Pequeno looks himself up and down, bows to Zubeki and in a much more humble tone than the party normally hear from him says “thank you, that was very much appreciated.” Upon hearing Vrak’s command to move out he shoulders his backpack and takes his place in the second rank of the party.
Zubeki studies the man and he looks Chultan but that's about it. He is wearing a loincloth and has multiple claw marks and other markings across his back and face.
Zubeki looks the book over real quick and realizes it has some type of ritual in the book but he cannot read the language. It is in an Ancient dialect that hasn't been around for centuries.
Everyone follows Vrak back to the small shrine and you grab the bowl off the altar. You decide to try and move the altar to see if it can be done and with everyone pushing it, you are able to move it.
Zee looks at the altar and smiles. "I bet if I turn into a dinosaur and we somehow rig this altar on some kind of cart device I could pull it while you guys push it. Something to think about. It might take longer that way but I'm sure it can be done. But the whole problem would be where we can sell it. I'm sure no one has that much money to pay for something like that. It would be a shame but I bet we could break it into pieces and just sell off the jade. It would still be a lot of money depending on the size of Jade you are trying to sell."
You make your way outside and Musharib is sitting with his back against the pyramid with a campfire going. He has a stick in his hand and it looks like he is cooking a snake. There is a large pile of snakeskin by his feet as well.
"Welcome back to the living. Are you rich?" Musharib laughs as he takes a bite of the snake before offering the party some. "I saw your friends that you started with run out the door and head back towards the Port. I told them it would be unwise to go by themselves but they didn't listen. I see you got new friends as well."
Pequeno looking at the altar and doing a quick calculation in his head says “I could speak to some of my contacts, I am sure they would know somebody, who might know somebody, who could be interested in a piece of art like this if we can get it back to Port Nyanzaru.”

"The price of that Jade alone is in the tens of thousands of gold, maybe more. If you could find someone to buy it I will get it to Port and we will all live like Kings and Queens the rest of our days." Zee says with a smile.
"I say we smash the evil thing." Vrak said listening to the conversation. Having carried the unconscious man out of the temple he laid him by the fire and gave him the Goodberry that Jolly had given him earlier.
"Destroy it and sell the pieces. The altar has been used for evil and should not be allowed to be used as such again. Whatever its worth is whole it would be easier to get out of this jungle in pieces. I wish I had brought a donkey after all."
Vrak then takes out the dagger from the chest and begins to examine it. He also looks at the bags of money from the chest and divides what is in them evenly to the others.
If the man they saved becomes conscious he will be begin to question (not interrogate) him about who he is, what his story is, what happened inside to him, what he knows of what is going on in the temple, the Yuan-ti, etc...

Whatever its worth is whole it would be easier to get out of this jungle in pieces. I wish I had brought a donkey after all."
Zee nods her head. "I tend to agree with you. It has been used for evil purposes but as a whole, it is worth tens times more then if it is in pieces. But even a head sized chunk could probably get you close to 400 gold. I am fine with whatever you want to do with it. I am sure there are plenty more items in there that will be worth a lot for us all. Not many people have Yuan-Ti artifacts. I bet those drawings and notes you took are worth something as well to a collector."
Having carried the unconscious man out of the temple he laid him by the fire and gave him the Goodberry that Jolly had given him earlier.
After feeding the goodberry to the man his breathing becomes regular and you can tell he is sound asleep and it may be a while before he wakes up.
Vrak then takes out the dagger from the chest and begins to examine it. He also looks at the bags of money from the chest and divides what is in them evenly to the others.
It is a finely crafted blade that is razor sharp. The blade is made out of what looks to be Palladium.
Jolly shakes himself, seeming to snap out of the mild fugue state that came out of the emotional rollercoaster that was the past few minutes. Though he has to bite his lips soon after to shake off the conscious reminder of snake friend's death. When that alone proves not enough, he mutters a prayer in Sylvan that -- if Fae-Sulu notices -- will sound like an apology for his short-sightedness entangled with well wishes for the snake's spirit in its journey 'home'.
Whether it is in approval of the prayer, punishment for the slip up, or some other incidental influence of his own, ten berries grow from the tip of Jolly's staff, leaving the firbolg visibly weakened for a few seconds. He brushes off the weakness, though still sluggishly moves to hand everyone(the party) but Zubeki and Fae-Sulu (who both only get the 1) two berries each.
Trusting the others by now to use them as they see fit, Jolly will give the newcomers a warning not to eat them outside of an emergency. But if Pequeno shows any sign of lingering pain, he'll grimace, and then recommend the halfling eat one now. With that out of the way, he'll turn back to Vrak, warping the staff into the club, and giving the dragonborn a look as if to ask 'I smash later?'
(FYI: For the newcomers that may not already be aware, these are Goodberry that will heal for 4 instead of 1 b/c of one of Jolly's class features.)
And just a reminder/running tally for all, the following should have this many on them after this latest casting.
Vrak - 2 Zubeki - 1(plus 2 from previous casting) Naivara- 2(plus one from previous casting) Jolly- 1(plus one from previous casting) Peq - 2(unless he consumes one now) Fae - 2
Vrak sees Jolly's gesture with the club. Taking a drink of water from his water skin he smiles at him. "I will not stop you, in fact I will help you. But you may have the honors of first strike if you so wish."
Getting up he walks to center of the camp and ensures everyone is within 60 feet of him
"I can sense if any items we have taken have been consecrated or desecrated in anyway. Hold on."
With that he opens his awareness to detect the forces of good and evil within 60 feet.
"Thank you for this gift" Pequeno says to Jolly. "I won't take one now but see how I feel in a little while after a short rest" he finishes with. He then settles down to think quietly about his experiences in the Temple and what he has learnt from it. He makes a checklist in his mind "1. always remember to use your nimbleness, 2. Never run away from support - there is safety in numbers, 3. Buy (or acquire) 2 daggers at the first opportunity."
"What? Hu--o-oh! Nono! This one has made his peace with that when that one did not surrender. This one was doing so for that one-..." Jolly gestures off to the snake's remains, and then lets out a sigh. With that, he'll pass on the berry and move on as earlier mention. And at Vrak's offer he'll grin and for the short rest keep a watch over the entrance for the short rest while awaiting for the group -- for Vrak to determine the next course of actions.

