"May we come in?" Agathar asks to the people not answering... Then, if again there is no response, he goes toward the main garden inside, nodding at Daegal.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Leafric glances around, eyeing the disinterested guards and passerby's in the fort. "Alright boys, let's cause a scene. Agathar, be ready to duck."
She will loudly speak, "I can't believe you!" Slapping a hand against Agathar's chest and then turning around, "You brought me all the way here for this? This isn't what you promised back on the mainland!" She keeps taking further steps away, exaggerating her arm gestures, and she will increase her volume into a yell. "Amore, you told me these people could help bring back my father. It's your fault he's gone. You're supposed to fix it."
Leafric will look around to see if anyone's paying attention or buying into her bit, and when she's confident she has a few eyes are on her, she'll turn back towards Agathar for the big finale standing 20-30 feet away. "You LIED!" And then she'll heave a loud frustrated grunt/ disgusted scream as she extends her finger at him and casts Eldritch Blast in his direction. She aims just above his head, knowing it should miss and hit a wall behind him.
Here's a couple rolls, use whatever you feel is appropriate for the situation
Performance check: 23 Deception check: 24 Eldritch Blast against Agathar (with disadvantage because I was intentionally trying to miss?): Attack: 16 Damage: 9

(Lol oops, sorry for the hit Agathar! Didn't think it would because your AC is so high!)
Leafric conceals the apologies in her eyes, perhaps a little too well, and turns to see the woman in robes. She looks back at her friends and walks over to Agathar, grabbing him by the collar of his armor. She’ll whisper to her friends, “Well, we certainly got someone’s attention, let’s make the most of it. Daegal, follow us.”
She’ll pull at Agathar’s armor, standing well over a foot or more below him, and start tugging him towards the lady. Loudly so everyone can hear Leafric will say, “Someone who might know something! Agathar, please explain what we’re looking for before I leave you in this gods-forsaken fort.” She’ll push him in front of her in hopes he’ll talk to the woman and get some more information.
Agathar clears his throat... "My lady" begins the paladin loudly "We all know how resurrection spell fails nowadays. How the flesh of those who had a new life from our gods is decaying day after day." He pauses for a second. "Some clues brought us in the region of Chult. Here, somewhere, some foul magic is poisoning the divine power of life!" He looks around. "We must stop this madness... and we'll do!" He emphasises his words with his fist hitting his armored chest. "...and with your help if you have informations, gear or simple collaboration to share with us..."
She is carrying some reports that show pictures of very large footprints as she surveys you.
"Ah, Some adventurers! I know that your likes can be good people, however everybody is different. What seems to be the disturbance? I do not particularly care about the death curse, it is a problem for others."
"Who's problem is the death curse?" Daegal asks from his position behind the others. "Though perhaps we can be of help to you as well." He says nodding towards the papers.
OOC: Does Daegal recognize/know anything about the pictures of very large footprints that she has in her hands?
Turning her head to Daegal, he catches the corner of Leafric's eyes. She gives a slight nod in agreement with what he's said. Perhaps the fort could be of more use than just getting traveling documentation. She turns back to the front, assessing the well dressed woman. A fort run by a woman who doesn't seem to be knighted or wearing armor? Interesting.
She ponders for a moment, if documentation is all they got, then she'll take it. Leafric wonders how much longer they need to keep up the ruse for Rokah. She hopes he's accomplishing what he needs without getting caught. Maybe they could ask to stay for the night? She gives time for the woman to respond to Daegal before she dares ask if they can rest their heads and replenish their water and rations before departing again, this trip has been more punishing than she originally imagined.
"One may not care... until death takes someone near... For someone who can't afford a resurrection maybe this 'death curse' ain't changing their lifes, I suppose. But you seem a wealthy human, and this fort surely has some cleric in it, so why don't you care about it?" A black heart colluded with the powers behind the death curse? Maybe if we keep her talking we can learn something valuable here. What about Rokah? He talked about few seconds... everyone is looking at us now... show a sign!
"Wealthy? Far from it. I don´t think that all of the rich and powerful dying is that much of a problem. Now, for the final time, why did you start hostilities here?
"You'll have to forgive us. We've recently joined together as a group. I wasn't aware of this hostility until just now. What do you have to say, Leafric?"
Leafric stands her ground, not giving an inch to the authority figure in front of her. "Hostilities were bred from frustration and discontentment. Surely you know the experience of a journey that seems to go wrong at every turn."
Pausing a moment to pretend to collect herself before continuing, she dusts off her pants and takes a deep breath. "I was hoping this would be our final stop. That doesn't look like it's going to be the case. To rescue my father from this death curse, I believe we need to go into the jungle now. Any advice on the largest threats or best path in?" She cocks her head to the side slightly in genuine inquisitiveness, a light furrow in her brow.

You are already in the fort. You might need something… showier

Agathar takes the damage, and many people scream. you see a woman wearing some expensive robes come out of the keep.
"Are we running or talking more?" Daegal whispers to the others, a little thrown off by Leafric's improvisation.
(Lol, with that rolls Agathar himself almost believes you)
Agathar stands with his mouth open, in astonishment.
"I... I... didn't mean..."
Leafric conceals the apologies in her eyes, perhaps a little too well, and turns to see the woman in robes. Daegal will follow about 5ft behind Leafric and Agathar. He'll keep an eye on their surroundings as they approach the lady.

The footprints seem to be oversize human footprints, roll for investigation to read more.
Rolled a 12 for investigation in the campaign roll log.
Daegal loses a little bit of interest once he recognizes the footprint to be more humanoid, but tries to keep up this discussion.
The notes say something about giants, however it is difficult to read more. She asks what the cause of the disturbance is.
