Witnessing Powell's uneasiness Croak smirks and says to his companions "Like I said, something doesnt add up. But tell me, any word on that disturbance at the Tower this morning? And what about Nine-Fingers? I'm about ready for our march into the wilderness, Shalech do we need to meet a guide? I have a few questions pertaining to last night's findings..." At that Theodore and Nathan walk in. "Gentleman Welcome! Right on time of course! Any insight from master Dar? Urselles, any report of missing jewels at the church?"
"Oh yes, there are plenty of things I want to talk to you about." he looks at the human with orcish traits behind the counter, and remembers that this is who Fluffy saw behind the counter when Nine-Fingers was here, and continues in a hushed voice "But I would prefer to discuss it somewhere more private. Is everybody here? Maybe we could go to the haunted house that according to Dar used to belong to an old perverted wizard named Arthur. Dar promised to come over and destroy the illusion there, maybe by that time he will know more."
If everybody is there and they are at a safer place (or he is sure that nobody is listening in on their conversation at the inn), Nathan will tell the others what happened: "Oh gods, I will try to cut it as short as I can." he starts talking really quickly "First of all, I talked to Dar last night and found out about this Arthur. Also, he told me that there is no sherriff in town, only the priests and the mayor, in case we want to return the jewels, which he beleves must have been stolen someone other than Tamm. Also, I had Fluffy the owl, my familiar, follow Nine-Fingers last night. She did not actually see him breaking into houses, but he did disappear a few times in the shadows. Maybe we could ask the owners if anything went missing, I find this Nine-Fingers very suspicious. Surprisingly I did not wake up when Fluffy tried to contact me, this might have been because of a weird dream that I had. I only woke up to the explosion that took place when Isa tried to enter Dar's tower and she triggered the defenses - luckily she is safe and must be completely healed by now. She was absolutely terrified because she believes that a ghost who calls himself the 'Ghost Prince' told her that she has to enter the service of the 'Lich King' or else she will die in three days. Well, as far as I know ghosts don't tend to behave this way, but Dar and Han promised to look after this, while they asked Theodore and myself to help Isa." He said this monolouge almost with one breath. He looks a bit scared, but really excited about all the interesting things that are going on here and mysteries that have to be uncovered. "Well, I think this is it, I hope I didn't leave out anything important? he asks as he looks at Theodore.
As Croak listens to Shalech's story, he is keeping an eye on the bartender. Checking to see if he does a double take or lets his eyesight linger too long at Croak.
Perception:18
"Well I'm sure to scare the pants off of any hermit. Maybe that will work to our advantage, maybe not. Thanks to a cruel father, I know some interesting ways of...gaining compliance should he not want to talk"
Croak turns his gaze directly toward the bartender while still speaking to Shalech and Urselles, "You may have noticed, but there is human in my blood. How that happens is a typically ugly affair. I have no real knowledge of my early years but I was told that I was found in the woods as an infant. I was raised and educated by my adoptive mother who thought I was pure orc. A diviner visited my family and told my parents of my mixed nature, after that they seemed to be more accepting of me and trained me to fight. The story still doesn't add up so I came in search of a diviner myself. That's when I met you lot then last night, I dreamed that an orc was tending here at the Clansmen." gesturing to the barman, "and lo, orcish blood."
Croak clears his throat, "Bartender I'll have a platter and ale, say what is your name?"
As Shalech forces down his 'pie', he explains, "I'm afraid he's not going to be just 'a Hermit'. He was a wizard's apprentice, and remained loyal even though he knew his master experimented on humans.
As for your heritage, if it can't come back and haunt you, I'd advise to just live your life. Knowing wont change your options. Take it from me, I wish my past was behind me and not a threat, so I could just live my life.
As for Joran, Dar said he shows up around noon. He'll guide us directly to the hermit. I'm also hoping Dar will come through and send some more help our way."
Nathan turns to the others: "I will gladly join you guys, provided we will be back before nightfall, because we promised to help Isa. Also, if you want to, we would appreciate any help with sorting out this ghost business after we get back - of course only if you feel like it."
Sathalvir strolls up to the horse the boy is tending. He examines the equine's qualities, admiring the way the horse allow itself to be handled. "How long have you known the horse?" he asks, in the hope the boy can stand on his two feet without pretending to be bigger and more heroic than he should be.
Sathalvir and the young stable owner (who's name alludes me at the moment) stay up late talking details about the horses and stables. You can see that this young man has a deep passion for his job; which likely is part of why he owns the stables at such a young age.
You find that he knows each horse, what they prefer to eat, and how to tend each of them. Glad to share the love of horses with another; he lets you rest for the night in one of the bunks upstairs in the stable.
In the morning you wake and stretch, pleased by the good night sleep. As you climb down, you recognize a number of the adventurers from last night at the wizard's tower, as they enter the tavern.
(Just bringing you to the appropriate time and day, if that's okay.)
"Fair well," Sathalvir says to the boy with the old soul. "I thank you for the hospitality. Any advice you might have for someone unfamiliar with the town?" After the boy answers, he bows respectfully, and makes his way to the tavern.
"I'll be sure to keep the name Kitta in mind." Strange town, Sathalvir thinks privately.
The tavern then! He keeps his eyes open and ears tuned to sounds of the village, the movements of the villagers as they conduct their lives. "Strange folks here," he mutters. "Strange folk deserve a cautious approach."
As Sathalvir enters the tavern, you immediately smell old stale beer, poor food, and rowdy customers; though the average age of those customers is old, with near noone under 40.
The group of adventurers are in a booth in the corner, talking among themselves. The tall gray skinned man is instantly noticeable; his massive frame taking up most of the booth seat. The Goblin in white robes also stands out. The rest look like typical human adventurers. The barkeep is a large man with a very square face; almost Orc like.

"I'm fed. ready to go?"

Shalech takes a deep sigh, then says, "Best to get started so it can be over with."

The boy's reply to Sathalvir is simply; "Leave before someone scams you. And beware of Kitta; she is a danger of a whole nother kind."
"I'll be sure to keep the name Kitta in mind." Strange town, Sathalvir thinks privately.

(Realized that I don't remember what most of you look like, lol.)
"Any luck with the thief," Sathalvir asks as he approaches the group.
While looking at Sathalvir and wondering if Dar sent him to help, Shalech asks, "Which one? Tamm or Nine Fingers?"
