"Did you know Urgon at all?"Camilleasks the guard while Jahn goes inside to investigate.
“No, I never really saw him that much, he was always off exploring Eiselcross. I first saw him just some weeks ago when he came back with the affliction. Sadly, I think his adventuring career became the death of him.” She says.

Frowning down at the equipment, Jahn would pick-up the maul and grappling hook. Jahn would recognize the silvered maul to be very useful in a fight. Putting two-and-two together, Jahn would announce, "Someone forgot to cover their tracks it seems.." and signal to the tracks outside. Jahn would follow the tracks once everyone is done looking.
"I only just found out about him as of his passing. I was sent here to study medical plants and thought maybe he'd caught some kind of disease but..."
He trails off as Jahn headed inside.
"Anyway, no, I didn't know him. I guess I can have a look around though, maybe it'll give us a clue as to what happened."
Investigation: 14
You search through the books on the floor, and you find a folded receipt used as a bookmark. The receipt is dated two months previous, and indicates that Urgon sold several Aeorian items found in Eiselcross to local antique shop Pelc’s Curiosities for 1,000 gp. The items are listed as a dagger, a scroll case, a jade statuette, a quiver of twenty arrows, a silver ring set with a jasper, and two blue glass vials.
OOC: quick question, how long have you guys’ characters been in Palebank village?
Also, if any character in the cabin wants to try to identify what the mount head of a snarling white beast with grey horns hanging on the mantle is, they can make a nature check.

Reading over the note, Doter's eye brow raises at the blue glass vials. Though he's no alchemist, that's a curious peice of laboratory equipment to be included amoung: daggers, statues and rings.
He repeats his findings to the group.
(Also, I think Doter & Ulysse would be fairly recent arrivals. Maybe long enough to get acquainted with the inn they're staying at like a day or two but probably not too much longer.)
Milling about in the cabin, I begin to pick up some of the things that had be strewn over the floor, flipping through the books and other pieces for clues as to what the thief was looking for and whether or not they found it.
Investigation: 9
ETA OOC: Ariakara would've been here only a day or two, having returned to the village to properly thank Urgon for his kindness during her past but finding that he had passed.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ulysse waddle his way around the dwelling and inspects the animal mount
Nature: 4
I agree with the Doter and Ulysse time in town mentioned before.
Hearing someone read the itemized list of sold goods and makes the comment: "1000 gp for ssome adventuring gear? Either he ssold better sstuff then he kept or ssomething iss off about that accounting."
"I did not see any dagger, vials, a statue. I presume those items are with whoever was here before us." Jahn signals to the tracks leading down the road.
"And we should take the recept too. If we find those items, maybe we can return it to the shopkeep in-exchange for the original cost."
Jahn would acknowledge this. Urgon must have been quite the fighter to take this one down. Holding the maul in both hands, realizing this is probably the tool used to slay a monster lime this, they would shoulder the weapon and follow the tracks, hopefully to whoever raided the house.
The guard sees Jahn carrying the maul, and seems to realise that they weren’t carrying it when they went in, because they shout: “Hey! Stop! Did you just steal that maul from Urgon’s cabin?”

"Aye. I agree we should keep the receipt and that it is indeed a large sum for what was exchanged."
Doter notices Ariakara still looking around as Jahn pointed to the tracks and started to follow them out. He turns and says to her, "if yer looking for something specific, I'd hurry. Seems like he's got a solid lead."
He points his thumb over his shoulder towards Jahn outside before nodding to Ulysse as well.
Ok, so, you follow the footprints, which end up leading to Tulgi’s cabin!
This snow-covered cabin looks peaceful and quiet from the outside. Its windows are shuttered, and a steady stream of smoke piping out of the chimney indicates a roaring fire within.
Tulgi Lutan’s home is a one-story, one-room log cabin.

Jahn would halt at the guard noticing. "Huh. I didn't seem to think if it like that in the moment. Just wished to carry his will." He would give the guard the hook and the maul and head to the cabin where the tracks lead. Jahn would approach a possible window to see if they can spot someone inside.
OOC: I would say that you DO know that this is Tulgi’s cabin, since Elro gave you a map of the village with Urgon and Tulgi’s cabins marked on it or something.
After Aria knocks on the door, a gruff female voice calls from the other side, saying “Go away!”

Ulysse will grab the hooded lantern, is there any oil to be had to go with it?
"It sseemss we now know why there iss a guard out front. Just curiouss but did anyone here know the dwarf before his untimely demisse?"
There is no oil for the hooded lantern.
Also, everyone in the cabin make an investigation check. Jahn you too (make another one).

Having only been in Palebank Village for a few days, you guys wouldn’t know anything about Pelc’s Curiosities.
Jahn recognises the mounted head to be a yeti, a monstrosity found in Eiselcross.
