Jaylin takes the cart a long way out of town to keep as far away from the wolves. As the horde gets closer to the centre of the hamlet, the figure on the roof leaps down the back of the building, disappearing from sight.
(We'll go out of initiative for now, the group reconvenes outside of the farm.)
While still taking care of the wounded, making sure they are comfortable, the elf says
"Well... that was intense! We have learned an important thing though... as we suspected the wolves are not responsible of this. They are beign commanded by that creature. I suggest that as soon as our friends recover, we track that creature down and put this situation to an end. "
He looks towards the dead wolves.
"Poor creatures. If you excuse me, I will take care of them "
He then take their cart and starts loading the dead wolves into it, then he goes outside the village, not so far, and gather some fallen branches and leafs from the trees and make and improvised funerary pire for the wolves. Drop them into it and burn them. He then returns to the others, hoping that his comrades had recovered the counsciousness.
As Dar'Quilyn heads over to the six dead wolves to check over them, he notices something quite interesting; all of them appear to have the same minor scar just behind the tip of their nose. They are all identical.
*interesting* he thinks to himself. Does the scar could have been done by a fang? As if some alpha had bitten them to show its leadership? Could it be part of a ritual that binds them to that creature we saw before? ( Should it require a Nature:5 or Arcana: 23 ) there were so many questions. He takes mental note of it to share with the rest when he comes back.
The marks on the wolves are uncannily identical. There is no deviation between each wolf. In fact, it is almost like every wolf here could be the exact same wolf!
"That's even weirder!" exclaims the wizard while acknowleding it. ( any ritual or spell that he knows of that could do it? Arcana12 )
No doubt a mistery that needs to be unsolved. As soon as he returns to the others he shares his discovery with them.
" As I was taking care of the wolves I've made an unsettling and strange discovery. All the wolves seems to be... the same wolf. Like if one wolf had been.. copied again and again to form that horde. That would explain the unnatural behavior of the pack, but opens a lot more questions to deal with... "
Dar'Quilyn knows that there are a couple of spells that can make duplicates. For example, the spell Simulacrum allows for a duplicate, but they fall into clumps of snow after being destroyed. The Clone spell is also possible, but both of these seem like excessively powerful and expensive spells to be used to make an army of wolves. Spamming conjuration spells would be better at making an army.

(Yes please) Johann considers the wolves and how they are apparently the same until Kithre and Brazzak wake back up. (Would he know of anything like this? Arcana 14 )
The group returns to the farmhouse. After knocking and calling, Jess can be heard removing her barricades to open up. "Quick, bring them in." She says, nodding at the unconscious Brazzak and Kithre. "I told you not to go out there." She seems annoyed, but not angry. However, she isn't impressed with her hired saviours getting beat up so quickly after there arrival.
Back to now...
The group waits for Brazzak and Kithre to recover, they reawaken on 1 HP. They find themselves on straw mattress beds with the others around them. Jess left a jug of water for them to take a drink from.
Johann theorises what Dar'Quilyn mentioned is correct, there are spells that duplicate creatures, but they are way too expensive to be done on such a scale to make a full horde of wolves.
"But what was it? That's the question. If we don't know what it is, then we won't know how to defeat it. Knowledge is power after all." Johann seems frustrated at how this turned out, but accepts that they probably weren't prepared.

Kithre snores softly in the cart, breathing shallow but steady.
(We can skip a little ahead in time if we're waiting for Kithre and Brazzak to awaken, possibly try and get back into the farmhouse?)

(an hour later)
"Snort. Snrk. Hwah! Wha' happened?"
"Ow."

(Sounds good for me. If you want you can make Dar come back when they are already wake up)

"Good morning buddie " says Dar to Brazzak " Don't ever do that again I thought I was going to lose you for a second there."
" Do you think we will be able to track that creature? Once they are healed up of course " says the wizard to the rest of the party.
