Vrak takes the offered contract and reads it over.
"I just have a couple of questions regarding the contract. We offered to assist Zee in investigating a ruin she found. It is 3 days from here. Can we do that first or must we aid you first? When we get the Gauntlet and reclaim your home can we continue to pay you as a guide instead of being brought back to the Port?"
"As of Zee's quest. That is fine and we can do that first. As long as you help me do what is on that contract anything else you decide to do is fine. But before we part ways my contract must be fulfilled. As for paying me after we achieve my goals? I am afraid not. We will have to come back to Port."
Musharib looks left and right and lowers his voice. "But if we happen to make pit stops along the way I wouldn't mind but you will need to pay me for any time that we take outside of coming straight back. The cost is the standard five gold a day. I would give you some leeway on that of course. Unless you want me to add it in the contract that you have the option of hiring me after the quest is over. I would have to make a new one of course."
I'd have to look at a map but offhand, this is how it would work. However many days it would take to go in a straight line from his homeland to Port is what is free if you make pitstops any days over the straight path amount would cost you five gold a day. so if it was 19 days from his home to Port and it took you 25 days because of 'pitstops' it would cost you 30 gold.
Naivara watches everything happen in silence and then slowly looks at Zubeki as he speaks. She folds her arms across her chest listening to him and then hums. "I am sure everyone can get their own salves or sprays, though I believe rations and waterskins should have gold divided evenly as we may be paying for quite a bit of each." She then tilts her head slightly. "And a canoe would be nice, but with a guide there are seven of us. Musharib just old us it holds 6 people max., perhaps there is a way to make it work though." She points out, tapping her chin.
She looks at every one else, watching for their reactions and listening to any other ideas they come up with.
Without much consideration, Tyrgram takes the pen and with a flourish puts his signature on the paper. It looks a bit scribblish, Tyrgram is no great calligrapher, but it serves its purpose.
"So we've got the how figured out, now we need to get the what." He says with confidence. "Rain catchers and insect salve, right?" He looks around at the others. "I don't think a canoe is that essential if we're not following a river. And I could fish and forage if push comes to shove. I used to be good at it before..." His voice trails off. "Anyway," he piques up, "seems like the Red Bazaar is our next stop, no?"
EDIT: using phone for the weekend so can't do colour coding :(
Zubeki looks down and places his hand on his chin, thinking pensively. "And at last, if anyone has any letters they want to send back home or those who want some time tonight for solidarity to pray, study, sharpen a blade, or tune a... flute, then we should finish collecting our inventory quickly so we'll have that free time. Musharib, do you know if Port has a place where mages and wizards collect? I might need to pick up a few rare supplies."
Musharib looks over at Zubeki, "You would go to Wakanga O’tamu for that. He deals in magic and lore and those special ingredients that arcane users may need for their spellcasting."
She then tilts her head slightly. "And a canoe would be nice, but with a guide there are seven of us. Musharib just old us it holds 6 people max., perhaps there is a way to make it work though." She points out, tapping her chin.
"Well, you can buy two canoes, a barge or walk. Those are your three options. If you plan on having any carts or beasts of burden then you have no choice but to walk. They wouldn't fit on a canoe or barge."
Much like Naivara, though somewhat sullen after the whole exchange with the guys back at the bar, Jolly silently watched in silence, offering little beyond a nod in agreement to making Vrak leader. That, and of course immediately signing the contract if a writing utensil is offered with it. Hearing Tyrgram's voice trail off, Jolly lofts a brow and gives a questioning look, but won't press the point in the immediate moment.
"This one can carry a great deal. One Canoe at least will be no problem... But will also remind, that final decisions is up to leader, no?" He reprimands the group lightly with a half smile, and then look to Vrak. "With your permission, one called Vrak, this one wishes to abstain from gold split at this time, but will promise to handle rations and excess water for group in exchange. Like one called Zubeki, there are personal items that this one 'must' set out with, and a friend back at the prison that this one wishes to see freed, if at all possible." Jolly requests, voice tinging on the subdued near the end. "This one would otherwise accompany the Zubeki to speak with Wakanga, but will join in this 'Red Bazaar' as soon as possible, if not... uhm... Huh... This one just realized that he does not know where folk besides the Zubeki have been staying. Are we to meet back here at end of night?"

"Ok Musharib, we'll sign your contract. And I can be your contact person for the group. That will keep it simple. Any other supplies you recommend? We'll hold off on the canoes or barge at this time. Zee says 3 days travel to assist her. That sounds like an over land trip. We'll do that then come back to Port, resupply and head out again. We'll decide travel arrangements at that time."
Vrak looks at the group.
"At this point I say you are on your own to get supplies that you need. Just remember to get enough to keep yourself alive for several days. There won't be much to forage in the ruins. And also if we need to buy a barge we'll need to chip in together for that. Hopefully Zee's job will help fund that. Meet back here later. We leave inthe morning. Feel free to plan together to carry stuff. "
Musharib shakes his head. "I told you the supplies you absolutely need. Anything else is just preference. I will be here in the morning for you guys when you are ready to head out."
Zubeki smiles and hunches over the contract, scribing his name with many flourishes and wide loops. "Jolly, if you want to tag along, I will head to Wakanga's shop now and then we can meet the rest of you in the Red Bazaar. Spend wisely and try not to weigh yourself down with unnecessary items. Farwell for now." With that, Zubeki bows and turns around, his coat fluttering lightly. He bursts out of Kaya's into the busy streets and scans the local shop signs.
He quickly pops his head back into Kaya's and shouts "Does anyone know where Wakanga's shop is? Is it at his house or..."

