Yakeerk lands on the ground near the bodies. He picks up the fallen lantern to stop the oil spilling out and setting fire to the nearby wooden building. The owlin realises with his black feathers he would be nearly invisible in the moonless night and so stays near the light so the others can see him clearly. He has his bow ready but no arrow nocked. He looks at the others and thinks he might break the ice, hoping he has read the situation correctly. He speaks in his formal tone.
"I am Yakeerk, of the marine contingent of Saltmarsh. I saw a murder about to happen, so I thought I might intervene. If I judged this right, you all did too. And you," he turns towards Susk, "were the intended victim."
Approaching the bodies on the floor Irob responds to the owlin as his gears, bright for a brief moment, begin to dim again.
"I calculated that their actions were created of malicious intent based on a 3:1 ratio. Perhaps they should have observed the surrounds to see that it was in reality 3:6." "This is their fault for miscalculating." He states, gesturing to the growing pool of blood at his feet.
Looking towards Susk he asks "Are you in need of further aid?"
Yga {Eega} Uberfrugal, a willowy gnome, introduces herself while offhandedly returns to prying a copper piece wedged between the cobblestones.
"Greetings and salutations from Yga! Come and see Saltmarsh the High Priest said, it'll be character building! I was just on my way to see my brethren and sistren of Kord when I spot these juicy coppers just waiting to be put to good use, and this kerfuffle kicks off."
Confident he is not in danger from the newcomers, Susk turns his attention to the bodies in front of him, his brow furrowed as he wonders how they knew he was coming.
"My thanks for your aid, the odds definately were not in my favour" he says cheerily, as he kneels by the body of the ruffian who appeared in front of him. He quicly searches for anything of value or that may identify them. "Not always a good idea to travel alone at night, I was just on my way to the tavern there to meet a business associate."
" I wonder what this means" as he holds up the medallion found.
"Perhaps we could discuss it somewhere more private," Rask wiped the bloodied maul on the cloak of the nearest robed figure and inspected it as she spoke. "Three bodies, a dragonborn, an owlin and a metal man might not go down too well with the folks around here."
Yga sidles over to Susk and looks at the medallion to see if she recognizes the symbol as belonging to any religious orders...
Yga does not recognise the eye symbol. Therefore not a mainstream religion or organisation. Maybe a new one or one that does not wish to be known. She thinks it likely to be more religious - if it were an organisation they would likely not wear such an identifying symbol. But spirituality often makes one keep such an item close, believing in its power. Yga knows this mindset well.

If you didn't want to go to a tavern or inn - Yakeerk thinks The Snapping Line might be a good one - then adjourning to a room in one of the temples could be an option. No worshippers there at that time of night, and both Yga or Zaerra have access.

"My flesh may be metal however I am much more. Please refrain from calling me as such. You can call me Irob (ee-rob)." He pauses slightly before continuing "I concur that a discussion of events is due. These circumstances are strange indeed"
"You may step inside my building, if you wish to confer away from prying eyes and ears," says a new voice. The group turn to see a tiefling with red skin and horns, standing on the verandah of the building next to which the robed bodies now lay. Her voice is deeper than you would expect, but it is still feminine.
Yakeerk knows her to be Captain Xendros, the Trademaster of a permanent trade delegation now resident in Saltmarsh. She oversees trade - mostly salted fish - between Saltmarsh and her home country, far to the north.
Susk stiffens slightly as the new voice joins the conversation. Too many complications in what should have been a simple handover. While he appreciated the newcomers aiding him definitely saved him from injury, if not death, his contract to deliver needed to be honoured.
“While I appreciate the assistance in dealing with these men, as I said I am obligated to a meeting in the Empty Net, and this delay may not sit favourable for me. I will, however, take this with me,” nodding toward the medallion “and perhaps my associate may be able to shed some light on it. I will meet you back here with any information I may receive.”

Zaerra (Zay-era) is startled by the voice, she isn't used to people sneaking up on her. She looks around at the others and says, "Oh please to meet you, I am Zaerra Ento. Who do I have have the pleasure of being startled by?" She turns to the tiefling, bowing her head in greeting. "If my companions have no issues, I believe your offer is good to be taken up."
In the Empty Net, Susk finds Mr Porter who regards him with his customary cool demeanor. Mr Porter does not ask any questions. Unless Susk wants to mention anything, the exchange is made and Susk may depart with 50gp he didn't have before.
Irob begins cleaning the scene with prestidigitation as he answers the tiefling, "Perhaps these three men will not be missed if their bodies were to simply disappear... You would offer us shelter despite the three dead men on your doorstep? Your motives are perplexing, however given the circumstances I'm inclined to take your offer. What do you know of these men and their motives?"
"I apologise, Irob. I also know what it is to be dismissed as less that I am". Rask turns to Captain Xendros. "I am also confused as to why you would help us, however you look like someone who is well aware of the goings on in Saltmarsh. Do you know these men?"
Captain Xendros, turns and calls out to someone inside, in a harsh tongue. Shortly three men exit, pale skinned and bearded, dressed in simple clothes. Captain Xendros talks to them more and they all nod and one brings out a canvas tarpaulin to cover the bodies and another goes off into the night. The third gets a bucket of water and a mop.
Captain Xendros nods in satisfaction and turns to you again.
"I will explain my interest and answer your questions inside," she once again gestures to the open door.
Yga nervously surveys the unsettling turn of events and creatures, and clutches her holy symbol of Kord, secreting it beneath her robes before entering the building cautiously.
In a flurry of spells and blows, the third robed figure hits the ground with a thud.
The lapping waves and muted sounds of the patrons of the Empty Net become the dominant sounds of the night.

"Captain Xendros, at your service," the tiefling does a half-bow. She gestures to her door. "Enter, if it pleases you."
Her eyes track Susk departing as the sea elf heads towards the Empty Net.
"We will await you," she calls after him, her deep husky tones only just reaching Susk's sensitive ears.
She turns to the others, her eyes evaluating the unusual gathering of beings.
"Would you like it if I.. took care of the evidence?" Captain Xendros indicates the three bodies.
