.
Yes, apart from rust on the metal parts of the straps and the stench of death. Doesn't seem like it has seen a great deal of combat.
[Then...] Nikk appropriates the armor for himself. He can't use it, naturally, but he may eventually be able to.
[Nikkitch takes Leather Armor]
Pisgah lays a hand on the kenku's shoulder/wing and tells him "If you can use the little sister's armor that is one thing but if you cannot then leave it and the dagger with her."

As he steps to the door, he mutters in the Genasi's voice: "Those words. Would. Carry. More weight. If. You. Weren't. Wearing a. Shield."
"I will help you poison the meat. Perhaps if we disable the troll with it, there will be no need to kill him. If not, well, so be it."
OOC: What do I roll for poisoning? I'll guess:Sleight of Hand 23 (nat 20) OR Nature 17
If no one protests, Jaya will take the pitons and ball bearings from the burglar pack.
Pisgah grabs the other length of rope, "We can bind the troll if it becomes incapacitated to try to delay it. We could also try to put it into a smaller room and secure the doors with pitons too."
((nature and survival work both in this instance))