"Go up the block until you hit the second intersection then make a right and go up 2 blocks until you come to another intersection. Make a left and it is the 2nd building on the left."
After seeing to the contract's signing, Jolly will give Zubeki a curt nod, though linger behind for at least a minute for any last word from the others. Soon after, he would find himself leaving the establishment chuckling at the wizard's last minute inquiry. Once they duo are outside and properly on their journey, Jolly spends at least the first few minutes into the walk soaking in the afternoon livelihood and greeting the occasional being along the way (especially any dinosaurs).
"So, have you noticed the way other the little one called Tyrgram looks at leader Vrak?" He asks off-handedly. "And the horned one is so friendly! This one feels bad now for think him to be one of the Unseelie."

After seeing the two magic users walk out the door, Tyrgram turns to the three others remaining.
'Guess we'll go buy the mundane stuff at this Red Bazaar.' He says in a chipper voice, the prospect of exploring the markets of Port Nyanzaru exciting him quite a bit. With a jolly spring in his step, he makes his way over to the door and out into the streets.
'First up: insect salve.' he mumbles to himself after he swats an insect that had landed on his arm.
No one knows how the Red Bazaar got its name. One story is that the label comes from the huge slabs of dinosaur meat sold here and the resulting buckets of blood that stain the rain-washed gutters, and that’s probably as good an explanation as any.
The residents of Port Nyanzaru shop for their daily needs at the Red Bazaar. Unlike the Grand Souk, which deals heavily in durable goods and luxury items, the Red Bazaar deals in everyday needs: locally produced meat, vegetables, tropical fruit, tej, light tropical clothing, insect repellent, rain catchers, and other household goods. The buyers and sellers in the Red Bazaar are predominantly locals.
At this hour it isn't as busy as it usually would be due to the fact that the gladiator games are going on so you have the whole bazaar to yourself almost. There are still people shopping but not nearly as much as you would find before noon time or after 2 pm.
After going through the Bazaar you are able to find what you are looking for easily enough and make all your purchases, it does take you almost an hour and a half though but you get it all done.
Meanwhile at Wakanga's Shop
You follow the directions given to you and find Wakanga's nestled between two other stores, one that sells fabrics and another that sells different types of 'exoctic' meats from the jungle.
Wakanga is inside the shop and smiles as you enter. "Ah, it is good to see you again my friends, how has your morning been going in my fine city?"
All around the shop you see glass cases filled with scrolls and broken down into different sections. One section says divinve, another Arcane, and another nature, and so on. You figure out these are cases for each of the types of adventurers in the shop. There are also cabinets filled with potions of different varieties all around the store.
Wakanga is standing behind a glass counter with many potions and scrolls inside on display.
As for your regular shopping. You can just buy what you want, make a post saying what you bought and how much you spent. Add it to your sheets and subtract the cash. Prices are standard PHB prices. If you wish to look for something different then rp it out.
Jolly goes from wide-eyed and gawking to smiling broadly and toothily seeing Wakanga. Knowing Zubeki as well as he did however, the firbolg will leave the vocal half of the greeting to the wizard, whereas he will just bow partway at the waist. Then, while the wizard and prince are conversing, his attention will drift to the nearby glass cases. What starts as only passing interest turns into more active search upon seeing the scrolls on nature.
"Hmm~ You possess quite an impressive collection, dear friend. But might this one ask as to what circle of power do they end?"He asks during a pause in conversation.

She looks at everyone and watches them all. Once everyone decided to go shopping she follows Tyrgram out to go to the Red Bazaar. Once there she immediately focuses on getting the salve, extra rations and extra waterskins to store more water on her person.

Tyrgram makes a beeline towards the merchant who is selling the insect salve. 'Aha, no more getting bitten or stung for me!' He laughs as he buys three blocks of insect salve and donates the money into the open hand of the merchant.
At the next stall, things get a bit emotional as Tyrgram casts a sorrowful look at the armour he did his best to scrape together. But with the words of their newly hired guide ringing in his ears, he knows the heavy scales would be more trouble than their worth out there in the jungle. Slowly, almost ritually even, he unties and unbuckles every part of his green and brown armour. One last glance at the image he tried to paint on it in times past and he, with a barely audible sniffle, hands it over to the armour merchant to trade in for a piece of studded leather. Thankfully, his scale mail is a little bit more worth than the leather so with the change he gets, he moves on over to buy some rations for the trip ahead.

Taking the opportunity during the shopping spree to get to know their new team member a bit better, Tyrgram serendipitously walks up next to Naivara. 'So how did a lady like you come to swing an axe that big?' He asks with a sort of childlike naivety and wonder.
Jolly looks askance at the declaration, and then looks back and nods. "Life itself more so than just nature itself, if this one is to be honest. Ask me that a few decades ago however, and then show me this place, this one... might've sought its destruction." He'll admit nonchalantly as he goes to look back at the scroll. "So! How much then for one of each? Or does this prince scale things a bit differently?"

"Well my friend, for the beginner scrolls, you know for people just starting to dabble in magic(1st level) and such, it will cost you 100 gold pieces each. For the tougher spell scrolls (2nd level) it will cost you 550 gold. Now you might think that is a lot and I welcome you to find them anywhere else on Chult but you will not. I do not haggle at my store. I run a business not a charity. Potions of healing will run you 80 gold and uncommon potions will run you 300 gold."
