"My name is Rokah. I have a proposal that could interest you. I will be in the thundering lizard if you want more. Not to spoil the surprise, but this could end in your own charter of exploration and more."
I need to get some info on the flaming fist. It might be working with the pirates, and I need a distraction So That I can break in. I can offer one charter of exploration, and I can also convince river and flask to work for a lower price. I can add in some extra goodies as well.
OOC: I will be unavailable until Friday next week.
The shorter half elf will lean into her group and whisper, "That seems like a good deal. A little distraction for exactly what we need? I like this town already."
Leafric will make sure the group agrees before saying, "We're in. Were you hoping for a spectacle or something a little more covert while you sneak in?"
Daegal replies to Leafric in a whisper, "It does sound like a good deal, but it might be risky. If the flaming fist punishes those who don't have a charter, they must have connections to the local government."
I don't like subtle missions, who knows what informations this man in dark wants and what he will do with them afterwards... But now we need the resources to step into the jungle and search for a greater evil. I have to make the best of a bad situation, now. There will be a time where this Rokah will be judged if his intents are as dark as his robes.
Does anybody want to gather supplies for the trip?
Say which resources you are buying in the port.
Are you travelling at a slow, medium, or fast pace?
you set off, following him to the edge of the jungle. you do spy the bay, with muddy water stretching a few hundred feet before being swallowed by the mist. He leads you to a small, old boat, and together you set off. the Sky has a few white, fluffy clouds, with no rainclouds in sight. Suddenly, as you sail into the mist, you see a small, humanoid creature in your boat.
It waves to you, and then sits down, humming a simple tune. NOTE: you do not need to watch the whole video
OOC: Did Rokah say how many travelling days we would have need to reach our destination? I presume we will traver with a slower pace, so that we won't immediately alert the flaming fist or the pirates about our presence.
IC: With a surprised look on his face Agathar waves at his new clandestine, humming companion. Then whispers to the other: "Do you see him?"
Roll for stealth to see if the flaming fist or pirates see you.
Based on your current method of travelling, it should take 4-5 days to reach there by boat.
here are the rules for travelling:
On the map of Chult, each hex measures 10 miles across. Characters moving at a normal pace can travel 1 hex per day on foot through coastal, desert, jungle, mountain, swamp, tundra or wasteland terrain. They can travel 2 hexes per day if they’re traveling by canoe or boat on a river, ocean or lake. The rate of travel up or down river is the same; the rivers are so sluggish that current is almost imperceptible. Without canoes, the normal rate of travel along a river is the same as through the surrounding terrain. Canoes move 1 hex per day through swamp.
If characters move at a fast pace, the easiest way to deal with their progress is to roll a d4. On a roll of 3 or 4, they advance 1 additional hex that day. Characters moving at a fast pace take a –5 penalty to their passive Wisdom (Perception) scores, making them more likely to miss clues and walk into ambushes.
If characters set a slow pace, roll a d4. On a roll of 1 or 2, they advance 1 fewer hex that day (in other words, 1 hex by canoe or none by foot). On any other result, their caution is rewarded, and they travel the same distance as a group moving at a normal pace. Characters moving at a slow pace can move stealthily. As long as they’re not in the open, they can try to surprise or sneak by other creatures they encounter.
"I see it too, Agathar." Daegal says and waves back to the creature. "I wonder what it is. I've never seen anything like that before, but it looks friendly."
OOC: yes, Agathar needs some rations to survive the trip without hunting. If the trip is planned to last 4-5 days, I think it would be better for me to buy 10-days rations at port nyanzaru. How much gold do I have to remove from my pouch?
OOC: My personal stealth roll is a very poor 2
Reassured by Rokah words Agathar looks at the strange creature. Then he tries to ask the creature, at first in common then in draconic language: "Hi friend, can we do something for you?"
The Creature Does not appear to understand you, and it continues humming the song. It begins pointing to the sky, and it creates a miniature thundercloud which sends a miniscule spark at Agathar. it gives you a small electric shock, however deals no damage. it then points to the sky again.
"Is there a storm coming?" Daegal asks the creature as he offers one of his good berries to it.
OOC: I think the starting adventuring gear will cover Daegal for this first adventure. It starts with 10 days worth of rations. Though if we get stuck somewhere and run out, good berry can feed us for the day as long as I reserve a spell slot for it.
The creature Happily eats the berry, and then disappears in a puff of smoke. You feel Like something has changed, as the word "Nangalore" pops into your head.
you gain this blessing:
Charm of Euryale
Supernatural Gift (Charm)
As an action, you can unleash a petrifying wave of magic from your eyes in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature has the petrified condition for 1 hour. On a successful save, a creature is partially turned to stone and has the restrained condition. A restrained creature can repeat the save at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Once you use this charm, it vanishes from you.
OOC: (It might be a bit broken but this is in the stat block for random encounters.)
"That's strange and new. I've helped many creatures in my day but none like that." Daegal will be quiet for sometime and then start humming the song the creature was humming.
"Have you ever seen something like that before?" Daegal asks the others in the group.

Agathar raises an eyebrow, but he is ready to go and hear Rokah proposition
Leafric will skeptically nod in agreement, this very well could be the break they're looking for.

I’m ready to play some dnd at 10:00 at night
Daegal with look at the others and shrug as he's thinking what they are thinking. "What is your proposal, Rokah?"

OOC: I'd say medium pace for now.
The creature waves back. Rokah glances at it and remarks: "Yeah, they show up in the jungle every now and then"

it costs 5gp per 10 days of rations.
