The fighter will aim his crossbow at one of the kobolds - whichever one he can see or guess their location through the drapes - and send an iron-tipped shaft of pain flying towards it! He then moves closer to the gazebo, to help block their shooting lane and protect some of his friends. "Oh yeah...looks like fresh kobold is on the menu for the crocs!" he calls out to the pavilion.
At the sight and sound of this attack, Ransyl covers half the distance to the gazebo (25ft) and prepares to “dodge” whatever may come his way, greataxe in hand.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Keyleth, not expecting to have to test out her new crossbow so soon, takes aim at the nearest kobold [if the kobold Kirinar hit is still standing, she'll try to finish it off; otherwise she'll go for the last remaining "regular" kobold] and pulls the trigger.

But the bolt stick into the heavy drape right by the kobold's head.
Kobold 3 steps back into the darkness of the gazebo and can no longer be seen. (Full cover, cannot be attacked at this point.)
(Kirinar should be back up to 8 HP, right? My character sheet is correct...just checkin'!)
"Thank you, Lady Faen! You have saved me, and I am in your debt! But we must dispatch these creatures before I can think of anything else." Kirinar slings the crossbow on his back, and prepares for hand to hand combat, gripping the shield tightly and unhooking the morningstar from his belt clip. He then moves to the edge of the curtain, staying to one side so that he can't be seen from inside.
Radagast casts another chill touch spell, this time at the Kobold inventor
Attack: 23 Damage: 7
OoC: That was a natural 20 so the damage is actually 14
OOC: Are you using the Combat tab of the dice roller to roll attacks? It should automatically do critical hit damage for you if you roll a 20. Also you don't double the damage you roll the damage dice 2x. So roll another d8 to add to the total damage.
OoC: Do you want to just roll the d8 for Merbakin, DM, in the interest of being able to move on? Since it doesn't require any decision to be made on his part... Mooted! Though for future, would that be a reasonable convention? In the case of a simple misroll, DM can just do the roll for a player if it's not something that requires a decision on the part of the player? (Similar to the way DM rolls initiative for everyone)
OoC: Yeah, a shame. Last time we faced one of these guys it survived a 10 HP shot so I'm guessing it's still going to have a chance to go slip into the darkness. Ah well. Even though the second die was low, the first one was great, so the total roll only ends up being slightly below average for a crit chill touch.

If you are good with it I am, but some people like to make their own rolls so I didn't want to presume.

Ransyl covers the rest of the distance to the curtain (25ft). As he arrives, he feels uneasy about jumping into the unknown, but decides to take the risk. “That’s what this noisy armor is for.” He takes a deep breath and heads past the black curtain.
Ooc - I’d like to hold my action (a swing with my greataxe) for the first Kobold that comes into range.

The kobold inventor slips back into the darkness and out of sight.
Ransyl is up.
Fair enough. It doesn't matter to me; I'd rather not hold up the action. But others might have different opinions.
