Seems like it, but I'd say give it a bit longer. Unfortunately though it is a rather common occurrence for dms and players a like to disappear without notice.
Hey, I'm just happy I didn't get exclusively dropped or break the poor guy with that last round. If you guys are in the same boat as me, then I'm pretty sure he'd at least have told you he was dropping y'all. Something likely came up, same as last time.
Purely out of curiosity, and if you're okay with sharing, which story was yours?
I'm playing as a path of the beast Barbarian mixed with the flavor of a Bloodhunter. Basically he is a natural born lycanthope that served in a sect of the Selunite church to deal with evil lycanthropes and other more dangerous enemies of the Moonmaiden. I see them as having a lot of Bloodhunters multiclassed with paladins and clerics as they usually only pick new members from the clergy or those born into the sect like my character.
He has always struggled with his curse when it comes to the finer points of control so he never became a Bloodhunter but has enough that he can focus it into his rages. In order to be sure that he never loses control those like him have a partner/handler to help them stay under control or in a worse case scenario put them down if they lose themselves to the curse. While he didn't totally lose control he was injured badly enough to have a brief lasted where he either severely injured if not killed his partner. Either way it would he seen as him losing control and in desperation he fled away and took up living in isolation in an abandoned farm that is a few miles away from a very small and superstitious village.
At the start he has been there for about six months, using chains and other various things he has learned to keep himself contained when he is forced to change by the moon. His goal now is to either learn to fully control his transformations and prove to the sect he can return or to find someone with magic powerful enough to remove his curse as it would take a wish spell due to him being born with it ingrained in him.
Yeah I was going to go Order of the Lycan with this character but wanted to do something a bit different since I just played through a mini campaign as one. Still fits with that theme though as he is a memeber of a bloodhunter order but not trained quite the same way as the rest.
Same thoughts and concerns as well. He is going through a work transition, so that might have taken up more of his time & energy than he expected it to.
Or, just going to put it out there, maybe coming back to a bunch of posts about how he disappeared and airing some of his personal business on a public forum may have been what did it?

Nah, he disappeared before and came back to us talking about him. I asked him about it and he said it felt like he had a fan club.
Fair enough! I don't know him, I just saw this and figured it would be enough to make me nope out. Didn't understand why no one else was seeing it. My apologies for sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong.
No, it's fine. I talked with him a lot in an OoC PM. He'd been big in here Pre-Covid, but left after shit got crazy. After he disappeared the first time, he clarified that he had come back to the site and promptly overclocked himself on duets. He'd try to balance things out, but warned he might have to leave again, maybe for good.
That said, he did promise he'd at least give us a heads up if he did. And yet...
Duet games are always fun. How I first learned to play actually. and I'm sure it works well on pbp too.
Did he disappear on you guys, too?

It's kinda got a Bloodborne taste to it, huh? Nice.

Well, looks like he deleted his account...
Shit, maybe we did break the poor bastard.
Had a fear this would happen when they disappeared...

Well I hope everyone has good luck in finding a new game to join. Perhaps we'll play together in a game in the future.

Sorry to hear that, for all of you. Den can vouch for the fact that I know all about overclocking yourself with game obligations.
It's fine. It's not like there's any shortage of games. From the looks of it, we may be playing together ourselves.
Sadly, that looks pretty unlikely AtM but it's a small community, I'm sure our paths will cross eventually.
Huh. I could've sworn you'd applied in the shadows and light campaign.
