Isa replies; "Honey, its just how it happens. One wizard says it was necromancy as they leave town; then some town gossip..." She motions to herself. "...tells everyone, and now the whole town is concerned about necromancy. That's just the way it happens."
Nathan is visibly taken aback by what Shalech has told him: "Gods, those scars... I have never seen anything like those before. I am so sorry you had to go through this, this is definitely not how magic should be used. I am sure Dar agrees, he is known to be against necromancy and even illusions, they had some disagreements in this regard with Thasiramus. Do you have any idea why Kyristan did this and what happened to him? As for his apprentices, he must have used some strong magic to bind them." Then Nathan turns to Jack and Victor: "What is this haunted house that you are talking about? Does Dar know about it?"
Nathan tries to remember whether he has heard anything about Kyristan:

Nathan tries to remember whether he has heard anything about Kyristan:
History: [roll]1d20+5[/roll
With a haunted look to his eyes, Shalech elaborates, "Kyristan tried... no succeeded in ripping out a connection I had with a divine being. In the void left, he placed some form of corruption, some form of shadow. Since then I've been able to cast spells when I never could before. Once this was completed, I was freed and given orders as if I had no free will of my own. I eventually killed who I thought was Kyristan to free myself from captivity, but Dar assures me Kyristan is not who I killed. So that is what Kyristan did, to my knowledge. But I don't know why, or if I'm even safe from his procedure. I luckily found Kyristan's research which includes very clear illustrations of me, but the research is encrypted and no one can read it, not even Dar or Han. So I don't yet know why Kyristan did this to me."
Nathan asks Shalech: "Did Master Dar ever try to go after Kyristan? Or did they expel him from the guild and were just happy that he disappear? I mean hearing what he is capable of he sounds like a very dangerous person. We should find out as much about him as possible." Nathan seems really upset about what he has learned. He came from a relatively peaceful town, and while he has seen many people die and fought bandits and other threats before, the evil of experimenting on live people is something that he has difficulty coming to terms with.
Croak had been listening politely if not intently to Isa's conversation and noticed her stammer just before mentioning the haunted house. Waiting patiently to add his question to the conversation "Haunted houses are things of bed time stories and harvest celebrations. How have you come to believe that this house is haunted and I would like to here more 'bout what the hell's been goin on."
It's okay little one; towns don't stay the same size forever. Heck, the Wizards Guild wasn't always here; and The Clansman is over a hundred years older than the guild. This town was here as a fishing village for generations before a wizard set foot here." Isa says, consoling Urselles.
She then responds to Croak's query; "You'd be able to see and hear why for yourself in about an hour; the sun is likely already setting." At hearing this you suddenly realize that there are no windows in here.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Theodore replying to Nathan and Shalech "Something seems to very strange here... a moment in private gentlemen if you will." Theodore leads the two to a quieter area away from the other guests. Perception check to see if anyone else is listening 14
Theodore, Nathan, and Shalech move near the door that is believed to lead down to some form of basement. Theodore gives a quick look around and keeps a keen ear to make sure noone is listening in.
It looks clear at first; with Croak and Urselles speaking with Isa, Joran and Han drinking, and Jack and Victor informing Dar about Thasiramus' apprentice, as he descends the stairs. Then you hear a strange sound, like something shifting under the couch that Croak is sitting on.
You look back and then doubletake as you notice something that is so out of place that you honestly didn't believe it at first, but there it is. There is a foot sticking slightly out from under the couch. A moment later it slides back under and is hidden from view once more.

Before being pulled away by Theodore, Shalech replies, "All I know is Dar believes Kyristan isn't dead, and he's magically fortified his tower specifically to avoid retribution from those that were loyal to Kyristan."
The hairs on Croak's neck stand on end. To Isa "I would very much like to watch this house as the events unfold...from the onset. May I excuse myself a moment while change out of this dingy traveling cloak? I would like to make moves toward the house, I've had my fill of food and drink and thank my hosts graciously. I've no interest in necromancers, but a haunted house?! That draws my attention."
Croak gives a toothy smile as he stands and shoulders his pack, leaving his empty plate where it lie.

Sorry, so the roll once again: 11
Nathan, you think you may have heard the name in passing, possibly as a wizard of the guild, but he was never significant to any story.
With a haunted look to his eyes, Shalech elaborates, "Kyristan tried... no succeeded in ripping out a connection I had with a divine being. “I know but, it’s stupid, they kept this town up and, the second they’re gone they’re reputation goes down the toilet”

Jack and Victor simply shrug in response to what Dar knows about the haunted house.
Isa replies. "The guild disbanding is why the town died, its understandable that they would demonize the wizards for that."
Ill play
(Describe your character and what they are doing. The group is currently in a wizard's tower, but you can appear anywhere in or around town.)

"Um, sure." Says Isa. "Its the only house between here and the tavern; basically next door."
