"Alright, that's more like it," she says encouragingly. "Now come on inside with everyone else. I've got some goodies for you all."
Once everyone has all gathered inside, Viira goes about and makes sure everyone has their proper case, including Jhessana and Dietrich, who looks mildly surprised to be included.
"Alright," Viira finally continues, "as you can probably guess, each of these cases now belongs to the individual whose name they bear. You treat'em right, and they should last you a good LONG time. That said, to get at the contents I know you're all now wondering about, you'll need these."
From a pocket of her vest that looks far too small to hold them, Viira produces a handful of silvery metal keys that match the locking mechanisms built into the chests. You can see that each key has an ornate leather tag dangling from it, each stenciled with the name matching its correct chest.
As best you can tell, the chests (including the locks) and the keys were very recently made, and the only thing you recognize about the style of their construction is that they appear similar to the footlockers used by crew members about board sailing ships.
Phillandros ponders the box momentarily then says "Well.....are you going to give out the keys Viira? or shall I just open it myself...." as he smiles as he holds his box in both hands.
Hildigrim accepts his key from Viira most carefully with both hands, as if it is a great treasure. He walks over to his box and slides the key into the lock, turning the key gingerly and then opening the lid.
Phillandros: You hear a solid 'click' as the locking mechanism turns. ;)
Hildigrim: As you open the lid to your box, you note a number of things. First, your box is way larger than necessary for the size of the items contained within. You reckon you could fit most if not all of your personal possessions in the box. More importantly for the moment though, you take note of the boxes contents. You see what appears to be a collection of black garments, including a finely woven coat with silver fittings. You see a short stick made of some kind of blackened metal, slightly narrower at one end and etched with a number of unfamiliar runes. You see a pair of black leather contraptions that you instantly recognize as the halfling equivalent of knee-high boots, designed to wrap around the ankles and shins to give protection without impeding the feet. There's also a set of what appears to be stylized black leather armor. And, most importantly for the moment, you see a beautiful four-cylinder revolver, sized perfectly for you and crafted of silvery metal and the same dark colored ironwood of the chest itself.
OOC: Hopefully those custom items link properly...
OOC: Urgh....Let me see if I can work this out. Okay, I've linked to the item detail pages for the KoT Uniform pieces, but I'm not sure you'll be able to access them since the items aren't published. Let me know if you can or not.
Phillandros: As you open your chest, you find much the same as Hildigrim, only all of it made for a person of your size and build. The uniform garments are there as well as the wand, and you have actual boots instead of the strange leg-warmers that Hildi has. What is notably different however, is the firearm you find and the armor. Reaching into the case, you pull out the device that I've chosen to call "Hacknblast."
Since I'm not certain you guys can use the links to the custom items I've made, I'll give you its description here:
Hacknblast:
This HEAVILY customized blunderbuss is larger than most, crafted of heavy sky iron imported from Lantan. It sports a large, axe-like bayonet and its structure is fortified in such a way that it can readily be used like a Battleaxe, though it cannot be swung one-handed. Its name is engraved down the length of the barrel in gnomish runes. Reload 1; Misfire 3
Once you've finally managed to set that down for a moment, you pull out a set of chain mail with the following description:
This specially forged suit of darkened steel chain mail is designed for wear with the Knights of Thunder Basic Uniform. It is adorned with silver fittings and highlights to mimic the appearance of the Parade Uniform jacket and can be worn in its place during requisite events.
The meager silence in the room is suddenly shattered by the deepest rumbling sound you've ever heard. The skin on your arms starts to crawl at the sound, you look around trying to see what hellish fiend has suddenly invaded this sanctuary.....
Only to realize that its coming from Phillandros......and it appears he he laughing while holding a massive bladed 'thing' you can only hope is maybe for splitting logs....or spreading cheese perhaps, because whoa be the person on the business end of whatever it is he is now holding above his head.
Edgar: In your box you find the same uniform pieces in your size, the same wand, and the same knee-high boots. Instead of leather armor or a full suit of chain mail though, you find a chain shirt with the following description:
This specially forged shirt of darkened steel chain mail is intended for wear with the Knights of Thunder Basic Uniform. It provides optimal protection for the torso while minimally restricting mobility, and fits comfortably beneath the Parade Uniform jacket.
For your firearm, you find a six-barreled [Tooltip Not Found] of similar make to Hildi's pistol.
Gimmur waits until most of the others are engrossed in their crates before walking over to Viira and taking his key with a grin and then hurrying to his crate to find out what his future holds...

Any historical significance to the box, lock or key?

Phillandros holds his box up to his ear and shakes it - listening for any rattles

Viira cocks an eyebrow at Phillandros before looking at the handful of keys she continues to hold up.
"What, do you think I'm holding these out just for my health?"
"Yes..." and then Phillandros goes and gets his key from the gnome, and then sits back down on the ground with his box and unlocks it.

Specifically, you now have two sets each of KoT Uniform (Basic) and KoT Uniform (Parade), a set of Studded Leather styled to go with the uniform, a Wand of Pyrotechnics, a pair of Boots of Striding and Springing, and your own shiny new Pistol (Exandria).
