Viktor just listens as he looks down at the bones "Poor woman." he says, his voice soft as he begins looking around for a clean sheet and grabbing the nearest one he can find. He begins to place the bones respectfully into the new sheet "We will make sure you get a proper burial Miss Maggie, Pelor guide her soul with your light out of this place. Give her the rest she deserves and take mercy on her."
The last of the Dusk Elf maidens nods to Viktor's words, sharing the sentiment that permeates them. She is also curious to hear the ghost-children's answer to Lorin's question about their little brother. But in the meantime she continues to try to open the secret passage of the attic, the one that, according to the Doll House, should actually lead to the basement.
If she can find it, Svetlana tries to open it and take a peek... There probably won't be any real threats, before accessing the actual basement, but taking a look won't hurt... Right?
"Papa said Walter went to a better place," Rose says quietly. "We cannot find him."
Svetlana leaves the children's room to try and find the secret door. As she approaches a wall, she notices the outline of a door. Pulling it open reveals a spiral staircase that winds down into darkness. As soon as she leaves the room, Rose cries out.
"No! Don't leave us!" she cries. Svetlana feels something brush at the edges of her mind. Make a Wisdom saving throw!
[[ OOC: I point us just a thing, in case it has been missed... The children's remnants are with Svetlana... She delicately picked up the miserable remains, wrapping each one in a blanket and putting them both in her backpack (see post 237). Do things happen as narrated all the same? ]]
Svetlana tries to fight against the strange sensation in her mind but to no avail. After a moment of struggle, all is calm again, and Svetlana feels completely normal. She doesn't know what just happened.
Svetlana, see this spoiler:
Svetlana has been possessed by the spirit of Rose and gains the following flaw: “I like being in charge and get angry when other people tell me what to do.”
At the same time that Svetlana is struggling silently, the two children disappear from their room as suddenly as they appeared.
The Last of the Dusk Elf maidens feels shaken (though in control of herself) but also amazed... "I'm not leaving you, children..." she murmurs, unsure if they can hear or not "I am taking you with me!"
'Indeed...' the Voices in her head sarcastically comment 'You probably suffered from loneliness, Svetlana, after all there are so few of us here...' 'Are you still so eager to rush to help souls already dead, taking for granted the candor of their souls?' 'They are just scared children!' Svetlana mentally replies, more abruptly than usual 'Don't try to tell me what to do! I am the one in charge! I want to help those two poor children - and that's what I will do!'
"Come on," the savage wanderer calls out to the other party members, a renewed determination in her azure eyes "let's go. The sooner we get this thing sorted out, the better" and she's ready to lead the way down, towards the basement...