Naivara, now calmed down from her rage, follows everyone out and thanks Jolly for the berries, she eats all three of hers. She sits down feeling the need to rest just a little bit and takes a deep breath. Silently she awaits for Vrak's next plan on what they should do while keeping an eye out, more out of a slight paranoia other reptilian creatures like the Broodguards would come after them. Even with Vrak casting a spell, she remains wary.
As they sit and rest, Fae-Selu plays a relaxing tune on his strings whilst whistling an accompanying tune, that makes everyone feel refreshed and revitalized. (Song of Rest - if you use a hit die, add 6 to your healing total)
Vrak doesn't sense anything specific from the items they have picked up but the whole area reeks of evil. He tells the party what he senses. After the rest he sees the man they saved still sleeping. He goes over and wakes him up so that he can him questions before they return back into the temple.
When he wakes up he will offer him food and water and begin to question (not interrogate) him about who he is, what his story is, what happened inside to him, what he knows of what is going on in the temple, the Yuan-ti, etc...
Seeing Vrak examine the dagger in detail, Pequeno says "Vrak if you don't need or want that dagger I could find a use for it!"He finishes with "but if you have plans for it that's fine by me."
After a gentle nudging by Vrak the man wakes up and looks panicked for a moment before realizing he's safe. With a deep sigh he relaxs and takes the offered food and drink.
After a few minutes he begins speaking. "My name is Emporo Atazi, I come from a small village not to far from here. One night we were raided by a group of Ras Nsi followers. We knew it was his people by the blue triangle tattoos they have on their foreheads."
The man takes a sip of water before continuing, " They brought nine of us to this place and tortured us for days. The high priest, a man named Oboko started doing dark ritual magic and forced five of my tribesmen to drink some kind of vile pinkish liquid and within a few days those same tribesmen turned into some kind of creature under the control of Oboko."
He describes the Broodguards.
"I was supposed to be next so they were bringing me down here to await the ritual."
He begins to throw up, wipes his mouth and continues, " I've only been to the second level of this pyramid, Oboko answers to a creature that has the head of a snake and the body of a man. I've heard them talk about this place becoming the new breeding grounds of those creatures for Ras Nsi's new army."
As Vrak examined the dagger he hands it to Peq. "If you have need of it, please take it."
Vrak was deeply troubled by the words of the man. "There must be at least 4 more of these creatures you speak of. But we have four vials of the pink liquid which may have been for the others. We were hard pressed to defeat the one creature we faced. But yet we must try to save the other's and rid this place its evil. If this is what is happening here then we must stop it."
Looking at Zubeki "You must destroy those vials you found in the chest. They cannot be used by others or found. Its good thing you didn't drink any of it."
Turning to the others. "And the altar will be destroyed. And the mirror also perhaps. I faced the man with the serpent head when I looked in the mirror. But none of you saw him so he is not here, he is elsewhere and the mirror somehow brought us together. That must be how this high priest is communicating with him. And we now have his spell book. Hopefully he cannot continue this ritual any longer. But we must make sure he cannot."
Vrak then looks at Emporo Atazi "You are sure you never drank this pink liquid you speak of?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Thank you Vrak, rest assured I will take good care of it" Pequeno says as he carefully takes the dagger. He examines it very carefully and is particularly careful of its obviously sharp edges. He is examining it for any runes or other sigils that might indicate it is more than just a well crafted dagger.
