K feeds Ash a healing potion (+5 hp). "Get up, little buddy. Go wake Badger." He hands Ash another healing potion. He then starts yelling and whooping to get the trees' attention. He tries to lure them away from the square, using his speed and dashing, keeping them focused on him and leading them back out towards the farms.
Kristofferson: make a performance check to see how well you can goad the trees into following you. You have advantage as they are already not happy with you.
Ash finds a quiet space, leans back against the wall, and slides into a seated position. "There's nothing we can do for these trees. We have a bigger task at hand, and I need to rest."
Badger looks frustrated, but relents, sitting on a nearby chair.
During the rest you hear the destruction and screams abate as the trees move east and south.
At the end of your rest, as you gear up, a young, pretty human female dressed in browns and greens with a vine necklace and a flower in her hair peeks in the room. "More survivors hiding in here! What happened out there!? There are dead bodies everywhere! The town is in ruin!" You recognize her as Loranna, Joramir's friend.
Badger uses 3 hit dice. "Animated pines. They were too much for us. How can we help rebuild?"
Ash uses 3 hit dice. "We should find Derbrun."
Kristofferson uses 3 hit dice. "We are the Quote Unquote Fantastic, but we were bested by the trees and are lucky to be alive. We are on a mission, m'lady. Do you know the mage Derbrun or his whereabouts?"

The dwarf woman, looking half-dead, drags herself into the square, sees her son, screams, and is killed by a tree.
The other trees smash property.

Ash whimpers, feeling the desperation and doom, searches Badger for his potion of healing and feeds it to him (+9 HP)

You can't find Derbrun. He must have run off in the mayhem.
