@Miglasezis, @SunDial ... I know you had a lower lifestyle expense marked on your sheet ... but them's the breaks. Being an adventurer can get expensive.
That's a-okay! In the story Balen put his canoe (basically his house) next to the inn so I bet the innkeeper found it or something and was like 'hey you can't just park your boat on my land and now you gotta pay rent' now he gotta pay rent. reminds me of when I was younger. I hate landlords :(
Also, is anyone going to negotiate the 50gp reward for the second dive and more information on Cult of Bhaal? It seemed at first a bit low at first, but then I'm like "well...that would pay for 50 days of living expenses."
Also, another point of going to buy potions: it would let us meet one of the NPCs in town (Mirabelle Greenleaf - Herbalist and Alchemist, for reference), and since they would be providing a lot of support at low levels, best getting a good rapport with them.
I know Rinn also wants to talk to look at Archibald Library (owned by Professor Archibald Fairweather - Scholar and Historian, for reference) as he thinks that such a location might be able to give us more information about the Cult of Bhaal, and also just general local history that might be useful.
Note: My inclusion of the names is for my own sake, since I'm terrible with names and want to get more fluid with them via usage.
Balen looks good. I added the shield he took from the dungeon, and forgot about the net he took. I bumped him down one oil flask to account for the one used during the last encounter.
It looks like he now has a book on his person as well. This book wasn't found in a dungeon was it? I can't remember ...
He is sketching stuff all the time
^^^ yep just a placeholder for his memory journal/sketchbook
"Oh, I think Balen actually combed his hair today, good to know that he knows how to do that.‘
also the mention of the chamber pot gave me flashbacks of art history and made me remember this artwork called "An Old Woman at a Window emptying a Chamber Pot" ('Sleazy Bess')(1700-1724) man art history is so long ago. that ain't my major no more!

I mean...I think Rinn would be okay with 50gp, but Balen is also the haggling type anyways (e.g., him in the very first scene of Chapter 1).
Now I'm just imagining him trying to sell his old junk to Stormshield's rich friends lol

Yeah, they probably kicked Toads out of the stables too

Yaudara's in it for the evil-purging, so he's not going to haggle over price.
I kind of want to discretely cast infestation on the Baron :D
I mean the sinkhole is off the table, but we're quite certain there is an entrance from the town somewhere. We could probably at least have a rough idea which part of the city it should be in.

Parking expenses can be brutal in the city lol

I’ll keep the comfortable 2 GP lifestyle, Ichep does like his luxuries.
@Samhain @SunDial I‘m glad my post was funny :D
Where to go:
Cool, since it only exists for fluff purposes I have no issues with Balen keeping it. I will adjust the cost of that item down to 0gp.
Moving forward, please don't add items to your sheet unless they were found/acquired/purchased.
Yaudara's in it for the evil-purging, so he's not going to haggle over price.
The negotiations are not going well. :(
OH NO

Bards and rogues man. If my orc was on the aggressive side, we might have had a TPK in the Barons hall :D
I think we just spend our money and go back down regardless. Just Balen leads the charge or goes defusing landmines with a sledgehammer smh
When you think the worst he can say is no.
WOW that was tense. The baron is great, but he makes me mad :D
Going back down is off the table then... or delayed until something horrible happens and the baron comes crawling back for help.
Edit: We're forbidden from going down. So if he hears of us going back down, our heads might roll for all we know, right?
