The ambushers are all dead. You find 9 sets of plate armour of fine quality (worth a shitload of coin but hard to transport). A bunch of you recognise the lead knight from wanted posters you saw while in Neverwinter. He is Sir Bluto Sans Pite and is wanted for the River of Blood mass-murder, dead or alive. The reward is 10,000gp.
Dave/Thar will probably not be posting for about the next month. I am going on holidays tomorrow, travelling to the US and Canada, and likely will have limited chance to check in on the game.
Back in the first week of September and hopefully Thar will still be alive.
"I would rather like the cloak too," states Gijugume.
"Damn!" Arya mutters. "Okay, how about we dice to see who wears it now and then it goes back into the treasure pile for the final split after we finish this place."
Roll d6 Arya 2
DM: Arya really wants to cheat here but she won't, but she could. Sleight of Hand24
Arya hands the cloak to Gijigume, somehow it seems to be stuck to her hand and he has to give a solid pull before she lets go. (Character sheet updated) Also Gijigume is wounded so you need to spend some dice during the short rest.
You are looking out and down into an enormous chamber defined by terraced steps that ring the entire area and descend toward a central enclosure.
A few feet south of the door, water laps at the edge of the stone floor. Looking to the side, you can see that the ring of the terrace that lies beyond is a ten-foot-deep ring of water held in by a nearly transparent wall. Another of these watery steps in the terrace is somewhat lower than the first; at the level in between these aquariums, the terrace steps are dry, but the area is still enclosed by a glassy wall like the others.
Arya does her trick to see through Owly’s eyes. The bird circles the entire area then flies back to the group. “There are manticores in the bottom section. Also there is a door on the south wall of the bottom area. In the different tiers there are different critters, giant crayfish, giant scorpions and sea lions.”
"Unless we fly down, I think my new cloak is about to come into action," says Gijigume. "If I go into the water I will presumably be attacked: Hopefully the critters will be close enough for you others to attack them too."

Searching the bodies you find a key and Cloak of the Manta Ray
Fah'lin suggests a rest before continuing. He'll look for some identifying item to prove Bluto's identity and defeat.

Arya "His head. He's an ugly sort and no one will mistake that (or his house signet ring if you're squeamish). I wan't the cloak, any objections?"
Aeliarin uses a spell slot for his MM.
You take a short rest. Arya spends 2 dice for 10 hit points recovered plus a potion of healing 6
"No objections from me for the cloak."
Fahlin is burning spell slots like no ones business, his greatest weakness, I'm going to refrain from using the Blessing for awhile.

Thar has no objection to Arya having the cloak.

Gijigume and Igneous are both wounded so let's assume they spend some dice during the short rest.
You now have a key for that locked door, probably.

"Thank you," says Gijigume, taking the cloak. "Don't worry, you may yet end up with it." He then takes his second wind.
OOC: Second wind to regain 15 then regain it during short rest.
Arya takes the key and opens the door to reveal:

Can the party see what's in the bottom (may need a fly-by by Owly). Are there any other exits?
