Eron doesn’t show the pain he must be feeling from such a nasty injury… if anyone does help they probably notice many other scars, looks like his body was skewered like a voodoo doll… He just stoically accepts any help.
Regdus will try to help, but medecine was never his strong suits (rolled a 9). While trying to bandage the wound of his camarade, he wonders out loud "What were those things ? Is it normal for theé to be so close to a fishemen village ?" He then snap back to reality and asks his team " Should we just come back empty handed and explain we found nothing but some devilish creatures? I mean we did try to find something.... There are not a trace of the vessel"
Geralt Wildeye looks appreciatively at Therris' suggestion to return to shore, then appears crestfallen as the others talk of trying one last spot to search.
[If anyone is curious about Ixitxachitl's, they can make either an Arcana or a Nature check.]

You've both heard of these creatures, but only in passing: Fane, from a few brief passages in old books; and Therris from a few too drunk sailor's tales. They are supposed to be intelligent and evil sea creatures of extra planar origin, but that's all you recall.
Eron:
You've heard stories for as long as you have lived in Saltmarsh, and you've looked into them to know whats true and what isn't. There are enough of these Ixitxachitls prowling the coast that their sightings are not unusual. They are cruel, deadly manta ray-like creatures, possessed of an unnatural intelligence. They almost always travel in groups, and they rely on their similarity to less dangerous species to get close to unsuspecting victims. They are known to have a particular taste for other intelligent species, and you have heard more than once that they will go to great lengths to keep their prey alive, even lingering at the surface so their captives can breathe as they drag them deeper out to sea....
Redgusand Tilliman:
You've both encountered sea stories of these monsters, but you've also heard a bit about where they really come from. The nickname 'demon rays' hits closer to home than most old sea dogs realize. The Ixitxachitl are in fact a race of fiends, said to be devoted to one of the great demon lords of the abyss, though there is some debate as to whether they are subjects to Dagon or to Demogorgon. Despite their origins in the abyss, somehow large numbers of these monsters have migrated to Oerth, where they seem to particularly enjoy warm, tropical waters.

Geralt fights the waves until he has the boat positioned over the deep pool spotted by Fane's familiar. "By all that's holy, please make this quick. I'm exhausted from fighting these thrice be-damned waves."

Tilliman, seeming distracted as the boat moves into position asks the others, "Erm. Terribly sorry... Not to cause a panic or anything, but how much do you all know about demonic ecology?... I ask because I think it's entirely possible these aquatic predators we've encountered are-em... Not entirely natural in their origin..."
Realizing they are approaching a deeper pool of water, his tone becomes more urgent, eyes flipping between the pool and the storm clouds. "In fact, you see, it's highly possible that these creatures are abyssal in nature which, if you'll excuse my somewhat excited state, I find a rather alarming considering our-eh... Oh dear... Our approaching proximity to what appears to be a point of great depth."

Regdusand Eronresume their search, diving down deep to check the entire water column, from the surface down to the bottom. Luckily, they keep their eyes up and alert, for they both notice that several of the large rocks on the bottom are not rocks, but are in fact giant crabs. They take care to stay well out of reach of this gaggle of crustaceans as they search.
Once again, however, the search is fruitless. There are no signs of any remains here.
After gathering again at the boat, Geralt informs you that the trip is over and that he is returning to shore, no matter what the rest of you say. Indeed, the first white whisps of cloud are approaching the coast, the vanguard of the coming storm. The southern horizon behind it has gone dark with heavy clouds. The clouds themselves are a dazzling mix of dark colors, from grey to indigo to almost green. The winds now are strong enough that Geralt has to raise his voice as he orders you to sit low and hold on. Looking to the shore, the palm trees are already swaying.
Despite the storm and her own present difficulties, it is Fanewho hand catches upon a loose piece of debris... a bit of wood from a crate or barrel. Raising it up, she can clearly see that the wood is not smashed or splintered. Instead, it bears clear chop marks, as if firewood cut by an axe.
Pulling back to the beach in Crabbers Cove, the party returns empty handed, left to ponder the mystery of the shipwreck without a wreck, corpses or anything more than vast amounts of small, hand-cut debris. Throughout the cove, crabbers are pulling their boats further up onto the beach, securing their pots, or standing on porches with one another, looking south and discussing the severity of the approaching weather.
The clouds are now dampening the sun overhead, but based on the time of your arrival, the trip to the Wicker Goat, and the expedition to sea, it feels like it is probably early afternoon.
