"Oh, so you are awake. Well, I remember Urselles, the goblin on that boat over there, taking these from that house everyone said was haunted. The same house from where we saw you the first time, when I had to chase your arse because you ran.
Now here you are, with that same sack of jewelry. And there's Urselles over there with those other people. That's an awfully huge coincidence. What's your explanation?"
"You're a bad liar John. Lie if you want, we'll find a spell from someone that will compel you to tell the truth. Or Urselles and those people will confirm your story and you'll be free to go. I have no place to be, so we'll wait right here for them."

In an amazing maneuver, Croak leaps off the dock, grabbing the thrown rope and diving into the flowing river. All eyes are on the water surface; hoping for the best.
Croak, a flurry of bubbles pass your eyes before you can begin searching for the dwarf. You look first beneath where the boat is anchored; and are surprised to see the blacksmith clinging to the anchor's chain. No, not just clinging to it; but climbing it.
You move to him with ease, place your long arm around his stout form, and climb with him to the water's surface. Once there you call out to Normand and Urselles; who aid you both as best they can, until Nathan and Theodore grants additional aid from the dock.
A smile sits on Shalech's face, until he hears John call out in reply; "No we won't!" Suddenly he is struggling to get free. (Make an Acrobatics or Athletics Check Vs 22 )
Shalech decides not to contest against the struggling and stands up. "Don't do it John. You can't run from me. If you try, I'll lash you and pull you back."

If John tries to run, when he gets 15 feet away I'll cast Lightning Lure (DC 13 STR save) and on a hit will drag him back 10 feet. Damage if it hits: 1
Breaking the water's surface Croak orients himself toward the dock, giving the dwarf the rope and assisting him the whole time. Once close to the dock Croak lifts himself out of the water then offers his hand to the man he may have just saved. "Name's Croak. saw the whole thing unfold from down the road. Are you well?" He smacks the dwarf on the back while listening for a response.

"If that's what you gotta do..." A blade flies towards your face! ( Nine Finger John's Attack 20 Damage 8 ) You experience pain and blood, as the sword slices deep across your face and neck; clean to the jawbone. Before he could react, Shalech watches as John charges towards the stables at incredible speed; leaping from barrel to roof in mere moments.
(Roll for Initiative)
As Croak smiles at his moment of success; his look turns to horror and anger as he sees Shalech get slashed with a sword. The rest were too absorbed in the dwarf incident to notice.
The dwarf replies to Croak; "Quite well, thanks to you; the name's Klandar." He grabs and shakes your hand, then looks up to your face and asks; "Is something wrong?"
The sound of lightning catches everyone's attention.
( Normand's Initiative 2
Klandar's Initiative 3
Theodore and Nathan are away so I will roll Initiative for them. Sadly, I don't have a character sheet for either of them so I will go with a base d20 roll
(A low DC Dex Save, Athletics, or Acrobatics Check would be needed to bridge the gap. This roll is unnecessary if another character aids you in getting off the boat.)
"I didn't steal these from anyone; much less from whoever Ursel is." John grunts from under you. (Make an Wisdom (Insight) check.)

"No, they are mine. I've had them this entire time." Turns out that Nine Finger John is a bad liar.

Croak attempts to jump off the dock and catch the rope in one swift motion, fearing too much time has passed as it is.
